I love listening to you.I live in Australia. I've just come back from a very long holiday (nearly three months.)in the UK and Europe. Most of it spent in my home Town of Kilmarnock and the rest of Ayrshire. I had a wonderful holiday. The hardest part is having to leave, I was so happy to find you on TH-cam. Just like being at home again. I watch you every morning, seeing my lovely countryside and Hearing someone speaking and UNDERSTANDING every word you say. Thank you Eddy, please keep up your show, Anne 👍
I enjoyed the different content Ed, entertaining with the odd giggle thrown in. I would not have placed my backpack in the luggage area either as also carry camera equipment plus I would have argued I paid for a train not a coach! I went to Glencoe last Wednesday and also had a terrific driver who took the bends around Loch Lomond admirably, having to stop or reverse a few times when met by other coaches. The area around the cathedral in Carlisle is indeed wonderful, I didn't have much time so skipped paying for castle entry, I am pleased I did. Hope you're over your cold soon. ps. I was invited to The Queen's Garden Party at Holyrood a few years back, I too stayed in student accommodation in Edinburgh but fared much better than you did and it was only about £20.
Hi Michael. It was a sorry excuse for a bus where there was insufficient knee-room. One of life's experiences. Well-priced student accommodation is not to be sniffed at.
Hi Ed, this might not be what we normally get to see and listen to, such as hiking through beautiful countryside and historical sites, but sometimes it’s good to listen to someone nattering on and on. The bus driver sounded like a true control freak, and yes sometimes one has to back down to their wishes. Enjoyed the chat Ed, and hope you get better very soon, best regards, Rob.
Great job of the debrief, really honest and interesting as hell. I get that same awakening when I go into one of those old buildings and get blown away by the amount of beautiful detail to admire. Don't fancy a student hostel though bit too basic, and low standards in that one anyway. Thanks for sharing.
There is a lot to see on our doorstep. We stayed in a Leeds hotel a couple of years ago, and much to our delight met and spoke with many of the Emmerdale Cast. It was the annual fan club dinner we just happened to be there passing through.
Always enjoy your chats Ed - It’s a bit like the old “Late Call” 😂 Glad you had a good time (apart from the bus driver. What if you had medication in your wee rucksack?).
Cheers Graham. Hope The Clutha gig went well. I think one of the many aspects of that bus journey was the two old women who were sat right behind the driver, and who weren't strapped in with seatbelts. One excessive bout of breaking and they'd have been sat on his lap! Maybe old women should have been assigned to the luggage-hold too!
‘Canal, pubs, castle, sorted’ 😂😂 Thanks for the tip about staying in student accommodation, had never thought of that! Edit to add: the replacement bus driver sounds like a bit of a **beep**
Anytime you work your way a bit more South and come to Nottingham/Nottinghamshire, let me know and I'll treat you to a drink or two on me! Our Nottinghamshire twang is a bit on the unique side as well.
@@EdExploresScotland The castle is a massive disappointment. Chatsworth and Hardwick Hall are much more impressive in my humble opinion. The Sal is definitely a highlight of Nottingham!

Good video indeed it's brilliant I think to diversify and have something "different" But is still just as good as the walks and things but you're right it's good to do as you want to do it's called being unique and not following what others do perfect holiday chat in the chair 🪑and telling a grand story 100% from me...
Thank you. Weather's been terrible lately. There were two good-weather days a few weeks ago, but on both days I had to stay in for uplift or delivery of a PC needing repaired. It's just no' fair! 👍

Hi Ed, You produced an interesting and thoroughly entertaining video. I hope you have fully recovered from your cold by now.
Thanks Bryce. Definitely on the mend, but it was a bad one.
@@EdExploresScotland Glad to hear you are on the mend.
Great video Ed, enjoyed that!
Thanks 👍
Hope you feel well soon Ed. :)
Definitely on the mend.
Enjoyed that Ed
Ed your trip sounds wonderful. Thanks for sharing 😎. Lynn.
Cheers Lynn. Rejuvenated and raring to get out there.

At first i thought "this is naw Ed exploring", then i realised its "Ed Rambling". Loved the road trip Ed. Hope the cold gets better.
Cheers. Rambling indeed. The cold progressed further from that day. Had to see the doc. But on the mend now.
I think that there were at least two characters on the bus!

Excellent video eddie. Youre a great story teller! I also love york as a city to visit. Elvington airfield is nearby and its a cracking museum as well
Cheers Andy. Yes, York's a great place, although, like Edinburgh, it suffers from too many tourists.
@@EdExploresScotlandhaha i agree with that! Carlisle as you say is great as well. Hope you are feeling better after your cold👍
Sounds like you had a good time. It's always great to get away for a while.
Hi. Yes, breaks or small holidays are more important than we sometimes realise.

Basic is indeed the word.

Came away with the mother of all colds. But I'll survive.

Yes, the well-priced aspect of student accommodation makes it an attractive option.

Nottingham's a great place; disappointing castle, but at least you've got a pub in a cave: Salutation Inn. Always worth a visit.

"Apocalyptic".
