I wouldn’t be the person I am today (at almost 47) had I never watched this movie when it first came out. My already existing values, morals, ideals and ethics were just firmly cemented due to their representation in this film. The scene where the statue of Billie Jean burns like an effigy and topples was just as powerful to me then as it is today. I wish there were more strong female role models like Billie Jean being represented in the world today. People who are true to themselves, their unwavering integrity, no “game face” that differs from the one they show in public, independent and resourceful and able to rise to any challenge and overcome it. I saw myself in Billie Jean then, and I see her now still, only older, wiser and more discerning. If this was standard role model representation now (rather than what we usually see from “role models” these days) I unequivocally believe this world would be a much better place to be. Never has the concept of “Fair is Fair” held more of a significance than it does today. I hope the world wakes up before it’s too late for all of us.

The 80s is the best era of music. Original sound. Artists had their own style. They had their own sound to where one can easily learn who was playing on the radio. One can jam all day and never get bored. Today's music has the same sound. Nothing is original. No style. And it gets boring relatively quick. And it gets so bad that it seems that half the time one can't tell who is on the radio. There's a reason that today's artists are becoming less popular as time goes on.

My God that's a brilliant song, I hadn't heard it for about 30+ years until I heard it again during Covid lockdown and it blew me away. The song is a great rocker match by brilliant vocals.
I loved a girl for over 50 years, she went from one man beating her to the next, married, he hit her...one of my last conversations with her I said the first time you are a victim after that you are a volunteer.
I believe she's 5 octave range, but either way she's never needed "studio work" to make her voice carry power, she was trained in Opera as a child, which is how she developed such a strong voice, they taught her how to Breathe properly, which few singers actually take the time to learn, and the younger you learn it the more time and advantage you have.
Although it's totally acceptable due to her age, she unfortunately is unable to hit those high notes as hard as in this video. She still has more talent than most female singers today though, which is more than a little funny. A 69year old woman has more range and talent than quite a few people that are a third her age. But, I'm glad to be able to say that. It means she's unlikely to be forgotten in the musical history books.
HELL YEAH 80''S ROCKED AND STILL ROCK'S TODAY, BEST MUSIC EVER!!! I LOVE LISTENING TO THE 80'S AND 90'S MUSIC AND THE VIDEO'S WERE AWESOME BEST EVER. I Do love Ava max all her songs are great.
This woman's music is VERY underrated! Her music was just what I needed to help get me through the first few years of marriage and attacks on it! I couldn't afford to be innocent and believe women I worked with weren't trying to break us up! Benitar Rocks! Forever, baby~
perhaps her most dynamic song, full of thrill and adventure, conveys the feeling about living the life with freedom without fears, this is excellent, make you feel truly !INVINCIBLE¡.
Bad ass song !! Periodt. Love how the guitar player let's the bass groove without interrupting with a screaming solo. Genius in song construction and damn...what a beautiful woman. God bless you Mrs. Benatar.❤❤❤❤
0:52 the best part of the song, the hook. I remember in the '80s, the Captain of the Football team drove a Z28 Camaro and was dating the head Cheerleader at school. They flew by with this song blaring out the T-tops. I love that memory
Am I alone in thinking this is one of the most kickass songs OF ALL TIME??? One of the very best songs of the decade, from arguably the best voice of the decade.
I liked Katy Perry and Lionel Richie's reaction to Pat's singing when Pat and Neil performed on American Idol last year. Katy was impressed at how well Pat could sing live. But, Lionel clearly already knew that. They were praising Pat's vocals instead of the the vocals of the AI contestant she was dueting with on her songs.
Specifically, when Pat started singing Heartbreaker on American Idol, Katy Perry said "Wow." and Lionel's response was " That is the real thing right there!"
I bought this as a single 45 record when it came out. Listening again 35 years later (wow did I just write that) I still think it’s great but geez the drums are prominent in the mix. Oh well it was the 80s
Right?! I've been listening to her since I was a child and still love her. She's such a badass, but I feel like she gets overshadowed by the Joan Jetts and Debbie Harrys of their time.
G'day Chloe. Not sure why you would say Pat Benatar is underrated? Her first album was a smash success, from that moment on Pat Benatar was rated as one of the Best and would become one of the Greats. Here's a few things to consider. Two multi-platinum albums, five platinum albums, 15 Billboard top 40 singles, sold millions and millions of albums worldwide when the only way to buy one was pay for it in the Record Stores. Four-time Grammy Award winner along with numerous other major awards and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in November 2022. along with impressive company, Duran Duran, Eminem, Eurythmics, Dolly Parton, Lionel Richie, and Carly Simon. (Stevie Nicks 2019, Ann and Nancy Wilson along with the band members of Heart 2013 Bonnie Tyler is a Top artist who has not been inducted into the RRH of Fame). Pat Benatar is 69 and has been singing to admiring audiences since the 70's. Revered and respected by peers a feminist icon and from all accounts admired and respected across all genders. Our radio station may be a small one here in Victoria, Australia but when ever a presenter/DJ on 94.9mainFM plays Pat Benatar people dance. Regards Glenn.

