Your journey has been so helpful for my rehab. I'm 5 months post op and my current PT just cleared me for 'return to sport' because I tested at 90% static strength. Lol, skiing right now would be lunacy. Time to find a more performance oriented PT 👍
Same issue! I am 8 months post op. I am seeking one with more SC background, I had one that helped from 6 to 8 months. Ready to hit the slopes but not sure yet. Keep posting.
I’m currently 2 weeks post op from ACL surgery…. Very depressing process. I had a firefighter job lined up but unable to take due to this. I love seeing your videos. I’m hoping i can start walking soon. & hopefully run with 2-3 months. I’m an active person so hates being a homebody :(
I do a smorgasbord of things for work including ski and bike and put stuff on the internet and freelance marketing and copywriting and whatever else comes up. Sage is a software engineer.
Hows the hamstring graft? I had mine in 2010 and so far so good. Now left knee is probably also needs ACL recon :( In America it seems patella tendon graft is preferred, so why hamstring?
You are correct it does seem patellar tendon is preferred. My patellars are slightly too narrow to safely take the graft from so hamstring was the strong second choice. It does take a heck of a lot of work to build the hamstring muscles back up afterward (and it hurts like a mf after surgery) but no complaints otherwise.
@@DelilahCupp in the UK it seems hamstring graft is preferred. Even though the patellar tendon may be "stronger" to go on to debilitate your patellar seems bit wrong. Your videos are helping me anyway. MRI results are imminent but seems like my acl is buggered as are my meniscus it seems. Will be keeping up with the progress nonetheless!
When I get to more aggressive skiing later on yes. I am going without the brace to start while I am in my zero risk skiing phase so I can continue to build strength equally while skiing and not get too dependent on the brace
This is exactly what I needed to hear. I've had a very frustrating 13 months. Not only did I do my ACL but my patella tendon in Jan 23. Lots of things going on in between. 3 procedures in total. Including PT's. Sadly, though I want to just be able to rely on their "expertise" that is just not the case.

@@DelilahCupp That’s so cool! Thanks for the insight! I was wondering what jobs you guys had that created so much freedom to be outdoors all the time!

are you gonna go with the knee brace this time too?
