    ¡Hola!...Hi!
    I am from Puerto Rico (in the Caribbean). I LOVED this video. All I can truly say is Thank You. I don't have the chance to travel to Norway so, this video was such a thrill. The quality is A+ and the images...well, lets just say that AMAZING is a small way to describe it. So much beauty in a country is magical. I hope I get to see it some day. Thanks again!!! Looking forward to see more of your videos. :D

    My research came from the web. To change the music in the movie is a hell of a job. The singer Nils-Aslak is most known for the opening ceremony of the 1994 Winter Olympic Games in Lillehammer. Iternet (edited): In the Northern tundra region of Norway, Finland, and Sweden live the nomadic reindeer herding Lapps. The Lapps only know one type of song, the Joik song. To this day, Joik singing remains prevalent throughout Lappish culture.

    My favourite part of Norway is way north of SaltFjellet and the Arctic Circle. I climb in Nordland/TromsAnd of course, escavate cave systems, go dry-suit diving. Norway's most beautiful parts, the north. And when I actually hear joiking, I'm "digging it" and applaude later. I respect all indigenous people worldwide, I always have!: )

    Norway can be a nice place one a bike: if you don't mind an occasionally rainy day. Bear in mind: the road distances can be quite large. There are high mountain passes that can be cold (snowy) even in summertime. So you can switch between warm sunny shrts type of weather to cold mountain passes (elevation) with frozen snowy lakes and back o sunshine shorts type of weather in 1 hour time difference. But allways with the most spectacular views.

    I heard that opinion before. I think is belongs to a culture. And people must not forget their ancient roots and history. It is a legacy we must keep. That is why I used this music. I understand our taste are different, even I like other music more. But in this case I think the music adds another dimension... even though there are many songs I like more. :-)

  • @fluers
    @fluers  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    I also prefer the Northern part of Norway. But while traveling through Norway I always find new hidden treasures and amazing scenerys... even in the south. Diving is not my idea of having fun in Norway... too cold for my taste, but visibility must be perfect. I totally agree with respecting indigenous people worldwide. In fact I try to respect all people. Even though they think totally different.. everybody is ok as long as they respect other people too.

    Norway can be pricy to go to. We allways use a tent (and our own car). If it rains we use small cabins in stead of hotels. Many campgrounds do have cabins for rent (for reasonable prices). Around bergen we used the tent, sorry I don't have a adress around this place.

    • @fluers
      @fluers  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      I Always go mid june, so around 15 june. The advantage is plenty of daylight (above the arctic circle the sun does not go down at all) and a good chance of good weather without the crowds of tourists. Bear in mind that in september the daylight ptime will shorten rapidly every day and temperatures go downd fast. During the winter time it is only advisable for polar bears. There is no daylight above the arctic circle and the temperatures can go to very very very cold. I allways go to the northern parts of Norway, like Lofoten, Senja. North of Trondheim the fishing in the sea is good; south of trondheim I never fish in the sea.

    OK it is not the Sahara, but you can have very nice weather in Norway too. Even above the arctic circle it is possible to linger around in shorts if the sun is around. And it is a fact that in summertime above the arctic circle you have 24 hours of daylight. I really like it.

    This is what I got from wikipedia (translated to English): The Samen or Sami (North-Samisch: Sápmelaččat) are originally an momadic people linving in the North-European Lapland. Nowadays they have an own parlement in Norway, Sweden and Finland, called Sameting, which has influence in the national governments. Most of the Samen live in Norway (about zo'n 50.000). In Sweden there are about 20.000, in Finland 6.000 and Russia 2.000.
    Hope you have enough information. :-)

    The music was working well until around 12 minutes in. Started to sound a bit like my little cousin eating his mashed potatoes, lol. Glad it changed back to something more palatable. ;) Beautiful footage, by the way. Was thinking about going to Norway on a foreign exchange around a year from now, and this definitely tipped me more in that direction.

  • @fluers
    @fluers  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    They do exist and it's not computer created (canon powershot SX1). It is a pitstop-area where you can walk down to the water. The scenery is like you see in the movie. So there are places in this world that can be this beautiful. The pittstop is just after a bridge and we missed it a ew times during our several visits to Norway. I presume this place is originally... long long time ago... created by glaciers because you see the original direction of the glacier on the surface.

    If you like to go fishing: this is your change of a lifetime. Expeccially if you're going north of Trondheim fishing in the sea is fantastic. Whenever you cross a fjord by ferry: stop take your fishingrod with a metal fish let it sink to the bottem and jerk is up fast... let it sink again for a few times. Good change you will catch your biggest fish in your life (cod). And goot eating too. Or go walking, canoeing on a small lake. Summertime is best... long days of sun. Winters are cold and dark

It makes all the hours of movie editing worthwhile. :-) I hope you can see Norway in the near future... you never know. Next movie will be from the USA (Zion, Bryce, Canyonlands, Arches, Grand canyon, Yosemite, Sequoilla). First I have to cope with 5500 pictures and dozens of movies. So it can take a while to process it. :-)

    Sorry for the delay (bin travelling again). Indeed a gem in the northern hemisphere. About the music: I like to ad local traditional music. This is sami music (yoik), an old folklore style music. It should ad to the feeling being in a country with long history. I'm sorry it is not your taste of music, but it will ad som authenticity.

Kjelvefossen is near Gudvangen in Naeroydalen valley, otherwise nice shots and a waterfall with a wooden bridge near tim Bjorli, I think the name Polfoss

If you go to the places (Gaupne end Voss) you will pass the waterfalls because they are next to the road, so you can't miss them.

    Norway is'nt cheap, but if you use a few rules you can have a fantastic time without going bankrupt. First of all forget about buying alcoholic drinks (very expensive) and bring 1 bottle of hard liquor per person from home. Second: Norway is perfect for camping on dry days, so bring a tent (and warm sleeping bag). During wet days: use small cabins (sometimes for rent at campgrounds). Third: bring your own cooking facilities and canned food. Four: if possible use you're owncar (no rental).
