Then Atraxa gets ignored and is allowed to win. I am so sick of the "Atraxa is so good lol lol lol" mentality. It was ignored and allowed to outlast the table without doing much of anything and cleaned up.
55:30 Jeremy had 11 mana in pool and 3 counters on Crystalline Crawler, both Jon and Stephen were at 6 Infect. Proliferate 2 times with mana, Crawler goes to 5 counters, 3 mana left. Use that to proliferate twice more and he won the game then. (if im incorrect on his land pool, there's still 3 mana left over from proliferates on crawler and being able to tap it to add a counter) Guess he won anyway, so gj to him though!
I was thinking exactly the same thing. I think Jeremy is not a very good player when compared to the rest of the group. He made several mistakes in the last set of plays. Only proliferated Stephen's poison not the Ankle Biter and the Phyrexian Crusader no lifelink-thing 3 times.
(Jeremy) We're back with the Commander 2016 decks, this time with upgrades! See what themes we decided to go with on a budget. What decks have you been most excited to modify?
also while i too love to see a good unbiased game of commander the whole justin vs stephen thing would provide 90% of the material for a "commander vs: funniest moments compilation" video.
I love these videos, been going through a really hard time these last 2 months and watching commander vs has been awesome. I would love to see Nekusar again, he is my favorite commander.
I met you guys at GPVegas... I have a request... all of you play the Commanders I had you guys sign... Justin - Meren, John - Gonti, Stephen - Mimeoplasm, and Jeremy - Maelstrom Wanderer. :) thanks for signing my playmat as well!!!
I'd love to see these decks again! Maybe for the third round we could bring in a 5th person for the last deck also? Or if you had to cut one commander to include the group hug deck instead, I'd say Atraxa, just because we've seen her in three different style decks already.
I remember like one episode of the Spiderman thing. And they had a gag where Firestar and Iceman do their glowy energy transformation sequence and then it cuts to spiderman who is sitting on the ground pulling his tights up.
Man, Jeremy could've won at 54:00 He has 11 mana from lands and rocks, add one from the Crawler (crawler at 2 counters) to proliferate 3 times. Jon and Stephen go to 9 poison, Crlawer goes to 5 counters, use Crawler 4 times to proliferate for the win. Edit: Welp, looks like I was furiously commenting 13 minutes ago!
I would love to see any one of you play The Gitrog Monster again. Of all the lore for every legendary creatures, The Gitrog Monster has by far my favorite lore. I'm currently working on a decklist that doesn't involve one turn wins, and I would love to see what you guys could do with that style of deck. Thanks for these videos every week, I love what you guys do and I always watch them every morning.
For randommonium next season, you should build decks with custom win conditions with custom requirements to facilitate them. Example 1: Captain Sisay's custom win condition is to have a token creature named Kaldra and a non-token melded creature named Brisela, Voice of Nightmares under your control at the same time. Example 2: Haakon, Stromgald Scourge's win condition is for its owner to cast his commander (it doesn't have to resolve, but merely putting it on the battlefield doesn't count). Special Requirement: The Haakon player cannot have Command Beacon in his deck, but every other deck must have one.
So this episode was basically just power creep from around turn 2. That's also fun. Always nice with a joyous trip to Magical Christmas land in May. Seriously though, great episode, really nice to see some super strong decks!
I know they have there decks for the finale. Yet hopefully they'll keep doing this series and for a finale in the future. Suarez playing a fined tuned espur sharuum deck and Stephen green playing a fine tuned shu yun deck
Justin, please for the love of God, play a kozilek butcher of truth or an ulamog the infinite gyre in the season finale. We don't want to see you get milled by Stephen.
Not sure which commander, but it would be interesting to see each of the versus team to play the same commander just because I've never seen it done before
Wish Jeremy had blocked with Atraxa on Steven's last turn so he could cast it again and get another point to have a better chance for first. Have you ever thought about doing Energy Counters with Atraxa? Love what y'all are doing. Keep on keeping on!
Why don't one of you have both Bruna and Gisela from Eldritch Moon as commanders (consider them both having the 'Partner' rule) that way it will be easier to meld. Also with the new archenemy set coming out it would be nice to have a Commander Deck version of that.
