Great video. Love the music, with the 'siren' sound at the start. Those power guitar harmonies are cracking! I hadn't seen this until I went looking for it. The algorithims must have changed, since usually your videos show up by themselves. Glad to see that you're alive and well and still making these interest-packed short films.

Cheers Eilean. Loaded with the cold just now. Looking forward to a hike on a day that isn't wet.

Excellent video. The history of the Glasgow Fire brigade is also very fascinating. Sadly, all of the old fire stations are no longer operational and have been converted into flats. In the 1920's & 1930's, the families of the firemen often lived within these stations.

Thanks Charles. I've had the subject of the Glasgow Fire Brigade at the back of my mind for a while. Maybe some day.

Another excellent video thanks Ed. It is a fascinating piece of Glasgows history.
I was actually a policeman in NZ for over a decade and I'm intrigued with police history. So, your video was particularly of interest to me. Thanks for sharing.

Goodmorning Ed. Hope you are well!. Haven't seen for a couple weeks. Looking forward to your next adventure. Keep them coming Ed. Richard from Rosyth.....

Cheers Richard. It's been a very wet summer. I don't have a waterproof camera, which makes it difficult to shoot footage when showers are around. Hopefully I'll get out soon.

Many thanks Peter. My only link with the police is that my grandfather had a police whistle. He carried money back and forth in the streets, from the ferry terminals. One blast from a whistle back then and a police officer would hear it. Unfortunately we can't say the same these days.

Hi Ed, as usual a very interesting video, I had a pal who used to deliver to the station in Turnbull street, the horses were stabled there on an upper level. He was delivering those roller towels, up the part where the horses came down, when he heard them coming down he had to back up with an armful of towels before he got trampled.

😊 thanks again Ed as always loads and loads to learn as you say in an ever changing world, we are all frogs being boiled slowly in the pot as the fabric of society crumbles and that's true it's definitely happening. These old police buildings🏢 it amazes me the taxpayer is responsible for them being built but never have a say as to what happens to them I always tend to think if things were done correctly these buildings could still be used now... The question I suppose am asking is why are they allowed to fall into disrepair because if they're always used as police stations how could it possibly happen they're more or less used everyday instead of building bland square boxes i say retain every old building we have, city's need to centralize and have these old buildings listed, Have them as they used to be retain the old buildings. in a city have all the emergency services in one place fire police & hospital just one huge building for all three. Architecture has always interested me and if we had the same design as in the old days, it would be amazing to see and I think then it really would be 100% practical. Not only that it would have multi functionality it would attract tourism as well as many times other things make it the best in the world keep standards unbelievably high and meticulously plan everything properly consult the people more and let them decide and have the final say. city & town planners have no clue....

Ed, There is an old police station in Govan which still has its cells, it is now the enterprise centre.

Hi. You're absolutely right. I did in fact shoot footage at the old police station in Govan, and also at Partick's old station. It's always difficult trying to reach a compromise between being factual and entertaining, and I opted to miss them out, although a photo of each is included in the video.

Thanks Kate. I struggled a bit with this one. Always difficult trying to figure out what footage to leave out. Maybe I should have a director's cut or something!

Hi Ed, hope your well? So sad these old building have gone or are set for demolition same as any old buildings in Glasgow. Hopefully this new government will get the finger out and sort out old building laying around but I doubt it.
I can’t imagine what the police need to deal with nowadays and the top work they do.
There seems to be more traffic cops with their little radar things than bobbys on the beat.
I came home the other day a there seen three traffic cop cars on Dumbarton road dealing with a Range Rover turned the corner and there is a drug deal going down 20 mtrs away 🤷🏼‍♂️ need more bobbys on the beat that’s how we sort things out.
    Sorry for the rant.
    All the best, Al.

Visit Glasgow Police Museum, Ed. Worth a visit. Glasgow Police were a notable presence in tenement and city life, before high viz vests and structural amalgamation rather separated them from the public.

Hi Lisa. Yes, my only regret about this video is not mentioning the Glasgow Police Museum more fully. It's an award-winning museum, and highly recommended.

Absolutely. It's a lovely plant with a beautiful smell, much loved by butterflies, but it is also the main plant found growing on buildings in Glasgow.
