Star City Games was really hoping for a finale of parnel getting milled but when his library was gone he somehow suicided like job did a few episodes back.
Star City Games Love, love, love the content... but you know what? The way this season has worked out, its screaming out for an Archenemy Commander with, my vote at least, either Stephen or Justin!
I have an idea for an episode next season: Play with a deck whose commander became (or was previously) a planeswalker, besides the Origins walkers. Off the top of my head, I know of Karn, Narset, Xenagos, and Samut. Of course, you need to play the planeswalker in the deck.
For season 8, I would love a commander game with you guys picking non-legendary creatures as your commanders. I vote for Justin playing Stuffy Doll, because Stuffy Doll says: "Whenever Stuffy Doll is dealt damage, it deals that much damage to Stephen Green."
They did something like that a while back. It was right when Jeremy first came in a few seasons ago. I don't remember all of them, but I do know that Justin was playing Alesha, who smiles at death. The deck was based off kill bill, with Alesha being the bride, and there were exactly 5 other legendary creatures in the deck, 4 of them being the viper assassination team, and one being bill himself, obviously.
@50:17 Stephen missed his draw step after resolving Wheel of Fate, and at @1:08:28 missed a lethal attack at a tapped out Jeremy. Even without the monument, could've stolen the Artisan with conscripts and attacked for exactly 19, unless Justin chose to save with Cryptic Command.
So quick rules question but at 26:01 when John slips the Feldon it has to be done before Jeremy moves to his end step correct? Which means the feldon comes right back in to play.
Partner Planeswalkers seems like a good set of rules for Commander on one game. Each player picks 2 Planeswalkers as commanders, and then runs 98 cards, so it's simple.
Oh hey, thanks for playing my deck, Stephen! Sorry it didn't perform that well for you, but it looked like you had some fun with it at least. I'm always looking to improve my decks on theme - any thoughts for additions? I've mostly built this out of trades and my own collection, so I'm sure I'm missing some good mono-red mill and chaos cards. Cards that I'm actively looking for are Molten Psyche, Reiterate, and Shocker. Possibly Keening Stone too? Or maybe some more artifact-based card advantage.
One card I'm surprised to see wasn't in your build was sundial of the infinite. If you wait for the end of turn trigger from Feldon's token, you can respond with sundial to end your turn immediately, thus keeping the token forever. I've tested the card out in several other decks, and it has surprising utility, especially against decks that like to hold open mana for counters/removal. If you do put in sundial, you may want to also consider adding in Glorius end. effectively skip your opponent's turn, take another turn, then end your turn with sundial when the trigger goes on the stack.
I hadn't added Sundial because I was focused more on the enter the battlefield effects or attacking effects of the creatures. This deck doesn't necessarily care about keeping the tokens around. But I know what you're saying, and it's definitely something I should give another look. Thanks for the recommendation!
tappedout.net/mtg-decks/feldon-targaryen/ Here's one I created...especially if you're looking for powerful ETB effects and maximizing Feldon, look no further!
Very nice, I like that deck a lot! I'm sure the dragon theme is very powerful. My mill/fork plan may be quite a bit less powerful than this, but I will say I always have fun playing mine. :)
I love these videos. All of you guys play off of each other really well, but my favorite dynamic would have to be between Justin and Steven. The revenge strike on Justin had to be done! It's the principle of the matter! I have a deck I'd like to see you play Steven. Lazav, Dimir Mastermind. #teamgreen
I'm glad this episode was a fair game no focusing on a single person. Stephan was a good boy not targeting Justin early on but after Jonathan saved Stephan, Stephan had every right to target lmao Great season finale!
Haven't watched it yet, but I noticed Steven's deck list doesn't have Sundial of the Infinite. Old man Jenkins Feldon without the Sundial? I am disappointed Mr. Green.
HeartwoodMtG having played it in mine for a good while I can officially say that exiling the end of turn effect once it's on the stack has been fantastic. I wish in this video Steven had gotten to use Feldon more
Sure, but you're not actually getting that much out of having your token for just one extra player's turn. If this was a 1v1 list, I'd be more interested.
HeartwoodMtG oh you don't know how it works bro. That's why. if you put the sacrifice trigger on the stack, then sundial, the trigger goes away. since it's only a "next and step" and not each and step, it doesn't trigger again aka you keep the token forever. :) It's incredibly powerful with things like wurmcoil or battlesphere.
Following the release of Hour of Devastation, there will be four planeswalker cards in three colors. Two Nicol Bolas, Tamiyo, and Sarkhan. How about a week where you guys play them as your commanders.
I run a Zur deck with the same idea to use astral slide for early defense and then cycle into combo cards. The deck is quite different from the one you played last time, but I got the idea from you Suarez!
