Not only was she stunningly beautiful, but that Scottish lilt was awesome. I could have sat and listened to her talk about anything and nothing at all forever.
Saw her in Atlantic City in 1988 I think. She played at the Sands Copa Room, it was table seating general admission...all seats were the same price.... They seated you, if you gave the guy a good tip he'd seat you in a great seat. We gave him $20 each and he sat us at a table right next to the stage. Best show I ever saw.
ONJ was an incredible person too. She has a cancer hospital named after her. When she was a patient and fighting her own cancer battle she would go to the rooms of other cancer patients and try to lift up their spirits In their cancer fight. When I had cancer I had one of the most aggressive forms of cancer a person can get. So I’m still alive by the grace of God.
for me it started with Duran Duran in 83, I was 6, you never forget those years, amazing time for music. Grew up to so much music, we had Boz Scaggs, Sheena Easton, Michael, Wham, Thompson Twins, Billy Joel (52nd street) Prince, Paul McCartney and much more in my house.
She was overtaken in the US market by Madonna starting in 1984-85, as well as Whitney Houston. By the time Sheena Easton pivoted to the tunes written by Prince in 1987-88 (The Lover In Me comes to mind), there was no space in the market. Then came the Babyface-inspired R&B artists like Paula Abdul, Jody Watley and Karyn White in 1988-91, which pushed Sheena to the side. And in 1990 came Mariah Carey (Vision of Love), at the start of her run. That's probably why Sheena was not more famous. What a shame, Sheena was a great singer.

Finally came the Prince-inspired era of "Strut", "Sugar Walls" and "The Lover In Me", radically different in the look and the sound. Sheena at her best...to a teenage boy in the 80s Sheena doing her Strut was just indescribably mesmerizing, still is today :) queen of seduction love songs
She was the whole package. She was pretty and sassy. Her vocal talent was immense and the Scottish accent slipping into her songs just made her voice even more special and it is even better when she sings songs that more heartbreaking or romantic in nature, as she pulls at the heartstrings and you can't help but start crying.
I had the PLEASURE of flying next to Sheena quite some time ago. I had seen her in concert a couple of times so I was already a fan. By the end of the flight I was in LOVE. 😍😍😍 Sheena was so charming, delightful and I'm not sure why, but I was surprised how funny she was. Here I am so many years later and I can still hear that incredible accent. Sheena is amazingly talented.
Hells to the Yeah! Sheena is Sheena, clever cool lyrics, swingin band, might even be some cowbell in there. Right song with the right artist, it always delivers 🤟😎
1984 ... "Strut" is a song recorded by Scottish singer Sheena Easton for her album A Private Heaven (1984). It was composed by singer-songwriter Charlie Dore and her longtime songwriting partner, Julian Littman.[1] Easton was sent the demo for the song by Christopher Neil, who was Easton's first producer.[2] "Strut" was released by EMI America in August 1984 as the album's lead single and peaked that November at No. 7 on the US Billboard Hot 100. In the UK-where the single was released in November 1984-the track became the first US top-40 single by Easton to completely miss the top 100 of the UK Singles Chart. ... The song appears to be about the singer being upset with a man for wanting her to be like a previous lover, and about the sexism of men in general for wanting or expecting women to behave in a certain fashion ("Strut, pout/Put it out/That's what you want from women"). ... It was nominated for Best Pop Vocal Performance, Female at the 27th Grammy Awards.
Seen her in concert multiple times in Las Vegas. Nobody was hotter in her day, throw that amazing voice in and YOU HAVE THE ENTIRE PACKAGE. She was also incredibly nice in person.
Sheena had a lot of great songs in the 80's, This song, When He Shines, We've Got Tonight With Kenny Rogers and so many other. What a beautiful foxy women she was!!

The 80s spoiled us….Proof! So many great artists singing so many great songs. Sheena was everywhere. Sheena did my favorite Bond song. Not the most memorable, but in my ear, the best. So much talent and sass. She took Strut and made it sound so sexual while telling the songs antagonist Sheena, and all females, needed to be treated better than some decorated piece of temporary, one-sided, pleasure. Yeah…The 80s spoiled us!!!

