Canon probably wouldn't recommend this solution, but here's how I got it to work with my HP laptop running Windows 10. After it failed to pair with my router, I was left with a the antenna icon with an 'X' by it instead of signal bars. In a bout of frustration I pressed the 'i' button at the bottom of the 'Wireless' group of buttons in hope that would tell me something on the small LCD panel. What it did instead was print out 2 sheets of network diagnostic information specific to that printer. One thing it listed that stood out to me was that it has an access point, a proper SSID and an auto-generated password to go with it. That means your wifi capable computer can connect to *it* as if it were a wireless router. So, I connected to it and used the password that it printed out, and without much surprise Windows connected to it like a router without internet access. I checked the Network tab of Windows' file explorer to see if the printer was listed, and yep it was there. Then, just to see what would happen, I typed some nonsense into Notepad and clicked 'Print', and I was able to get through the whole printing process as if it were connected with a USB cable. In other words, it worked flawlessly! I'd like to make mention that I didn't manually install ANY drivers whatsoever for the printer. All I did was connect to it's wifi access point. Windows 10 has a (bad) habit of downloading and installing drivers for any new piece of hardware you connect to a computer. So, it's plausible that it downloaded some drivers for the printer once I connected to its access point. Keep in mind I got this to work with Windows 10, so I can't guarantee this will work for ChromeOS, or Android, or iOS, or your favorite flavor of Linux distro. Your mileage may vary, as they say! OH! and also, this printer has a secret settings menu that can accessed like the settings on a router. You have to connect to its access point, type its IP into your web browser's URL bar, then, if I recall correctly it makes you type in a password to log into it (don't worry, it's the same password you use to connect to it). After all that, you'll be able to modify quite a few of the printer's settings through a web interface. I doubt anyone will read any of this, but whatever, this was a worthwhile journey of exploration for me, if nothing else!
So after wasting my time with other TH-cam videos, all I had to do to connect my printer to my laptop effectively was PUSH the network button on my printer and THEN push the WPS button on my router. That's it! 🤓👌🏼 Now it works after all that trial and error lol 🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️

To anyone trying to connect the printer to their wi-fi you MUST Have a 2.4Ghz connection enabled. I looked at the specs page of this printer after spending almost 2 days trying to connect it. It does not support 5Ghz wi-fi. Why Canon does not state this on their instructions or anywhere on this video is beyond me but I hope this helps someone
Hi! Thanks for letting your fellow users know about this. The PIXMA TS3122 requires 2.4GHz Wi-Fi as stated in the product's specifications and at multiple points within the printer's manual. Most 5GHz routers are also backward compatible with 2.4GHz signals. Thanks for choosing Canon!

I have a question. Do you have to have the printer up close to the router or can it be in a separate room? I've been trying to connect it internet the last few days and it never seems to work.
Hi! Routers can vary in their signal strength, and their ability to communicate with devices throughout a home or office can be affected by the size of the building and the materials used in the walls and floors. If your printer's in a room with a weak signal--a room where you also encounter connectivity issues with other Wi-Fi devices--then it may help to bring the router and printer closer together or to eliminate any physical obstructions between the two, such as walls, columns, or large appliances. We hope this helps!
I have no idea what I am doing, but got it hooked right up to my wireless device, my phone. I would like to know if I can also add my kindle fire? Help please if yes!! Thank you
Hi, Guy! If you'd rather use a cable, you can connect your PIXMA TS3122 to your computer or laptop via a standard A-to-B USB cable which is available separately. We hope this helps!
Okay, what about connecting the printer to an open WIFI? Such as a hotel WIFI or say like Starbucks? To where I do not have access to click the WPS button on the router?

I have been trying for over an hour to connect this to my router. It will not connect. Omg this is so frustrating. My Brother printers I connected in less than 10 minutes. It shouldn't be this hard to connect. Returning this to the store.

