Right on. Pretty clear the black large slope has been used in quite many sets in the past :) Brickset lists it in 13 different individual sets going back to 2002!
***** And that's what I particularly like in Lego, they never come down to any kind of violence close to real life. Yes, they have those sets like Chima and stuff where there are a lot of weapons but this is something from fantasy world, something one can only see in fictional movies. I think that Lego will stop being Lego once they release the first piece of military weaponry. However, If one wishes making some battle games their can always buy Brickarms sets, there are a lot of guns and vests and helmets, enough to make a global war :)
You might like the 'Small Army' range by Polish company Cobi. Their vehicles and weapons are great only thing is their new style minifigures are very different from Lego ones for legal reasons. South Korean based 'Oxford Toy Company' produces a military range in same scale as Lego with very similar minifigures (at the moment, they may change this to prevent legal battles). Chinese firm 'Sluban' mercilessly clone Oxford military sets. Sluban minifigures used to be similar to Lego however have recently been redesigned. Lots of other plastic construction toy brands do military themes too. Avoid the cheap ones though because their quality is often very low.
I think the "refuelling bit" at 4:40 is actually supposed to represent a night vision camera, which would make sense for a police surveillance helicopter.
To be quite honest, this Barrel Surveillance Set with criminal hideout and truck was probably too high a price point, but I suppose if you consider the free Massive Helicopter that Lego included as an extra, it's probably worth the money.
I love the improvements LEGO does to the newest sets, The nail the styles and other things, They give more attention to Detail, Which allows more fun to play with these types of sets. I like it
The big bulb looking thing at the front actually isnt a fuel boom, its a FLIR (forward looking infrared) camera that is used for looking for heat signatures ie. A person. The other long "antenna" is the fuel boom. Just giving you a heads up on your aircraft stuff. ;)
I've been thinking about buying this set for the helicopter. Great review, helped me to make up my mind and definitely want it now. Thing I notice about the truck is the windscreen piece overhangs the doors on either side for most of their length. Not the best piece of design. But the helicopter looks fantastic.
I am deffinetly going to get this! Thanks so much for your reviews Jang! I show some of them to my mom to convince her that I slash she should get a certain set. You are so helpful! :)
From Evan, age 4: I love your video! The huge helicopter is very good to use except it almost can't hold a vehicle because of the rope. It's good that the ramp can open up because it's more space. It's even funnier that the crooks get a wheelbarrow.
From Evan, age 4: I like that the helicopter can lower a rope, but I don't know how the two hideouts from this set and the police dog can set can connect. I think the crooks truck is cool. I also like the barrel.
I would be better to take off the roof of the cargo section, and maybe add a row of bench seating. It would go a lot better with the quick-rope/rappelling line that they included.
The helicopter looks ultimately great, that's really soething. And I'd only wish if they recoloured these huge side bottom grey chassis parts. They may look better as white and blue with big "police" letterings, may be there is another good variant, but they definitely don't look well as they are, just big and grey and that's it.
i only know of one other set with the large black slope piece, this set would be the lego monster fighters, i think it was called draculas hurse or somethin like that
I got this for my birthday and once I built it it fell of my shelf and broke because my neighbor who was 2 at the time snuck into my LEGO room and tried to grab it.😪😢
Right on. Pretty clear the black large slope has been used in quite many sets in the past :) Brickset lists it in 13 different individual sets going back to 2002!
Aiden Cunningham
JANGBRiCKS YOUR HILARIOUS AHAHHHA. "No longer helicopter serveilence, it's barrel surveilence
JANGBRiCKS the 60013 coast guard helicopter is almost the exact same :O
The coast guard heli is completely differant. The whole front section and back is not the same.
well they look the same to me
I wish Lego would come out with a City series for the Military. Yeah I know it will never happen, but I can dream, can't I?

1Stunna2323 that would be xso cool

I got brickarms swat gear and army gear my lego city has a army base with tanks Hellicopters planes trucks

Andrew Givens this made laugh so hard
I LOLed so hard at the "cop in a barrel" part. I'm really loving that trans-blue dish though.
I love the improvements LEGO does to the newest sets, The nail the styles and other things, They give more attention to Detail, Which allows more fun to play with these types of sets. I like it
I believe that this helicopter is the build of a CH-53 Super Stallion. Great video!
meh, i think it isnt. It has a different shape and other type of cabine :)
True, thanks for correcting me :D
the helicopter is based off of a sea stallion i like the similarities
Cassidy Keen No problem, I was looking to make one pf these, but make it gray and black as if it was a military version.
Trevor Hill blackout in transformers.
Definitely adding this to my 2014 shopping list
@Jang. I really appreciate starting with the set and not the figs. good job!
The big black slope piece was actually available as early as 1996 in set 5571, although you were supposed to put a sticker on it.
The big bulb looking thing at the front actually isnt a fuel boom, its a FLIR (forward looking infrared) camera that is used for looking for heat signatures ie. A person. The other long "antenna" is the fuel boom. Just giving you a heads up on your aircraft stuff. ;)
I love this set! I bought one for my 5 year old for Christmas and I
am now considering buying another set for me to built and display!
I am amazed with quality of these sets.
Maybe I should go back to good ol' system MOCing.
Thank god for this I have been waiting ages for it
let's admit it, a lot of us got pretty excited when we saw a Lego CH-53 ;)
I like that camera!!! I also do like the gold bars and the dollars.
FYI the helicopter type is modeld after the Seahawk that's used for military air transport
the black rod in the front is a wind reader its how you know how fast your going