Her and Susanna Hoffs....Oh My
She's definitely mastered the "squinch"!
I was sorting my record collection and found this album and forgot how awesome this song is! It sounds better now than it did in the 80's!
Agree
That's Bruce Hornsby on keys, just before he hit big with The Way It Is. He was a chill, funny, friendly dude on set the day we shot this video.
Thanks for confirming that. I was like, “Hey., isn’t that Bruce Hornsby?”
this woman is just stunning...beautiful, talented and with a great sense of humor
Sheena at her best...to a teenage boy in the 80s Sheena doing her Strut was just indescribably mesmerizing, still is today :) queen of seduction love songs
Robert Wiegman yes
In the days before internet porn videos like this were gold. Very sexy young lady she was.
no...sade is the queen of baby making music. keep the record straight man.
@@bst6791 Yep!!! :)
@@thelaughingman79 I'm Sade's n° 1 fan and I didn't make any babies to the sound of her music ever...
What was in you drink?! Did you take drugs? 😂
Such an underrated song and singer. She had it all. Looks style voice and talent. Glad i grew up on this kind of talent and not the garbage today.
She was the whole package. She was pretty and sassy. Her vocal talent was immense and the Scottish accent slipping into her songs just made her voice even more special and it is even better when she sings songs that more heartbreaking or romantic in nature, as she pulls at the heartstrings and you can't help but start crying.
This has always been one of my favourite Sheena songs. So catchy, punchy and her vocals are brilliant, as always. Such a talented artist.
Went to her concert some years ago. She shook my hand. Lucky. Talented beautiful woman. 💕
Hi Lorenzo,hope you’re okay ?
I love the horns, the lyrics, and mainly her delivery of the words.
I love the lyrics too. She won't be his sex object, wants respect, and doesn't want to be sexualized. Wants respect.
I had the PLEASURE of flying next to Sheena quite some time ago. I had seen her in concert a couple of times so I was already a fan. By the end of the flight I was in LOVE. 😍😍😍
Sheena was so charming, delightful and I'm not sure why, but I was surprised how funny she was.
Here I am so many years later and I can still hear that incredible accent.
Sheena is amazingly talented.
Brian Scott she’s a British lady!😍
Bet your balls were aching after that flight!
@@borderlord I bet yours ache until you get to the bathhouse.
@@lemurianchick As a Scorpio,I think the mile high club !
@@jorgeantonioreinoso7579 She's a Scotswoman!!!
She looked ABSOLUTELY gorgeous...
Is anyone still loving this song in 2024?
yes but I listen to cantonese version by Anita Mui she is dead btw due to cancer
Absolutely!
Hells to the Yeah! Sheena is Sheena, clever cool lyrics, swingin band, might even be some cowbell in there. Right song with the right artist, it always delivers 🤟😎
Me 🙂
🖐🏻
Thanks for the trip back in time...
The 80's were by far the years to be around.
Best Song Ever. Man She was Pretty
Fantastic song and clip! Love Sheena ❤
Classic 80's! Loved Sheena and her music! Had the same hair as her!
Woohoo! Ty for sharing!👍💞🎵
I actually miss some of those hair styles
Female mullet with class!
@@dartanya2 hahahaaaa! Right?!!! 😂
@@rachelplows3001 agree beautiful stunning and prince took her to another Level
Wonderful flashback. Sheena was always such a very-very pretty little woman, and a wonderful performer with a great voice.
_Pilot Of The Airwaves_ is such a wonderful song Charlie Dore performed.
Got this record for my 5th Christmas! My first musical obsession 😊. Lots of singing and dancing sessions. Haven't listened to it in decades and memories are coming back. Really love it.
Came back to say you just dont get lyrcis and messages like this! A1 🔥
One of the best female singers ever 🖤 and still is 🖤🖤🖤
En verdad ,que los músicos y cantantes eran únicos, , es por eso q la música de los ,70 ,80 y 90s no pasan de moda , y se siguen escuchando ,como si fueran de ahora ❤❤❤😚🙂
Incredibly talented, and one of the most beautiful women of the 80s (and one of my biggest crushes).
Loving this 2023
Pure class and talent..... Proof that sex doesn't always sell the artist..... The artist sells themselves with good solid tunes and a genuine pretty smile.
“I won’t be your baby doll, be your baby doll”. Love that part💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽
Just found out that’s Bruce Hornsby on the keyboards! This was a few years before The Way It Is.
@@NoPawn yep, I always wondered if anybody caught that. Joe Puerta on bass who was in Bruce's band The Range.👍
Absolutely one of all-time my favorites. i remember it in '84.. i couldnt believe it didnt go to number 1.. great horns in the bridge...sheena is so beautiful and what a voice..so underrated.. great video
....WELL, when you're in the same Top 10 as WHAM!, Hall & Oates, Stevie Wonder, Tina Turner, John Waite, Bruce Springsteen, John Cafferty & The BB Band, Cyndi Lauper, & The Cars, you can ONLY go so far....ha-HAAA!! ('Strut' peaked #7 Pop, Sept., 1984)
No, she is not. You are just another TH-cam idiot who has nothing better to do other than writing cliche comments "Wuaa, she is underrated!" She has a bunch of hits, nominations, and awards. Stop writing stupid comments trying to make a super artist some sort of victim, you snowflake.
The 80’s are in full force in this video.
Sheena and Kenny Rogers. Thanks Sheena for being the magic that will live forever.
I really like her voice and songs and she is one of my best 80s memories!!! Thank you Sheena for marvelous works, wish you could sing forever.
Strut, For Your Eyes Only and Train 9-5
AWESOME
I am still loving this song in 2023. But Sheena, the whole song you never strutted! Still lovin’ Sheena in ‘23!
Sheena Easton's videos are the best energizing antidepressant . Her music is awesome
Songs like this one prove time travel is real.
2:26 The great Bruce Hornsby, who was in her band before he found success as a songwriter and front man. The bass player here is the wonderful Joe Puerta of Bruce Hornsby and the Range and also Ambrosia.
I became a big fan of _Mandolin Rain_ when it was added to the monthly soundtrack at K-Mart where I worked full time. You could hear the same songs up to 3 times in a full workshift.
Where are my 2021 ppl? C'mon now this song is timeless!
かっこいい。
SCOTLAND produced a fine Female Singer here.
Sheena Easton she's on fire I really enjoyed her music in the 80s plus she s nice to look at by all means God bless the eighties y'all have a great day
80s is Best melody and vibe still listen still loving this in 2023
This is my favorite Sheena Easton song! I remember back in 1985, I would run to the tv whenever this video was playing. Ahh, being a ten year old in 1985! Lol
