Thank you, Gimi - I really appreciate you seeing the work that goes into these - I really try to bring something unique to this channel that you don't get with any of the other equally fantastic channels out there!
just watching this has reminded me of the brilliant spider-man fan film, green goblins last stand, it released in the 90s and only had a budget of 500 dollars. its such a good fanfilm, if carbon sees this, just watch it, its like the comics brought to life.
That first figure you mention was my first goblin action figure. Really liked it, until he broke in half at the waist. He came with a giant battle suit you could put the figure in. I had wanted the Raimi goblin for my birthday but I got this one instead. I was really sad when it got broken .
Great video! Goblin was always one of my favorite characters, so this was a blast to watch. One of my favorite Golbin figures so far is probably the Soosoo Toys Green Menace (though the Mezco classic Goblin might be a new contender.) Keep up the great work :)
I miss when green goblin used to be some insane man in a Halloween costume, in newer adaptations the suit is always some military armor which sucks in my opinion, i also miss when goblin used to shoot lazers out of his gloves, it really gives him that magical wizard like feeling. Awesome video carbon!
Another beautiful video on the history of Green Goblin and the history of its action figures release! Out of all of these, the only one I have is my definitive favourite, the Marvel Select Green Goblin with Peter Parker! Such an excellent piece! The most wonderful part is that I was able to animate him for a short clip which will be shared soon!
I was wondering if one day you could do a video completely dedicated to the spectacular Spider-Man figures(I know you did a video about your love for the show and showed some figures in different videos but never all of them in one big video). Those figures were a big part of my childhood and who better to talk about action figures than you. Keep up the great videos!
Great memories. I was a kid in the 70s and had the small Mego Green Goblin; he was one of my favorites of all the pocket heroes (the original version, I rarely saw the straight legged ones and disliked them when I did). Had the larger 8" Mego GG too, sort of. His head was for some reason a constant at yardsales back then (along with Batman and Aquaman heads, Scotty red shirts) and thankfully the heads fit on any of the bodies. So I had him, but not with his costume or items. His makeshift GG costume must've been pretty awful, because I have no memory of even playing with him, though I do recall getting Halloween decorations as his flying bat and his weapons, and using similar with the smaller one. What a great look, even in the worse of his figure incarnations. Says a lot for Ditko's design. I just wish we had gotten a Bronze Age meet-up between him and the Joker back when they were doing the DC/Marvel crossovers.
Finally finished the video and this was a great video, the Green Goblin is my all-time favorite Marvel villain and a lot of these action figures are pretty good, and I'm lucky to have the 2004 toy biz definitive Green Goblin figure, the 2002 superposable movie Green Goblin figure, and the 1994 animated Spider-Man series Green Goblin (Quick note, both Green Goblin & Hobgoblin didn't have the chainmail armor design on their arms or legs in that Spider-Man show) I used to have a spectacular Spider-Man Green Goblin action figure but it's gone now, but I got the other ones that I mentioned that I have at least
Absolutely amazing video. My favorite is when you go through the history of the character In the comics and such. I learn even more. I just won a bid on a new 1994 Green Goblin figure. Definitely keeping it on card.
I've got both the Hasbro modern Green Goblin Legend (I always considered him to be based on the art of Giuseppe Camuncoli) as well as the Retro Card Green Goblin, with repainted eyes, I consider him to be the perfect Green Goblin figure to me! Would love to get my hands on a Toy Biz one though, he is a mighty fine Legend!
There’s way more than that. The retro marvel legends, the best one imo is the re release if the select with pin less joints and that amazing glider that has the smoke and fire as basically the stand for the glider. The glider is no question best glider ever made between legends, toy biz or select. The figure is really great too and right off the pages. He’s super skinny legs are only thing I’m not crazy about but that’s how he looked in the comics. Super surprised he was not in this even before he was re released
I’m planning on getting the retro hobgoblin because I had nostalgia for the Spider-Man the animated series dvds I had that featured the whole green goblin and hobgoblin arch and also the first comic I read had hobgoblin which is why I’m giant hobgoblin fan
There’s a new Green Goblin figure coming out based on the 90s cartoon series and that might become my favourite Goblin figure because he has the yellow eyes and fangs with the classic design. We’ll just have to wait for it to actually come out though.
Looks like this video was made for me. I probably have the largest collection of Green Goblin (and Hobgoblin) figures and collectibles. 💚💜 Looking forward to watching this.
My favorite classic spider villains are the shocker (I thinks that's his name I remember he had a yellow suit gree goblin and the lizard when you think of spidey. you think of those 3 and they had great figures I always loved how good the goblin gliders are always cool to get
I wish there were more stories of him as the main villain, like Batman has with the joker (killing joke, Arkham asylum, endgame, death in the family, etc)
@@CarbonScoring Agreed. The select version rerelease is absolutely stunning and by far the best glider with the fire and smoke and pin-less joints etc. It is such a great under rated figure that I’m shocked is not on here. Even before the rerelease. Select is slowly taking over with the new hulks and vision and keeping them at 29.99. Not saying they all great as a lot if not most are awful even, but the newer ones are really better than some of hasbros stuff. Especially the immortal hulk and new red hulk about to hit stores. They’re abomination still best abom and some think the juggernaut is best version. I have him and the 2 pack legends jugg but think 2 pack better only cause the extra heads and articulation. How great would a Joker-Goblin team up have been? Although, I feel fairly certain Joker would have stabbed him in the back first chance he got...
I had the Humberto Ramos Goblin when I was a kid. And I still think it's a cool redesign for the Green Goblin.
