  • Your Sponge Filter Setup is very quick and easy. An aquarium sponge filter is cheap and efficient. Your sponge filter provides both mechanical and biological filtration. Sponge filter modification will help reduce unwanted sponge filter noise. We'll discuss the aquarium sponge filter hack and the difference of a modified and un-modified sponge filter aquarium.

never fed that food, so dont know the specs. In general you want to keep the protien to a min with mbuna and focus more on heavy veggies. Northfin has a great veggie formula perfect for mbuna. check it out here... amzn.to/3kkRr0K

I used to use internal and canisters. Recently we had a power cut in our area which rendered my filters useless. So I've now installed a sponge filter in all tanks as airpumps drive these and they can be run off usb.
I was able to remove each of the remaining pieces of spokes with a pair of pliers to easily insert and remove the airstone.
As always thanks so much for the vid Kev.

That was awesome! Well done Kev. I’m going to give that a go. Thanks for the video and tips! Two thumbs up. 👍👍
Hey Kev; just a little tip, if you boil your kettle and pour half a cup of water into a mug and put the end of the clear air pipe that the black plastic tip needs to be secure to into the hot water in the mug for about 10 seconds to soften it up, the black tip adapter will go on the clear air pipe a lot easier. A little extra prep I know, but you save some frustration at the other end of the process.

They should make decorations like a Rock cave with sponge filter accessory on the inside. So I took a hollowed out fake Rock cave. Inserted sponge filter inside of it. There is no bottom to the Rock cave. I took my Dremel and dremeled holes all around it everywhere.