When Justin starting talking about knock off super friends I was thinking of that spiderman show and this is the first time I've ever heard anyone mention it (firestar spent a full minute practicing with her powers to make her father a cup of coffee)
Can't wait for another exciting game if commander from my favorite playgroup! Justin, dig the glasses. Stephen #Chestache. And I am all about Jeremy Finally getting that 'W'! Shout-out from Illinois!
Enjoyable game. Semi-budget games are great, as are bulk-rare and the sort. Lets us see more than just uber-competitive. Same with set restriction and alphabet restriction like done earlier. I enjoyed this video, no problem with the repeated commanders.
on Jeremy's turn at about minute 56 couldn't he have proliferated 4 times? 3 off of the mana he had on board plus a fourth from the counters he could put on his creature?
Fun fact: Jeremy could have won the game on the turn he drew Vorel of the Hull Clade using the drake's proliferation. He could have proliferated three times using the mana he had, and in the process put three counters on the Crystalline Crawler, then taped it to get a fourth mana to proliferate once more for the win. I know that pointing out plays afterward is not helpful, but I wanted to see if he could win at that moment as a fun excursive, and he could so, Fun Fact!
so i might be wrong but jeremy had11 mana outside his cyrtal crawler dude on the turn he had stephen and jon at 6 infect, had he tap 4 mana and proliferate his crystal putting it at 4 and infect them to 7, proliferate again using 3 of his mana and one crystal to making them at 8 and the crystal at 4 from removing and than profliferating, than do another proliferate with his 3 land mana and one crystal to proliferate again to put them at 9 and the crystal at 4 again and than remove all 4 to proliferate them to ten. or did i math wrong somewhere?
On stephen's last attack he could have actually won. Attack with everything except bloom tender. Aurelia trigger on the stack, float 4 mana from tender. untap, reactivate bloom tender (8 mana) tap all 8 mana (16 mana in pool) activate mirror entity for 16. 34 damage straight through from den protector
I really want to see a Doran deck that's not in "Build-a-Block" seems like a really cool deck that they didn't explore enough when they put it in a video.
Still enjoy the rivalry. Me and a friend of mine are like this. some times we join forces and just wreck face. Stephen and Justin should give it a try.
I know it would be using Atraxa again, but I would LOVE to see a superfriends deck with Atraxa. I have one but I'd like to see what they do with it, me being a novice and not really knowing what I'm doing with it and all.
inoob2tube the rule is you can't sac something on its way to the grave. so if sacced before combat dmg then the creature is still blocked (unless it has trample).
Stephen is why magic is fun with friends! You just troll eachother and pick one person out and beat the living hell out of him! It's all or nothing and I like that. #TEAMGREEN!
The problem is, that isn't fun for the majority of people watching. If you're trying to provide entertainment to an audience, focusing someone out of the game fast makes the game less interactive and warps the board. It's the same reason they don't play a bunch of infinite combo decks. It makes the series less entertaining for the majority of people here to watch a fun back and forth game of multiplayer.
Why are all these people upset with Stephen for killing Justin? Justin almost killed him. I remember watching these videos a few year ago and it felt like Justin won way too often. Not only that, it seemed like people didn't target him enough. I'm glad to see him losing more often.
I love the commander 2016 decks! so anytime I get to see someone playing a spiced up version is always awesome. I know that yidris isn't the best, but it's my favorite deck because he has the most pizzazz
Man. Because of how Aurelia triggers, he could have gone to combat, before declaring attackers, float 4 mana with bloom tender, then untap it with Aurelia and then put all of the mana into Mirror Entity. The creatures would have been huge! Great game to watch!
It just sucks that it had to be Justin with Yidris. TBH, I think that of the five main generals of the decks, Yidris is the only one who can actually hold the line against Saskia. Atraxa's proliferation engine, Breya's toolbox of artifacts, and K&T's bromance-for-everyone are all just too slow for Saskia's relentlessness. It's smart for the Saskia player to choose Yidris for her effect early, then attack a slower player to whittle him down along with the others. Later casts would depend on the board state. A few friends of mine did play a five-player game with all of them. I was Atraxa. Unfortunately, our Yidris player fell behind in lands and Saskia ran over everyone.
