Quarken 27 Cabin Test Drive in the OCEAN

This is a brand to pay attention to guys. The Quarken 28 Cabin looks like a boat that will appeal to the family boaters that want something fuel efficient, offshore capable, all-weather friendly and also an overnighter!
I was so impressed with the quality on the 27 t-top we tested earlier this year and this cabin version did not disappoint either. I had many questions about the offset cabin arrangement and if it actually works from a functional point of view so join me and let me know your thoughts in the comments.
Finnish designed and built this little rocket is a sensible choice for the conservative boater in my opinion.

So Dan, I'm hearing you report 43 knots top end and cruising speeds of high 20's & low 30's at better than 2 NMPG ('gallon' for us metric luddites). Given this boat has the aerodynamics of a brick and the weight of all that additional structure you were buzzing around with, I'd say that's impressive. Solid behavior in a seaway without any 'quarks', it sure seems a great choice.

So yes... I continue to feel these bloke at Quarken are onto something. They are not trying to beat everyone else with looks and performance, they are just building something super high quality and reliable. It's like conservatie boating for adventure boats.

We had some ocean swells in this test. Also look at my Quarken t-top test in SYdney where we found a few waves. I have been asked to test the new 35 so depending on what country I get access to it you can be sure i'll be hunting down the swells. I think it's important to show that whenever I have the opportunity.

Great video - my issue with this boat (and some of the others of this type) is there's not a separate toilet compartment - I keep getting told this is because of a lack of space yet nimbus can do it in the T8....maybe it's some fetish of scandos that they like dumping in their bedroom! Nice boat apart from that....

Haha dumping in the bedroom lol.... It just gives you more space to move without the walls thats all. Yes you can see me in the toilet of the Nimbus T8 in my recent video and I fit in it fine but if I was a big bloke I might struggle. Thats probably what they are trying to allow for in the design I suspect. Thanks for the laugh lol
