Amsterdam is the capital and most populous city of the Netherlands (Holland) with a population of 2,480,394 in the metropolitan area. Found within the Dutch province of North Holland, Amsterdam is colloquially referred to as the "Venice of the North", due to the large number of canals that form a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Amsterdam was founded at the Amstel, which was dammed to control flooding; the city's name derives from the Amstel dam. Originating as a small fishing village in the late 12th century, Amsterdam became one of the most important ports in the world during the Dutch Golden Age of the 17th century, and became the leading center for the finance and trade sectors. In the 19th and 20th centuries, the city expanded and many new neighborhoods and suburbs were planned and built. The 17th-century canals of Amsterdam and the 19-20th century Defence Line of Amsterdam are on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Sloten, annexed in 1921 by the municipality of Amsterdam, is the oldest part of the city, dating to the 9th century.

Thank you for this. Really appreciate all your hard work!
Glad you enjoy it!
It's a beautiful city view, would love to drive far enough in Amsterdam to see it.
You should!
Again very nice. I did admire your driving skills in this city centre, streets are narrow and actually less suitable for car traffic, especially with al those bikes around and al those limitations en route. I was born and raised in Amsterdam, and i still like to visit it, but usually i take the train, because Central Station is right in the centre. And municipal transport if necessary is excellent. But walking around in the old city centre can easily be done and one can see a lot this way.
You are lucky to be born in Amsterdam, I just love this city.
So nice in Amsterdam. Perfect travel destination

THANK YOU SO SO MUCH, GOD BLESS YOU ALWAYS. MY SOUL IS SOOOOOOOOOOOO HAPPY RIGHT NOW.

Amsterdam very clean kept up not run down like some USA cities. Looks like most people have a small car or bike. Pretty city nice place to live or visit. Is it high cost to live there too.?Nice, Take care you yours THANKS for cool video sir.
Trolleys too very smart !!
Amsterdam is a beautiful city, but if you follow Sigi's other films you wil see that the surroundings are too. In my opinion one disadvantage is that driving through Amsterdam is not exactly a joy, especially bike and motorbike riders are a pain in the ...., they don't seem to have respect to any rules. And parking a car is very expensive. Amsterdam city centre is quite easy to walk through and you will enjoy the sights much more. Otherwise you can also take any sort of boat trip, from boat taxi to "rondvaartboot".
Thanks!
The many narrow streets named after flowers, herbs, animals and trees (like Bloemgracht (flower canal), Elandsgracht (moose canal), are in an old neighborhoood called 'de Jordaan', named after the river Jordan of the bible (some have another explanation), which was very poor a century ago. Now it is a so-called gentrified city neighborhood, filled with yuppies on cargobikes, used for transporting their kids. The, often very small, houses are immensly expensive.
The rows of 4-storey houses (without elevators) are typical for Amsterdam. You so do not find these anywhere else in the Netherlands.
Amsterdam is such a unique and beautiful city, and I love the narrow streets with all the canals.
Although Amsterdam is a nice place to visit, taking a car is not the best way of sightseeing. Take a bike or go on foot. Amsterdam has an excellent public transport system to take you everywhere. Cycling is great too, you can rent a bike. Or even buy a bike from one of the many bike shops and at the end of your holiday, you can sell the bike back.
Thanks for the tips!
Amsterdam is a great city and this was an interesting drive that's for sure!!
Thanks for watching!
Are Americans allowed to travel to Amsterdam ?
Probably not 😁
@@SigisTravelVideos I just saw that they are 😌

Why do tourists think that the Netherlands equals Amsterdam? There are so many cities and villages far more beautifull than that horrible fake touristic Amsterdam.
I'm Dutch and I know.
I don't think tourists think that the Netherlands equals Amsterdam. Amsterdam is very unique with all the Grachten (Canals) that you won't see anywhere else in the world.