I am not saying that I am so bad ass that I deserve my own soundtrack through life but Pat Benatar helped me survive many hard times growing up. I am grown now of course but music back then meant something to me. It help give me strength when I had nobody at all. I am so grateful for 80's music. People can knock it all they want, but this music is more than just a few lines of lyrics, these songs are pure power, love and worth more to me than anyone could ever imagine unless they feel it too.
Neil and Pat..and their band-they could rock out with anyone. Her voice and him shredding were so good. That bassist and drummer are pretty damn tight too. ❤❤❤
An underrated and unsung tune from Pat's discography. Love this tune the moment the video aired on TV during my high school days. The bridge section is awesome!!!
I'd be honored if some 80s rock fans would take a listen to my acoustic piano & vocal performances of SISTER CHRISTIAN by Night Ranger, IS THIS LOVE by Whitesnake, and EYE OF THE TIGER by Survivor on my YT channel in tribute to the era of legendary power ballads. Live acoustic with no autotune or digital editing. Peace and keep on rocking in the '020s.
Whenever i listen to 80s music, it brings me to tears. Wish we can time travel back. Was truly the last great decade. People were united, happy. Music was timeless and screamed what it was to be human.

And she makes it all look so effortless.
Everyone in the band was on fire on this one, just amazing playing, tone, timing, everything was perfect.
The 1980s best decade of music ever.
👍
I would say the best decade period. Take it from someone who wasn’t born until ‘93.
HELL YEAH 80''S ROCKED AND STILL ROCK'S TODAY, BEST MUSIC EVER!!! I LOVE LISTENING TO THE 80'S AND 90'S MUSIC AND THE VIDEO'S WERE AWESOME BEST EVER. I Do love Ava max all her songs are great.
I say the 70s @, 80s
@@m42037 some good music in other decades as well, but mostly in 80s
You’d best take this song as a wake up call, has more meaning now then ever before.
This woman's music is VERY underrated! Her music was just what I needed to help get me through the first few years of marriage and attacks on it! I couldn't afford to be innocent and believe women I worked with weren't trying to break us up! Benitar Rocks! Forever, baby~
Pat Benatar 4 the rock n roll hall of fame. 2022. Put in ur vote.
Pat Benatar.. So... Cute. Her voice.
If you weren't there you missed one hell of a decade.
I was born in 89. Totally sucks I wasn’t born sooner 😔
@@mason9644 At least you were born in the 80's. Thats still very cool and something to be proud of.
Agreed
Hell yeah!
@@j.t.cooper2963 I was born in 1979, so I lived the entire decade!
Her vocals are amazing. The guitar playing is top notch. The music's ebb and flow is great. They don't make songs like this often today.
One of the best female singers of the 80s glad Pat was inducted in Rock and Roll Hall of Fame she deserves it You Rock Pat!!!!#
She's one of the best singers ever recorded.
perhaps her most dynamic song, full of thrill and adventure, conveys the feeling about living the life with freedom without fears, this is excellent, make you feel truly !INVINCIBLE¡.
Once again,MORE-THAN FEMALE ROCK PERFECTION!!
The right voice, the right guitar licks, the right song. This all adds up to make Rock perfection.
Man I just love how well this song is produced. The drums especially support the lead vocalist like a duet. Beautiful music!
Mike Chapman produced it...
One of the most remarkable drums and guitar parts in mid-80s music❤
Bad ass song !! Periodt. Love how the guitar player let's the bass groove without interrupting with a screaming solo. Genius in song construction and damn...what a beautiful woman. God bless you Mrs. Benatar.❤❤❤❤
0:52 the best part of the song, the hook. I remember in the '80s, the Captain of the Football team drove a Z28 Camaro and was dating the head Cheerleader at school. They flew by with this song blaring out the T-tops. I love that memory
I have loved this song since it came out and still to this day. It hits the nail on the head in today's current time.
when was it released please? I'm 44 and this my 1st time hearing this
Especially with all the narcissists in our society now a days.
Am I alone in thinking this is one of the most kickass songs OF ALL TIME???
One of the very best songs of the decade, from arguably the best voice of the decade.
Nope your not the only one who thinks this😊
This song is in my top 5 list of the most kick ass songs of all time
I liked Katy Perry and Lionel Richie's reaction to Pat's singing when Pat and Neil performed on American Idol last year.
80s was some of the best years of my life
Me tooo 🤘🎃📲👣🍻🍻🍻🍻
Observen la pasión y entrega en la interpretación, esos eran músicos, eso es amar el arte!
It's 2021 and this song still gives me chills because it's so good.
Yep my favorite one
Me too!😁
Best thing about the movie
It will always give me chills. And I was 15 when this one came out in 1985.
Right?! I've been listening to her since I was a child and still love her. She's such a badass, but I feel like she gets overshadowed by the Joan Jetts and Debbie Harrys of their time.
Can't believe how underrated Pat Benatar is!She is a true Rock icon right right up there with Stevie Nicks, Ann Wilson, Bonnie Tyler
Alannah Myles, Janet Gardner, Maria Mckee, Marcella Detroit...
Pat Benatar is in her own genre. You can't compare apples with oranges.
@@toughenupfluffy7294 She was soft rock who tried flirting with typical, commercial, 80's, synth and drum machine, pop and an orange is orange in colour, segmented and citrus, with a thick skin and is usually juicier than an apple, whereas an apple tends to be sweeter and firmer, with darker pips and a very thin skin.
If she's "up there" with Stevie Nicks no wonder she's not rated highly. Perhaps you don't understand what 'good' is.
Timeless!!!!!!!
No auto-tune necessary for this lady. She doesn't even need a microphone to belt the tunes out! One of the great singing voices of all time.
The good part of this song is when you find out that the song came out in 1985,and auto tune came out in 1989. So this version of this song can't be auto tuned.makes this song that much better to my ears anyway. Lol.
Too good. Incomparable. No-one comes close..
This reminds me of my best friend since 7th grade and the amazing friendship we shared for 30 years until cancer took her from me 2 years ago. RIP Christine I miss you so much

