  • India was dubbed as ‘one of the most depressed countries in the world’ by WHO in 2018-2019. Yet, up to 83 per cent of people suffering from mental health issues don’t get the help they need. One of the primary reasons why people don't seek therapy is the stigma attached to it. Watch Tina Das broach this sensitive issue in #MindOverMatter

one in 4 in Pakistan Suffer from mental health issues. The situation is quite similar when it comes to mental health literacy and knowing your mental health condition. People who are aware of mental health are only a few nevertheless not responsible for educating others who do not have access to mental health education. It's the Government that must take it up as part of the Public Service.

The therapy has many issues, there is so much research that psychotherapy or talking to a psychologist has the highest remorse rate. The fact that it does not even work in the West its good that its not being encouraged in India.

This is a deep issue. Even in supportive environments, ignorant empathy is an issue - it is difficult for a non-professional who has not experienced altered states of mind to really understand. You can't just "snap out" of depression or a manic episode, for e.g.. This why access to therapy and trained professionals becomes a must, regardless of the nature of individual's environment.

People don't even consider mental health as a thing! Still remember how people made fun of deepika when she told about her health and yet she was supporting jnu students and was fighting for a cause, in cow belt states women are kept in shackles by men

The video is unnecessarily too long/ stretched. Very first time coming on this channel. Not sure if this channel gives in-depth analysis or sth like that. If possible, can you please mention that at the start of that video/ in title? Might help the audience decide whether this video would be helpful for them or not. Watched till 2:19. So far, good content.

In competitive examination there's no free giveaway
Then Olympic to world cup , there would have been reservation
Next time you have someone seriously ill , please go to a consultant with reserved quota
40% scorer will get Ortho and 80% scorer will have to study non clinical , it's insult of competition and grossly unfair
Not all bramhin kayastha richer than leather businessman
If upliftment of poor is criteria
    Let play it fair
It should only be given to EWS - SC/ST/OBC and only once in life not repeatedly
That's respecting Ambedkar sirs vision in true sense
Let make it compulsory that all got clinical degrees using SC/ST/OBC Quota have to flaunt it in public notice
Let government accept MBBS degree is not guarantee that they will be considered as economically sound & can shoulder family's responsibility , let gov admit they pay MBBS poorly & less
It will snowball in a great controversy unless definite steps are taken by government to ensure Postponement of implementation at least in PG

Please dont consult a psychiatrist, i am a doctor myself, i just completed my mbbs from govt medical college. Psychiatry is a psuedoscience, the side effects of drugs are much worse than the mental illness. And please dont fall for the hype like 1 out of every 4 person has mental illness. No, thats not true, the diagnostic criteria used to diagnose mental illness is flawed and not scientific. If u have anxiety it doesnt make sense to put you on benzodiazepenes and antidepressant, these drugs will cause more damage than your anxiety. Instead take help of your loved ones and consult a psychologist.

@Quetzalcoatl not at all possible, psychiatry postings are compulsory during internship, may be doctors who have passed mbbs before, dont have clue

    • @shreyestandel4491
      @shreyestandel4491 2 ปีที่แล้ว

@Quetzalcoatl i agree that u require medications for severe anxiety and depression, but i find many doctors just prescribing medicine and not counseling patients, and prescribing medications for even mild depression and anxiety which can be cured by cognitive behavioral therapy. I strongly support people to take opinion, but i am against such psychiatrist.
