An embarrassing amount of characters in this cast do not understand rudimentary aspects of this question and therefore meaningful conversations were seldom had. When a question like this is asked instead of focusing on the pedantic wording and trying to separate yourself or black men you know/love from the issues realise that it is an issue and by constantly defecting we will never arrive at a useful solution.

      Exactly.

Very relieving to see the lady who stood up intellecually interpret the prompt.

Women and oppression is very complicated. This issue is laced with so many issues, sexism, patriarchy vs matriarchy, gender roles, biology and physiology. Modern women, who want traditional men and don't want to be traditional women. The way women were treated throughout history. Men not taking leadership in our community on the scale necessary to unify and rebuild infrastructure. Lower rates of marriage in the black community, higher rates of divorce than any other race or time in history. Then the hate and blame without any true accountability, is leaving us defending entrenched feelings which don't have any solutions. We have to do better for the black children!

How do black men oppress black women?

  • @TheAlkebulanTrust

There are different levels of oppression and Black women have the right to express how they feel. So a resolution can be put in place. There are some Black women that don't feel Black men are oppressing them so this could be an individual thing. So with it not being common. It might be best to those who feel oppressed get mentors in Black women that don't feel oppressed by Black men and they can guide them on finding and being around the Black men that don't oppress Black women.

Terrible take/solution. Why don’t the black men who oppress black women be rooted out and educated. How is it fair to burden the victims in the situation with the expectation to find mentors and avoid the very real issues they face on what may even be a day to day basis.

@@nzuz169 nonsense. You think someone owe you safety. The person made a point about being proactive for your safety and you here here saying someone should bend for you Make YOUR SELF safe first.

@@kojoboateng6755 Yes, I think we all owe each other safety from each other. You say that as if it would be the most horrific thing ever. I shouldn’t attack/oppress you and you shouldn’t attack/oppress me whether intentionally or not. I’m not about to debate that. We should all be taught how to respect the boundaries of others and how to better cohabitate, that only happens when first it is recognised that currently certain issues with society that prevent us from doing so. Stating that the victims of oppressive structures need not only conform but also somehow avoid prejudice forced upon them is in many ways ignorant and dangerous.
When you say people should make themselves ‘safe’ first I immediately recognise how small the lenses by which you view this broad issue is. You have undoubtedly failed to realise that in this case ‘Black women’ also refer by extension to ‘Black girls’. Tell me how a child ought to protect themselves from an oppressive Black male who is always in their own household. Which metric would you use to measure how ‘proactive’ a baby is in keeping themselves safe from harm . The simple truth of the matter is there are some people who can’t protect themselves from dangerous people and even from those who can protect themselves better they also should not be put in a situation where they need encounter harmful individuals at all.

So British africans and carribeans now consider themselves black? When did that start happening everytime I have seem them accomplish anything they say they are from their respective countries. When asked if they are black they say they do not identify as such. So I guess throwing black on a title brings the crowd......right.

@@Dale-py1vs no, they are what they say they are. Clearly most say they are nigerian or jamacian. There is no such thing as a black jamacian. Moat africans even claim they didn't didn't out they were black until they left africa. So na. And these immigrants are not the black people who were enslaved and built up the U.K. the people you speak of are immigrants. I guarantee you don't even know who were the enslaved that made the U.K what is is today. It is very disrespectful, just like it is when you afircans and jamacians come to America and claim you are us