Just wanted to say I've been watching since the 2013 commander precons were on scg and I have never missed a video since, amazing job thank you for your guy's time, keep up the amazing work and can someone play a poison deck please thank you
I might be missing something but doesn't Justin just win if he casts Breaching Leviathan inside of combat before declare attacks on Jeremy's turn? Leyline gives flash and then the big board is tapped down for 2 turns and Justin has free reign to swing in.
So astral slide + sundial of the infinite = perma exiled right cause the trigger doesnt resolve and its like feldons ability where it only says next end step and not every end step so the card stays gone im right right?
You guys should do all five colour decks, however there's a catch. You can only use multicoloured spells from different guilds of Ravnica to make your deck. So for example, Justin could play Dimir, Gruul, and Azorius coloured cards for his five colours. Jeremy could do Golgari, Boros, and Simic. Etc etc.
big fan of the zur cycle deck, not sure if it's been suggested before but next season I would love to see you guys go at it with a 4 horse of the Apocalypse theme, or even better you each have a theme of the 7 deadly sins and your decks theme is the sin your most guilty of
Altar of the Brood. "Just a card".....That I killed all my opponents with last week in my Omnath deck, the turn after my opponent ultimated her Tamiyo, the Moon Sage. I used Zuran Orb to sacrifice my lands, then used Splendid Reclamation to get them all back, causing exactly 40 triggers on all of my stuff that mattered. Milled them all out instantly. :)
It would be interesting to blend a hearthstone style element into Commander, Like being able to have a sorcery with cmc less than 3 or 2 that is in your command zone that you can cast once per turn. Like that is your Planeswalker's cantrip, his go to spell that he just knows off by heart.
Great season guys. Thanks for all the awesome content every week! A question as well...since you guys showed Jon's trigger exiles when they die, doesn't his delayed trigger of grave titan returning also exile? Does it ever actually return to the battlefield?
I'm a little confused as to why Justin didn't just wait to cast Breaching Leviathan during the beginning of the combat step of Jeremy's turn to make sure he had at least one more turn to try and win. He still had flash.
man, I wish Stephen and Justin were more friendly to eachother. That was the friendship of McDarby and Danny that hooked me on this series since the first time I watched.
Justin, you should have got that rise of the dark realms, with the tutor. Breaching Leviathan was a mistake. You could have had all those blockers and swung against Jeremy then Jon.
So I made an Atraxa Superfriends deck that I'm always changing and editing. I've been trading for most of these cards and have racked up a semi-decent deck Is there any way I can submit the deck list for you guys to maybe consider using it? (Specifically Stephen because Atraxa)
(Kyle) The finale is finally here! Who will win season 7? Who has the sweetest fan submitted deck? Who will mill Parnell?
Star City Games was really hoping for a finale of parnel getting milled but when his library was gone he somehow suicided like job did a few episodes back.
Star City Games Love, love, love the content... but you know what? The way this season has worked out, its screaming out for an Archenemy Commander with, my vote at least, either Stephen or Justin!

Animar and/or Kaalia decks please
don't forget the big bad dragon, Bolas ;)
54:00 @Steven, Altar of the Brood triggers off of any permanent (except itself) including lands...
For season 8, I would love a commander game with you guys picking non-legendary creatures as your commanders.
I vote for Justin playing Stuffy Doll, because Stuffy Doll says: "Whenever Stuffy Doll is dealt damage, it deals that much damage to Stephen Green."
And Stephen could play burn tribal with Hostility as commander
Dryad Arbor confirmed
_Penny Dreadful_ Commander with non legendary commanders.
Pauper Commander would be a great episode.
They did Pauper Commander already tho
For next season, I'd like all of you to pick a movie and build your deck completely in the theme of that movie.
The matrix dimir deck!
White Black Red for Kung Fury!
I love watching y'all play it helps me add new cards into my edh deck
1:01:00 C'mon now, Wrexial doesn't come back until Justin's end step. Can't have Lightning Greaves equipped.
20:28 man, I was gonna wait to comment before I finished the video, but that had me laughing so hard!
I just viewed that chain of events, and it was truly beautiful; like witnessing a unicorn.
I love Commander vs, been watching since season 1, always Team Wes for life
Bryce Knoch yes same!!
#wisemove
#Wisemove They need a tribute episode, where someone has cryptic command as their commander
Adtpg Simic 99 cryptic commands and Tefiri as the general
definitely, should we splash green for oracle of mul daya?
See this is so much better because Justin isnt just being targeted from the beginning
Stephan, that was some slick negotiating with the wheel of Fortune.
Oh Gosh, next season we are expecting at least 26 episodes... We NEED paper commander videos!! Thanks guys, awesome!
At 1:00:01 can't Justin not equip greaves, because Jon phased it out? It doesn't come back into play until the next end step.
