I have a bachelor's degree in community psychology and I am constantly scouted on Handshake for tech jobs. A growing field right now is ethics in tech. Another area to look into!
Just discovered your channel! I'm thinking about switching my major from business to psychology but I'm concerned about making money, even though I love psychology. Also, none of the jobs in psychology really speak to me. Any thoughts?
All I want to do is work my job for seven years & study the things I'm interested in till I know them thouroughly....while learning how to code- so that I have a career in hopefully 4 years....(but also, all my curiosities are satiated.) 😂😂 No Biggie. I'm sure I can manage it all simultaneously.😂
Hi everyone. Can anyone gimme a hint? I'm a 37 years old Brazilian psychologist. I have some Mba's that i believe that wouldn't count a lot, but i was wondering if it was possible to revalidate my bachelor psychology degree in order to find some opportunity to work somewhere in U.s.
Great question! The US regulations vary state to state, so you'll want to have an idea on where you'd like to be first. It is also likely you will need a work visa. We recommend seeking an immigration attorney and looking up your preferred states licensing body.
Hi Striver! Psychologists probably wouldn't because g impacts us across many domains. Here's a video that might help -- th-cam.com/video/7NNNgQf2ToY/w-d-xo.html (sorry it's so old!) G is special because it has been shown to hold a predictive power statistically. Things like talents or multiple intelligences dont hold that kind of statistical significance th-cam.com/video/kUbR5jSUhTg/w-d-xo.html
In my experience, it is OK to apply to many psychology jobs with a behavioral science degree since some colleges have that as the only option. As long as it is closely related and you feel prepared, of course!
Yes, to specialize in IO you need a masters. Travel requirements can vary depending on your career path. Many IO professionals run their own small businesses but there are opportunities in HR departments, the legal field, and the government.
I would like to add that your dream job isn't your first job; don't be afraid to get experience.
Yes 🙌 thank you for your insight.
Thank you✨ much needed advice🌷

I have a question..
is it okay to refer to "g" or general intelligence as "intellectual talent" ??

Hey Psy vs. Psy I had a question about being an IO psychologist do you have to have a masters for it? Also do you have to travel at all?
Yes, to specialize in IO you need a masters. Travel requirements can vary depending on your career path. Many IO professionals run their own small businesses but there are opportunities in HR departments, the legal field, and the government.
I wonder if I can get a bachelor's in psychology, then med school, to be a psychiatrist
You don’t need med school.
@smilealwaysnatasha3423 to be a psychiatrist, yes, you do they are medical doctors .
i believe you can but you still need to take a bunch of bio and chem prereqs in addition to your major.
Is PhD obligatory to become an IO psychologist ?
I believe a masters should be fine depending on where you are. It is a relatively new field compared to the other psych concentrations.
Is that Marx on the shelf?