This is probably one of my favorites of Pat Benatar
Hi 👋, how are you doing today
Me encanta
🤗💞❣
I love the drummer especially. He plays with such passion and commitment to his performance in this video. I'm grateful to have lived through every year of the 1980s, and still have my vinyl copy of Seven the Hard Way!
Although when making that album she was fighting with her record company so she does not like this song. I loved Seven The Hard Way it will always be on of my favorite albums from Pat.
The drummer is Myron Grombacher, and I LOVE the fact that he's standing up to play. I think that's so cool , and the fact that he's so into it is the cherry on top!
I feel so blessed having been able to grow up in the 80’s unbelievable time for life and music and imagination for a child
Pat Benatar-----pure talent. This is an excellent, well-constructed rock song with a belter to boot, one of the best female rock singers ever.
Love love love this song
Benatar - Giraldo: Inspiring & deadly combination-in all the right ways. Rock on!

From the movie "The legend of Billie Jean". Damn. Still goosebumps after 36 years !
As a school kid of only 14 years old, I've listened the album "Seven the Hard Way" a thousand times. Until my 17th actually :) Thank you Pat & Neil ♥
Yes indeed
Is the movie really 36 years old wow
Billie jean is not my lover. Blue jean. I just met a girl name blue jean. Let's dance, put on your red shoes and dance the blues. Simply red. Blue swade 👞. Blue bayou. The blue print. Buh
Fair is fair Billie Jean
I loved that movie!! The music from this movie was amazing!! Nostalgia overload!
Listening to this now. Knowing we can change this! Such powerful words that have stuck with me. From the lyrics of the song to the quotes from the legend! I've been empowered by these words since I was a young girl! Stand up and face the enemy!

Pat Benatar is in my top 10 concerts I ever attended, and I've attended a lot in many genres and from then until now. She just has a great range, power, energy and brings the performance - as well as husband on guitar!
Pat's voice and style ❤❤❤❤❤..and her lyrics!
Hi Christine,hope you’re okay ?
She’s a classically trained singer
« Invincible » c’est ce que je suis en écoutant Pat Benatar la première artiste rock que j’écoutais durant mon adolescence. « Hit me with your best shot » est la première que j’avais en 45 tours. Je me sens choyé d’avoir connu cette époque! Tu m’as fait danser Pat! Merci❤😊
Just heard this song tonight while shopping at walmart, brought me back to the 80's and made me remember the motto "Fair is fair"
This woman NEVER failed to satisfy!!
The 1980s would not have been as good without her!! A true musical GENIUS......lessons no female performer of today can match....none whatsoever!!

Pat Benatar IS one of my favorite female singers I grew up with in the 80's!!
I absolutely love her music!!
An underrated and unsung tune from Pat's discography. Love this tune the moment the video aired on TV during my high school days. The bridge section is awesome!!!

This song, Fire and Ice, and Promises in the Dark are my three favorite songs by her. Naturally, radio stations never play any of them.

WE did have it GOOD in the 1980's. IN Television, music on the radio, going to the mall. WE HAD IT ALL.