11:14 game start
Game starts at 11:21.
Did Jon Astral Slide Nighthowler or Wrexial near 58:45? Cuz if it was Wrexial, then he couldnt equip his greaves after combat.
Can only astral slide creatures, so it must've been Wrexial
@50:17 Stephen missed his draw step after resolving Wheel of Fate, and at @1:08:28 missed a lethal attack at a tapped out Jeremy. Even without the monument, could've stolen the Artisan with conscripts and attacked for exactly 19, unless Justin chose to save with Cryptic Command.
1:07:50 All at Parnell! You know in your heart Steven that it has come to this! (Going to go press play now for imminent disappointment... probably.)
Love this series opens my eyes to many new cards
Justin sticks the boots on Wrexial, despite it being exiled until EoT with Astral Slide at @1:00:00 ?
Good episode either way
Just came to the comments section to say this lol
Batman Forever easily has the best soundtrack. Mazzy Star, Method Man, Offspring, U2, The Flaming Lips, and the list goes on... 33:17
thanks for another season guys! keep it up, always look forward to your videos
So quick rules question but at 26:01 when John slips the Feldon it has to be done before Jeremy moves to his end step correct? Which means the feldon comes right back in to play.
GATHERER RULING: If a player cycles a card during the end step, the creature that is exiled won’t come back until the end of the next turn.
Raziel77 ok thanks mate.
You guys should continue what you are doing until the end of time you make my life
Hungover as hell and this is the only thing getting me through the day. Love you guys, although I am all about Team Parnell!
what was the video where the director gave them different things like Stevens lands used the stack and such
let's go team suarez!!!
Partner Planeswalkers seems like a good set of rules for Commander on one game.
Each player picks 2 Planeswalkers as commanders, and then runs 98 cards, so it's simple.
3 years later and partner planeswalkers are about to exist
Oh hey, thanks for playing my deck, Stephen! Sorry it didn't perform that well for you, but it looked like you had some fun with it at least.

I used to play Sundial in my Feldon deck, but took it out. It just didn't do enough.
Honestly, this was one of the poorer Feldon decks I've seen...this one is particularly deadly
tappedout.net/mtg-decks/feldon-targaryen/
HeartwoodMtG having played it in mine for a good while I can officially say that exiling the end of turn effect once it's on the stack has been fantastic. I wish in this video Steven had gotten to use Feldon more

for the tiebreaker between Stephen and Jeremy, you should do a 2HG match with Stephen/John vs. Jeremy/Justin
Following the release of Hour of Devastation, there will be four planeswalker cards in three colors. Two Nicol Bolas, Tamiyo, and Sarkhan. How about a week where you guys play them as your commanders.
would be interesting to see a channelfireball vs starcity two head giant / emperor game...
yeah Emperor !
Peter Lervik channel fireball would destroy them
I run a Zur deck with the same idea to use astral slide for early defense and then cycle into combo cards. The deck is quite different from the one you played last time, but I got the idea from you Suarez!

11:20 for some gameplay
59:19 Stephen activates a summoning sick Feldon
Anger was in his graveyard nice try
Nathan Krueger good point
So astral slide + sundial of the infinite = perma exiled right cause the trigger doesnt resolve and its like feldons ability where it only says next end step and not every end step so the card stays gone im right right?

Awesome season guys! Looking forward to season 8!
When Justin exiled the Faith of the Devoted, what happened to the Copy Enchantment? Why did that ALSO go away?
green casted a dual caster mage and targeted it
1:07:00 most expensive mill ever?
is commander mana curve typically high like is turn 3 usually when you drop creatures
Justin should play Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind. Just cast your commander and draw cards, killing everyone with the ability from him
Wait Adam with Rakdos? is this from MTG Muddstah?
big fan of the zur cycle deck, not sure if it's been suggested before but next season I would love to see you guys go at it with a 4 horse of the Apocalypse theme, or even better you each have a theme of the 7 deadly sins and your decks theme is the sin your most guilty of
also wanted to say big fan of the show, been one of the few things keeping me sane while I'm on a twice extended business trip
The Force of Will and Liliana of The Veil mill from the alter of the Brood made me giggle.
Lol I have immediately searched for 10h of silence as the video ended. I couldnt believe it.
Video starts at 11:23
I have been trying to do a defender commander deck . Could you please play a deck that has a defender theme so i can take notes. Thanks
legendary boats! legacy weapon, predator flagship, and the 2 legendary vehicles.
What creature is Justin talking about playing next season?
As a weird experiment: what about LANDS as commanders? E.g. Urborg or Valkut, etc. - Stephen could then cast them from the command zone...
Please tell me where you picked up that amazing 1984 shirt!
You're the winner of this season in my heart Justin ❤️
That noise is the MVP of the entire season.
