  • Using the API Freshwater Aquarium Master Test Kit is simple. We can test for Ammonia, Nitrite, and Nitrate levels in the water along with PH levels of your water. Your API freshwater master test kit is easy to measure and read your results. API freshwater master test kit directions can be difficult to read and understand. We will break down the step by step procedure to achieve accurate results.
    Pro-Tip...
    Having crystal clear and clean-looking water DOES NOT mean your water is healthy for your fish. The only way to determine that is by testing your water. Testing is a must in the fish keeping hobby. You can not control what is not measured!

      Great video! Mixing the test solution is so important as it can change results. Mix all the test solutions well, especially the ammonia and Nitrate test solutions before testing. Also, be sure to clean the test tubes well after each use as a dirty tube can affect test results.

    Every time I stumble across a kaveman instructional video for something, whether its filters, kits, tanks, whatever, I am glad for it. You keep things as simple as they need to be, and you keep it real. There are honestly not very many people who can teach effectively like this. You're one of them.

    The nitrate MUST be read in natural day light, not under a lamp or any other artificial lighting. I stand right in front of my screen door every time and can see the correct color very easy. Before doing this I was doing a lot of unnecessary water changes thinking the liquid was red under a lamp when it was really orange. The tube will often look red just looking at it but when in natural day light the correct color will come through, which is more often than not a darker orange.

      People also go wrong by holding it against the white card. That will show a higher level. As you say, light needs to pass through the tube for an accurate reading. 👍

    • @TheRealLaughingGravy
      @TheRealLaughingGravy ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The 10 ppm and 20 ppm color blocks look EXACTLY the same shade of orange to me. I can never tell what my nitrate reading really is. Usually I just guess. (I record them in a log book.)

    You are supposed to hold the bottle completely vertical to allow even distribution of the droplets coming out of the solution. And the low point on the water or the trough of the dimple is supposed to be on the line

    Curious, I have a less than 3 week old small 10 gallon aquarium with 1 betta.. water is cloudy. Using this same test, ammonia and Nitrite is 0 except the nitrates are reading 40 PPM. Should I do a water change or “do nothing” as your other video says about cloudy water in a new tank?

    I follow you for all my doubts. I have a question my water is from Borewell very thing is normal when I check the parameters with API kit but my "High range"Ph is always 8.2. What should I do? I have a 9.9 Kamfa. in a 280 liter tank. Kamfa is a manmade fish and has characters of a chiclid too.