Thing I notice about the truck is the windscreen piece overhangs the doors on either side for most of their length. Not the best piece of design. But the helicopter looks fantastic.
Imagine if someone bought a a lot of Crook Hideout sets from Lego, and combined them into a giant Criminal Headquarters.
This helicopter looks very much like an mh-53 very cool and I look forward to seeing it on shelves
The CH-53 Super Stallion is sooo cool
I am deffinetly going to get this! Thanks so much for your reviews Jang! I show some of them to my mom to convince her that I slash she should get a certain set. You are so helpful! :)

This is my favorite Leto city police set so far
These CH-53 Super Stallions are cool because they use them in the navy and are heavy duty helicopters!
The best thing ever in this set was that home 🏡 !!!.
From Evan, age 4: I like that the helicopter can lower a rope, but I don't know how the two hideouts from this set and the police dog can set can connect. I think the crooks truck is cool. I also like the barrel.
Barrel surveillance. That's high tech technology!!
LOVE this set
i think that if they made the shack a little bigger then it would be awesome. keep it up jang!
0:36 What a beast!
The huge sliding black piece I've seen in black also in the lego agents swamp attack set mission 2 as the roof of the hide out
Best LEGO city police helicopter
Big black slope piece was also used in the second mission lego agent set
I would be better to take off the roof of the cargo section, and maybe add a row of bench seating. It would go a lot better with the quick-rope/rappelling line that they included.
Really rugged/military looking chopper IMO. Also, it's amazing to see how many comments there are just about that one black slope!
All torsos are new but the robber with the stripes torso has not been used before because the old one has chest hairs
Wow this is an awesome set!
Merry Christmas

When I get that, ill use my 16x16 baseplate to expand the house!
But if I was a seasoned Lego player I would easily upgrade the hideout to make for a better target. All that helicopter for such a small shack!
Another great review jang this set is awesome I'm getting it for my birthday:)
Yeah I believe that roof in black is new I maybe wrong but I really don't remember ever seeing it in black
You can get 3 of those black slopes in on of those Lone Ranger sets
It would be cool if you bought this set and expanded it so it wasn't open in the back, and possibly created an entire building just off this set.
There where several of the black large slopes in the 2008 train station set.
i only know of one other set with the large black slope piece, this set would be the lego monster fighters, i think it was called draculas hurse or somethin like that
One of the best sets for lego cop themed cities.
there's a crime problem in lego city.
its ok because the criminals are dumb so they just get caught easy.
chabby lai yeah but considering that criminals are idiot its not a problem
Don't worry, if someone says "HEY" the police instantly get a GPS to the criminal and they build stuff in 5 seconds
I got the black slope in the original LEGO Batcave set.
just snagged this set on clearance for $50 at Toys R Us .... looking forward to building it
Good luck 👍🏻
Is that an 8x8 plate for the door? I'm sold.
dude, they should SO change the name. Hey guys Jang here with the 2014 set number 60046 this is the barrel surveillance.
I have seen the black slope in some Lone Ranger sets
I'm ordering this set this weekend for my reward for 3 A,s and 2 B,s!
I love it I have the coast guard version of it I do
I saw the black slope piece in a very old lego agents set
This house goes with the 2014 police dog unit.
the big black slope comes from the 2007 train station
This helicopter reminds me of a CH-53 Stallion!!! :D
A very nice review for a very nice set! Nice video! Love the new helicopter, although I'm not sure whether I like the 2013 Heavy Lift Helicopter....
I feel like this is like the SWAT helicopter or for an organization like GIGN
Best. Set. EVAR
The helicopter is inspired by the CH53!
I got this for my birthday and once I built it it fell of my shelf and broke because my neighbor who was 2 at the time snuck into my LEGO room and tried to grab it.😪😢
The overhang parts on the inside I took out on the larger Lego police set helicopter
I got this I used it in a city setting flying above the city hood
if you add the police dog unit set it will look better
This is a nice chopper.
i thought the coast guard helicopter looked like a pave low but this is a pave low
personally i don't like the rotor blade due the wobblyness but the set looks good
I saw a black slope. Piece in the monster fighters here's set
07:46 yeah, I see it on black colour and I have that piece
I saw the black slope in many sets
you should do some more creator sets
Can you put the truck into the back of the helicopter without modification?
The black torso is new, but not exclusive, i think
I would love the copter in non police colors! Pave Low rules!
That slop roof is new
Hey, Jang I think u should get the Helicopter Arrest, so I don't have to watch The Brick Show every time I want to look at it. Plz.
This helicopter is like the ones they use in the military
amigo yo no habló inglés pero en craductor de google lo entiendas donde lo comprasted
The helicopter looks very similar to a Pave Low.
I'm buying this set for my brother for his birthday
I have a 2014 logo police man but i dont have any 2014 sets.
Its good but the helicopter needs more playability by lifting off the top.
It was in some of the agent stuf
I have seen that slope In black it was in a lego agents set it was a swamp raid sort of thing
liam its always lego
yeah I've seen that giant cheese slope in one set before.
Can the hideout in this set connect to the hideout in the police dog unit set?
i like this chanel
I have not seen that black pice before
Whats the set in Lego City with the Helicopter on the truck?
A Lego agents set with the motorcycle and tower
you are awesome at reviews and how did you get a 2014 lego set pretty neat
This set looks awesome.
i agree
Lego4Nick its ok but the haunted house is THE BEST SET EVA!!!!!!
The run down house is probably the most disappointing part f this set because it's so small.
Xlr8rify if they made it bigger it would suit the massive heli
I have it.