Another vote for a champion. Love these videos. Wish there were enough cards for Un-commander
Why didn't Justin kill Suarez then on combat step Jeremy's turn flash in the Breaching Leviathan?
Altar of the Brood. "Just a card".....That I killed all my opponents with last week in my Omnath deck, the turn after my opponent ultimated her Tamiyo, the Moon Sage. I used Zuran Orb to sacrifice my lands, then used Splendid Reclamation to get them all back, causing exactly 40 triggers on all of my stuff that mattered. Milled them all out instantly. :)
Loved the season guys
Okay, I know this is way-old at this point, but I need to know: what is the Sundial of the infinite for in Jon's list??? I don't get why it's there.
Trilaina Bloodwind astral slide things permanently?
is the video sped up at times? The movements look a bit weird at times
Random question, do you lose a point if you get killed turn 3 and therefore can never cast your commander
stephen rewinding the rewind was the best play of the game
Let's get on with the end of the season!
Faith of the devoted can trigger multiple times for a cycle?
My mistake, Suarez copied the Faith.
It would be interesting to blend a hearthstone style element into Commander,
Like being able to have a sorcery with cmc less than 3 or 2 that is in your command zone that you can cast once per turn.
Like that is your Planeswalker's cantrip, his go to spell that he just knows off by heart.
why didn't Justin cast the Leviathan at instant speed from the leyline and tap down Jeremy's zombies on jeremies turn?
Jeremy Noell we have such similar play styles I know it's a season away but I would love to see you play a Captain Sisay deck
Great season guys. Thanks for all the awesome content every week!
A question as well...since you guys showed Jon's trigger exiles when they die, doesn't his delayed trigger of grave titan returning also exile? Does it ever actually return to the battlefield?
Chances on seeing 1DH next season?
couldn't Stephen activate steel hell kite ability in response to John activating astral slide?
Hellkite has to deal damage
I see OK thx!
rule suggestion, milling justin is a point. Also best season yet!
Time stamp 22:23
Jeremy in with the tree to take the win woooooo lol was an amazing deck :)
You guys should up the stakes for the final episode. Whoever wins gets to humiliate the others in some fashion.
I'm still confused as to why Sundial of the Infinite is in the Zur deck... :(
It's more of an Astral Slide deck. You can exile your opponents' creatures with it permanently.
I'm a little confused as to why Justin didn't just wait to cast Breaching Leviathan during the beginning of the combat step of Jeremy's turn to make sure he had at least one more turn to try and win. He still had flash.
Besides that, still love your videos, keep it up!!
commander cube!!! special extended episode with the draft!
Here's a fun one. All rebels and I mean for all 4 of you. Otherwise one goes -10 points due searching a rebel out of the deck.
man, I wish Stephen and Justin were more friendly to eachother. That was the friendship of McDarby and Danny that hooked me on this series since the first time I watched.
Can you guys play Wort, the Raidmother and make it land destruction in season 8?
wh....why?? i have never read so much evil in a comment before. I mean it sounds awesome, but still.
Now Justin, why didn't you wait until Jeremy goes to begin combat to tap everything with that leviathan?
Great deck, Jonathan! >:D
Suarez: "Nobody else playing Green? Nobody else playing White? Enchantment based strategy it is!"
Justin, you should have got that rise of the dark realms, with the tutor. Breaching Leviathan was a mistake. You could have had all those blockers and swung against Jeremy then Jon.
Jeremy, I'm excited for the Duck Tales reboot.
(Jeremy) I know, right?!
Only one thing to say.
Duck Tales, woo-hoo!
there is a tie for first again Stephen got two point making him at 24 and Jeremy got four points making him also 24 points
Derek Shelby I think Stephen got first blood
Derek Shelby at 16:10 Steven got first blood. so Stephens wins
hate it when stephen wins...
I counted his first blood he still got 2 points he is at 24 and Jeremy got 4 points putting him at 24
Could you guys do a Q/A next season?
So I made an Atraxa Superfriends deck that I'm always changing and editing. I've been trading for most of these cards and have racked up a semi-decent deck
Is there any way I can submit the deck list for you guys to maybe consider using it? (Specifically Stephen because Atraxa)
Doubt they'll use it, Atraxa is heavily overplayed.
Brandon
You're not wrong, but I've only seen them play it a few times. Even if they don't play it, the input is always nice
Can you guys whip up a Machine Gun Omnath deck?
I'm bad at counting points but tie between Jeremy and Stephen for first?
finally a game where Stephen played well
@Parnell,Noell,Suarez,Green
what is your opinion on the cmdr 2017 leaks
I could've swore I just saw Suarez at Spaghetti Works in downtown Omaha
i'm a little surprised that justin doesn't have silent blade oni in the deck
I love commander vs.!
Can't wait for next season :D