Hi, Marc! A wireless router can make things easy, especially if you have multiple devices that need to work with your printer. If a router is unavailable, your PIXMA TS3122 can communicate with one device at a time via Wi-Fi Direct. Be sure to check the printer's manual for more information on this feature. We hope this helps!
it looks like we have to have an UNPROTECTED wifi router for easy setup. My stupid Arris TG582 is a pain in the ass trying to get the TS3122 to connect to the network...all because i have it password-protected
Hi! If your network credentials have changed, we recommend carrying out the steps shown in the video. Hi, Jazzy! If using a router isn't an option, your PIXMA TS3122 can communicate directly with your computer when the printer is put in Access Point Mode. Look for the "Wireless Direct" option in the printer's menu. When you activate that, your computer should see the printer as an available access point. Hope that helps!
My printer has already been setup and worked fine previously. The printer is plugged into my laptop via USB cable, however, the printer is not connected to the WIFI network. Is there a way to connect to the WIFI without setting up the printer from start to finish?
Hi! The drivers must be installed for the wireless connection also, so all steps must be performed in order for your printer to work on the WiFi. We hope this helps!
I have an Alexa. If this is through wi-fi, why can't i connect through Alexa? why do I have to directly log on to the priner to print from my phone or tablet? Why does it not just pair? I hate HP, but at least it is set up and device friendly!
Hi, Mieka! Once you've got your PIXMA TS3122 set up on your network, you can have it perform certain functions by talking to your Amazon Alexa. For more information on this feature, visit canon.us/ehnvp Printing items like documents and photos will still require you to operate the device where that item resides. That means that if you wish to print a photo that's on your phone, for example, you'll need to make sure your phone is set up to talk to your printer and you can then give the print command via your phone. Hope this clears things up!
We're very sorry to see you're having trouble getting connected. Visit our wireless help guide at: Canon.us/pmye If you're still experiencing trouble, you'll find all available technical support options within My Canon Account at: canon.us/account
such a waste of time I just purchased this printer and regret buying this cheap printer I guess the saying is right "buy cheap, get cheap". next time just add a link on the manual to set up using youtube since the instructions failed to do so.
Brand new printer. power on the printer. hit "Stop" and it should show 0 (zero) devices connected. I'm using a Hitron CODA-4589 cable modem Go into Wireless, Basic Settings, WPS Enabled (turn it on) Go into Wireless, Basic Settings, WPS. "Push Button" Push and hold Wifi button on the printer. It connected!
I’ll be returning this pos ASAP. Worst thing I’ve ever tried to use. I’ve never had any problems setting up other wireless connections but this... naw it ain’t happening.

@@CanonUSASupport that dosent work is there technical support to call?
I have been trying for over an hour to connect this to my router. It will not connect. Omg this is so frustrating. My Brother printers I connected in less than 10 minutes. It shouldn't be this hard to connect. Returning this to the store.
We can help get you connected. Take a look at our Wireless Help guide at: Canon.us/hgrep If you're still having trouble. please contact our printer technical support team at: 1-800-OK-CANON (1-800-652-2666) Monday-Friday: 8:00 am to 8:00 pm ET and they'll be happy to help you out.
They never answered my call! Waited for half an hour and nobody answered my call!!
So you have to have a wireless router?
I had to change my wi-fi password and now my printer wont connect to to network. How do I fix this?
Hi! If your network credentials have changed, we recommend carrying out the steps shown in the video. Using your router's WPS feature will allow your printer and your router to re-establish communication with each other.
If you've done all that and you're still having trouble, our US-based tech support team will be glad to provide additional help. Call them weekdays at 1-800-OK-CANON (1-800-652-2666) or visit canon.us/SupportYT for 24/7 support options.
Hope this helps!
It wasn't that bad tbh, just make sure you nabbed the right driver. these comments exaggerate.
The damn thing won't connect to my router.

Very helpful. Thank you sir
what if you're setting this printer at a business with no access to the router?????
Hi, Jazzy! If using a router isn't an option, your PIXMA TS3122 can communicate directly with your computer when the printer is put in Access Point Mode. Look for the "Wireless Direct" option in the printer's menu. When you activate that, your computer should see the printer as an available access point.
Hope that helps!
This is why HP is better.
We hope this helps!
thank you all, I was thinking there was something wrong with me . but I will try the laptop to the printer that was written about by Patience.
For more information on this feature, visit canon.us/ehnvp
Printing items like documents and photos will still require you to operate the device where that item resides. That means that if you wish to print a photo that's on your phone, for example, you'll need to make sure your phone is set up to talk to your printer and you can then give the print command via your phone.
Hope this clears things up!
My printer is already setup I just cant get the wifi to connect.
I'm using a Hitron CODA-4589 cable modem
Go into Wireless, Basic Settings, WPS Enabled (turn it on)
Go into Wireless, Basic Settings, WPS. "Push Button"
Push and hold Wifi button on the printer.
It connected!
I’ll be returning this pos ASAP. Worst thing I’ve ever tried to use. I’ve never had any problems setting up other wireless connections but this... naw it ain’t happening.

Unbelievable. I don't have WPS! Where to go than? Ever wondered why you don't sell as many printers? Why can;t I use my cellphone to configure the wireless like 99% of the wi-fi enabled devices out there?

I'm so irritated. I have had top of the line printers that took seconds to connect, hp, etc. This is the worse experience of my life all these hours. How can I connect with USB cable? I've tried but it doesn't work.
Hi, Flaka!
When you use a USB cable, your computer should be able to immediately recognize your PIXMA TS3122 when the printer is turned on. If you haven't already done so, we strongly recommend installing the software that came on the CD packaged with your printer. This CD contains the driver and all of the printer's apps. The CD's installation should start automatically and it will walk you through the process which only takes a few minutes.
If you're unable to use the CD, you can download all of its contents for free at canon.us/brjb4

The triangle sign is lit on my printer why is that? Pls reply
Hi, Hikigaya!
When the alarm lamp lights up, it will usually be accompanied by an error code on the printer's LCD screen. Please note the error code you're seeing and check out our knowledge base at canon.us/SupportYT to see what that error code means and how to correct it.
Hope this helps!
Oww ok actually thanks for the reply. I found out what is wrong and it is actually functioning properly now thanks for your reply!