Breya kills any of the other 3 with her -4/-4 ability. Unless the Saskia player keeps her off the table she's just going to hold mana up and kill Saskia over and over when she comes down.
I'm not saying she's worse. I'm sure there are fast and punishing Breya decks that can keep Saskia in check. I'm just saying (generally) Saskia and Yidris are all about an explosive early-game, beating down the others before they can stop them. While Breya and Atraxa are best in mid-game, with their respective engines fueling their strategies of disruption/control/recycling (Breya) and pressuring with mad stacks of counters (Atraxa). And K&T (at least my K&T deck) are late-game, getting everyone's deck going, seeming inconspicuous, and then throwing a wrench in the game and pulling it into their favor out of nowhere, probably after a couple others are eliminated.
TFW you see there's a twitter update from @JParnell1 Wednesday afternoon (EU time of course), but you still need to finish this one thing for today before you can chill T_T Anyway, go #TeamParnell Now just need to work for another hour before I can watch...
Watching this just makes me miss my Atraxa deck. It got stolen, and just the base deck now is $100 or more if I want it in English. And I'd upgraded it the super friends way... Twas an expensive loss. But seeing a budget friendly version makes me consider getting some of the pieces.
Game starts at 12:30
Then Atraxa gets ignored and is allowed to win. I am so sick of the "Atraxa is so good lol lol lol" mentality. It was ignored and allowed to outlast the table without doing much of anything and cleaned up.
Paul Gaither - I like the card but it's overrated. I've never struggled to deal with Atraxa.
I wait for this every week
Me too my dude
Me too my dudes
me too, my dudeses
Me too my dudeseses
me too my dudeseseses!
i love how justin tazed everyone but ended up getting a 900 volt shock back from stephen.
Josiah Munger was looking for the other person that caught that cuz I didn't want to type that out
Yea, this.
I was thinking exactly the same thing. I think Jeremy is not a very good player when compared to the rest of the group. He made several mistakes in the last set of plays. Only proliferated Stephen's poison not the Ankle Biter and the Phyrexian Crusader no lifelink-thing 3 times.
He's bad at the game, that's why he didn't see it
Yeah... I was about to type this all out haha.
38:22 Don't think I didnt notice that sneaky focus shift lol. Hats off to whoever edit that in.
This was the best episode in a while. Good interactive game!
(Jeremy) We're back with the Commander 2016 decks, this time with upgrades! See what themes we decided to go with on a budget. What decks have you been most excited to modify?
Star City Games Jeremy, I love all of your Hamilton references
Normally I hate poison decks, but I'm glad you gave Stephen what he deserved.
Star City Games Get Stephen and Justin to stop the focus, it's boring
Jeremy, this game was masterful on your part. Your highest skill level thus far
He couldve won with infect at 57:00 but didnt o.0 How is that masterful ? :D
@15:37 Stephen, why didn't you attack with Saskia? Did you forget it has Vigilance & Haste?
justin's been more salty over less. good on him for taking a pretty brutal loss with grace.
also while i too love to see a good unbiased game of commander the whole justin vs stephen thing would provide 90% of the material for a "commander vs: funniest moments compilation" video.
this is my favorite show each week to watch.
I love these videos, been going through a really hard time these last 2 months and watching commander vs has been awesome. I would love to see Nekusar again, he is my favorite commander.
you doing any better?
Hope he is
Instablaster
"This is going to be the greatest deck I ever built..or will be a massive trainwreck." - Those are the BEST Decks to see in commander.
Me too thanks it's most of what I build
I hope this series never ends. I love coming back week after week for another amazing game of Commander Versus
It's still going
I met you guys at GPVegas... I have a request... all of you play the Commanders I had you guys sign... Justin - Meren, John - Gonti, Stephen - Mimeoplasm, and Jeremy - Maelstrom Wanderer. :) thanks for signing my playmat as well!!!
No decklists?
www.starcitygames.com/article/35164_Commander-VS-Commander-2016-And-A-Couple-Hundred-Bucks.html
Awesome video guys! Thanks as always for the amazing content :)
At 15:30 ish did Stephen forget Saskia has haste and can attack aswell?
Dude Parnell! I used to watch the Spiderman and Friends show on PBS when I was kid! It was so cheesy and fun :)
@Stephen: Any reason why Saskia didn't attack immediately when she first etb?
