    I went on X2 with my friend during a school field trip. Ive known my friend for a long time and SFMM was his first ever theme park. He is a very quiet person so I was already excited to see his reactions. We first went on Tatsu, which was his first ever roller coaster, and surprisingly, he didnt scream in fear, he actually enjoyed it. Towards the end of the day, we went on X2. When putting on the vest restraint, he was starting to get worried as he thought it wasnt tight enought. Ride attendant came, checked 2x, said he was fine. Once we were on the lift hill, he was getting even morw worried. Then came, THE DROP, it was insane and he screamed out of actual fear! I was scared too but after hearing him scream, I kept laughing throughout the ride. Best ride experience ever!

    When I was at Kings Dominion in August, it started raining while I was waiting in line for Twisted Timbers. I closed my eyes when I got on because I knew from experience that being hit by rain on a rollercoaster can be extremely painful.
    Honestly, riding Twisted Timbers with my eyes shut was one of the scariest experiences I’ve had on any roller coaster in recent memory. Even though I was familiar with the layout (this was the fifth time I rode it that day), I couldn’t prepare myself for any of the airtime moments. Each time we got to one it felt like I was being dragged down further and further into the pits of hell.
    Kinda tempted to try it again on another ride

    UK-based riders will likely be familiar with the insanity of Nemesis at Alton Towers, but the Zero-G roll straight out of the helix is absolutely a demonic element, brought to us by the madlad that is John Wardley. The dramatic shift in positive to negative Gs is just... bonkers.

    Thanks for the love for the PNE/Playland's coaster. It's what would be considered my home park and I remember riding that thing with my dad when I was young. I made the mistake, once, of sitting on the outside of my dad. He was 200lbs or so, I was maybe 50lbs. Ouch! Gotta love the '80s! To this day I still feel like i'm going to fall out of the train and the lap bar is at least 6" from my legs! The lift hill might be even more demonic after it has aged, you don't roll up it, you float.

    The POVs of The Beast never do that helix justice. It earned the name "the most terrifying finale to any roller coaster" and I agree.
    It's LOUD, it's VIOLENT, and unless you've experienced it yourself, you have no idea.
    The hill leading into it slowly tilts sideways as you go down, which is also a very unique element and it builds a sickening anticipation for what's about to hit you.

    All of el Torro’s airtime is demonic. I was practically standing when I rode it and that was my first ejector experience. I also totally agree with you about I305’s first turn. Rhough I’d add the 3 super whippy banked turns to my list. I haven’t ridden most of the other coasters on your list but they’re all on my bucketlist. I’d also add Kah’s launch and Twisted Timbers’ airtime in the back row at night in the rain.

    Sadly closed now due to very high parts and maintenance costs but I absolutely loved (not everyone did!) the crazy lift hill /drop of G Force at Drayton Manor- the unique sensation of the lift hill chain ending partway through an inversion (vertical loop) so that you were basically launched like you were falling backwards head first and arching over was as awesome as it was unique- very intense and high pressure, hence not to everyone's taste, but I totally loved it and hope it returns on a future coaster in some way. We're so used to conventional elements these unusual ones give that bit of brain scrambling gravity remixing fun where you just know how unique the particular sensations you're experiencing are. Surprise playful elements are fun too, such as The Smiler's early inversion and even the minor ones such as Shockwave's fake first drop before the real one. More of this please designer peeps!

  • @smilerpunk922
    @smilerpunk922 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I have to go with the smiler's first heartline roll, in the station there's just this void that the trains go into when they dispatch and inside of it is just a steep banked turn into a heartline roll in the dark with a few strobe lights, really good part of the ride

  • @Soonjai

    Without thinking about a specific order:
    The Headchopper Airtime Moment near the end of Untamed: The ride dives into the Support Structure with Headchoppers that look really uncomfortably close and for whatever, insane reason they have a really strong ejector moment in that mess.
    Taron's Airtime-Transition out of a Tunnel: Following the first turn Taron dives into a Left Turn-Tunnel and then goes uphill in the same Turn, the moment you exit the tunnel the track features a whippy transition into a right-turn while leveling out at the same time. This results in a Ejector Moment while changing direction at full speed. Because it is at the end of a dark Tunnel you really don't see this coming.
    The Launch on Novgorod: Like all Gertlauer Launch Coasters Novgorod has a small drop before the Launchtrack. In Novgorods case this happens in pitch black darkness after a Dark Ride section. The little drop happens out of nowhere, you are then launched forwards with unrivaled intensity when it comes to LSM launches. The entire Launch Track is in complete Darkness and at the end of the launch is a uphill right turn that finally shoots you out of the building and into an airtime hill. that you still can't see because at the time the airtime kicks in your eyes are still trying to adjust to the daylight again.
    The entire 2nd half of Monster at Walygator: This B&M Invert is a clone of Raptor at Cedar Point. Walygator bought this coaster used from Japans Expoland. In France someone, for whatever reason (Probably to save on cost of actually being able to use it) decided that they wouldn't install the Block Brakes. They assembled the Evacuation / Service Platform complete with the ladder, but no brakes where ever installed. While it means that they wouldn't be able to run the coaster with 3 Trains (which to be fair wouldn't have happened anyway as attendance there is usually too low to justify even running 2 Trains) it would also mean that there is no way to use the Block Brake as a means of Trimming the Speed down. The result is a very Intense 2nd half, the final Helix even has the potential to grey some people out.

  • @m.hreels9822
    @m.hreels9822 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Honestly I believe the reason why that first drop on time traveler catches so many people off guard is because people aren’t used to just starting off a coaster plummeting down from the start. It’s a very opposite experience from what people are used to with a roller coaster starting out going up instead of down first