I'd love to see these decks again! Maybe for the third round we could bring in a 5th person for the last deck also? Or if you had to cut one commander to include the group hug deck instead, I'd say Atraxa, just because we've seen her in three different style decks already.
Brandon Gray why didn't they play the lover boys, anyway? I mean either time, not just now.
I remember like one episode of the Spiderman thing. And they had a gag where Firestar and Iceman do their glowy energy transformation sequence and then it cuts to spiderman who is sitting on the ground pulling his tights up.
Man, Jeremy could've won at 54:00
He has 11 mana from lands and rocks, add one from the Crawler (crawler at 2 counters) to proliferate 3 times.
So this episode was basically just power creep from around turn 2. That's also fun. Always nice with a joyous trip to Magical Christmas land in May.
Seriously though, great episode, really nice to see some super strong decks!
As I pointed out, all of the first three cards I cast are in the Yidris precon.
Nice to see the power of the pre-con deck with a lucky draw, in that case :D
Cant live without you guys :D please make an old school commander play, old framed cards (up to 7th edition) only !
Love you guys please mention me John Duggan but seriously keep up the good work and Justin kick Stevens butt next week
Are you planning to do anything with the commander anthologies product when that launches?
12:27 Start of the game
Josh Wagner thanks
love the always sunny reference
Thought yesterday was Wednesday and was getting mad waiting for this. Then realized it was Tuesday and was sad. It was a rollercoaster of emotions
Is there a link for the decklists?
when stephen forgets that his commander has haste and vigilance...
have you tried defense of the heart to get the melds out
Season finale next week dang I love these. Can't wait till next season.
I know they have there decks for the finale. Yet hopefully they'll keep doing this series and for a finale in the future. Suarez playing a fined tuned espur sharuum deck and Stephen green playing a fine tuned shu yun deck
This was probably the best episode of this season.
Stephen Green is a hero.
yes justin, you died like an adult. by watching someone else get punched and dying from the shockwave
Fun video to watch, I started commander with 2016 and they are all fun decks
Justin, please for the love of God, play a kozilek butcher of truth or an ulamog the infinite gyre in the season finale. We don't want to see you get milled by Stephen.
Ryan Etherton A Darksteel or Blightsteel Colossus would be enough as well
I luv it ,the "over the top cruelty" of Stephen is great xD
Not sure which commander, but it would be interesting to see each of the versus team to play the same commander just because I've never seen it done before
Stephen is absolutely killing it in that Snatch tshirt.
There’s a hiss in the background making this game way too suspenseful lol
where can I get the dice you guys are using?
What planeswalker was Jeremy playing?
Justin's hand was stacked.
Then he died
I love Ydris. I put Maelstrom Wanderer in the deck and it's super fun :D Looking forward to next week ^_^
Wish Jeremy had blocked with Atraxa on Steven's last turn so he could cast it again and get another point to have a better chance for first. Have you ever thought about doing Energy Counters with Atraxa? Love what y'all are doing. Keep on keeping on!
Once again I call upon Justin Parnell to hail to the king baby. Specifically a traitor king, Sedris to be precise
i like the recent increase in power level for the decks. 1 hr is a good length for a commander game.
Whats the deck list of Jeremy
Jeremy could have won with the crystal crawler by profing itself to make a total 16 mana
Please record your matches in 4K (UHD). It would be amazing!
That loss was pretty disheartening but to be fair Justin had been the biggest threat since turn 2 waste not.
YES
Looking forward to next season's video with commander 2017!
Can't wait for another exciting game if commander from my favorite playgroup! Justin, dig the glasses. Stephen #Chestache. And I am all about Jeremy Finally getting that 'W'! Shout-out from Illinois!
Glad to see the Atraxa pain. I would love to see a superfriends version of her sometime in the future.
Yet another great video!!
could you do each player choose and enhance Commander preconceived
pre con from 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016?
Didn't Jeremy have lethal if he tapped the crawler to add a counter? Because proliferate adds counters to it
(Jeremy) Yeah, I mention in the outro that I miscounted. I was tunneled on Atraxa, and was a sad panda when then killed it.
Great video as always guys! Love to see some more of this epics Commanders 2016 :D
The best thing of the channel indeed, keep going nice ^^
1:11:26 Kaldra assembled www.mtggoldfish.com/articles/commander-clash-s2-episode-29-anything-goes
What am i missing? why did justin only take 2 damage for first blood from 3/4 saskia who had justin named?
Max Hysmith she didn't swing
Enjoyable game. Semi-budget games are great, as are bulk-rare and the sort. Lets us see more than just uber-competitive. Same with set restriction and alphabet restriction like done earlier. I enjoyed this video, no problem with the repeated commanders.
on Jeremy's turn at about minute 56 couldn't he have proliferated 4 times? 3 off of the mana he had on board plus a fourth from the counters he could put on his creature?
Awesome shirt Stephen.
Watching Stephen bully Justin for 40 minutes is enough for me
True. However, Justin has been condensing to Stephen in previous videos and made Stephen focus his wrath on him. It is unhealthy and not entertaining
Couldn't Jeremy have proliferated four times towards the end? Or did I miss count his mana?
(Jeremy) I could have, I was just too focused on the line of winning that turn with Atraxa in play. I talk about it a bit in the outro.
Star City Games haha sorry just got to the part where you corrected yourself. My bad. I should watch before jumping the gun.
Hmmm, will Jonathan get a point for anguished unmaking aurelia? I mean he did completely save Jeremy.
he didnt save jeremy, he has enough life to survive the attack without the help of John.
True, although he would have had to do different blocks.
why did saskia only hit for 1 first blood damage?
Chris saskia didn't attack.
On stephen's last attack he could have actually won.
Attack with everything except bloom tender.
Aurelia trigger on the stack, float 4 mana from tender.
untap, reactivate bloom tender (8 mana)
tap all 8 mana (16 mana in pool)
activate mirror entity for 16.
34 damage straight through from den protector
dude im only 22 and i loved that show as a kid. same situation i had cool parents show it to me!
I always enjoy these modified pre cons. I'm hopeful the next set will be terrific
I really want to see a Doran deck that's not in "Build-a-Block" seems like a really cool deck that they didn't explore enough when they put it in a video.
Every episode I grow more and more to team Parnell.
Still enjoy the rivalry. Me and a friend of mine are like this. some times we join forces and just wreck face. Stephen and Justin should give it a try.
I know it would be using Atraxa again, but I would LOVE to see a superfriends deck with Atraxa. I have one but I'd like to see what they do with it, me being a novice and not really knowing what I'm doing with it and all.
what was jeremy's planeswalker
i thought you were not able to block and sac during combat
inoob2tube the rule is you can't sac something on its way to the grave. so if sacced before combat dmg then the creature is still blocked (unless it has trample).
I use all of the new cards Jon added minus goblin welder in my artifact deck
Stephen is why magic is fun with friends! You just troll eachother and pick one person out and beat the living hell out of him! It's all or nothing and I like that. #TEAMGREEN!

I have already subscribed.Hey everyone in the comments, watch this video- there's the share.Just liked it.And screw the 4th one...
Man. Because of how Aurelia triggers, he could have gone to combat, before declaring attackers, float 4 mana with bloom tender, then untap it with Aurelia and then put all of the mana into Mirror Entity. The creatures would have been huge! Great game to watch!
I love how Justin could have survived the first Aurelia turn.
First game I have ever felt bad for parnell.
It just sucks that it had to be Justin with Yidris.

A few friends of mine did play a five-player game with all of them. I was Atraxa. Unfortunately, our Yidris player fell behind in lands and Saskia ran over everyone.
Clearly we've encountered different power level Breya decks if you think she's too slow.
TheMrEM4N we're not talking about comp edh dude
Breya kills any of the other 3 with her -4/-4 ability. Unless the Saskia player keeps her off the table she's just going to hold mana up and kill Saskia over and over when she comes down.

Anyway, go #TeamParnell
Now just need to work for another hour before I can watch...

shouldn't just in have been at 34 then 31 at the start of game?
looks like it didn't matter.
keep up the good work 👍
I want to see you guys play turtle and unicorn tribal decks.
My boy Stephen Green! Dat Aurelia #teamgreen
