Thanks for this easy to follow approach. I prefer oversized, simple lines that let the yarn be the focus. These designs lend themselves to exactly that.
I make my sweaters on the round. Usually from the neck down. Then, sleeves are started from the arm hole down. I never have to sew anything. Even the granny square sweater can be crochet together as you go. Great video.
Hey Bella, you are adorable. After your tutorial I feel that I can now make myself and family sweaters. Thank you so much. I’m going to try this. I’m from Myrtle Beach SC. I’m also 66 and going to watch all your videos for more inspiration. ❤
I have another sweater type for you, MJ Designs has a sweater that starts at the sleeve and word across, something like your method, leaving an opening for the neck and continue on across to finish at the sleeve. Its fab, Thanks for the ideas.
You’re an absolute legend! Your inspiration is off the charts. Crafting my own crochet gear now, thanks to your brilliant TH-cam vid. Cheers for taking the time to make it!🌟
I caught your cardigan video when it dropped about 6 months ago, so I was excited to see this in my feed. I love your energy and the way you demystify the process. I swear folks make it so much harder than it needs to be. I'm pretty decent at knitting and I love how it looks, but crochet is so much more fun and is always going to be unique because it cannot be replicated by machines. All things that have been crocheted have been made by hands. By hands. No exceptions. By the way--the sweater you're wearing is gorgeous! Great video.
Brilliant video. Your explanation makes it easy to understand and the simplifies on how to make a cardigan without the drama of over thinking. Thank you so much for sharing this information. Stay blessed!..❤❤❤❤
I recommend working in circles because it has even less sewing, so I would start from the neckline then work on body and then add sleeves, or start from the bottom in a circle so I have the back and the front at the same time, but that way the sleeves have stripes in a different way so it kinda looks worse, so I should probably try making sleeves like in this video if I'll be making one from the bottom
Thank you for the different methods! As a suggestion...for ribbing, I like to use FPDC & BPDC stitches - gives a beautiful finish with some stretch. Hope this helps 💕
Thank you for this. I don't block. I am trying to finally make my daughter a capped sleeve cardigan and no pattern so I looked at several but I needed your advice.
You inspired me to design my own cardigan with your first video and I’ve been experimenting with making my own sweaters now too. It is very simple and yet complicated but so satisfying to make something up as you go and have it work out. Do you ever make raglan style sweaters? I like how the body is just one round and then you just crochet on the sleeves. Anywho, thanks for another inspiring post!
Reason why I have made a 2 panel sweater: I used a pattern and thought it looked weird upside-down. So both panels needed to be worked in the same direction.
Hello, love the information video. Love the plants in the background. What are they called? I crochet and I create my own patterns. I know that my question about those amazing plants are off topic, but they provide relaxation when crocheting. Love this video.
I was thinking of trying another method where i do the front and back panels, and then sew them while leaving out the arm wholes, and then crocheting them on in the round because with these methods there's usually a lot of fabric under the armhole. Most sweaters have downturned sleeves to fix that but idk how i'd be able to fix than on a flat panel
Terrific video! Off topic, that plant in the background looks so healthy! I have the same plant but if it gains a leaf,it loses one from the bottom! Do you fertilize it often?
I use 2 panel when the directions of the stitches matters and you want the same direction front and back. Sew the two panels and leave the sleeve opening to fit your arms. You can then do the sleeves as a spiral instead of a panel.
The reason I'm looking for a one panel pattern because I have this ombre yarn that I want to really show up and have the colour change happen on the sleeves at the same time as on the front and back panels... Is that even possible?
❤ hello my name is Pamela McGuire I taught myself to crochet in 2017 when I lost my 21 year old daughter well I kind of got good at it and tried to make a channel and everything but I live on a small income and I can't afford yarn so I had to let everything go I would love to make sweaters that was my favorite thing to make but I just don't have enough yarn so what you do I love
if it’s acrylic it should be fine but I wouldn’t put it in the dryer. I just let my garments air dry because in the past I’ve lost beautiful works of art to the dryer 😢
@@peggys7585 No, blocking will loosen the stitches and make them all uniform. if your project is uneven blocking it will help keep a uniform shape. I put my finished projects in the wash without a problem but putting them in the dryer ruins the project because it will ruin the fiber and stretch it out even more. So afterwards I just lay flat to dry to keep the shape
@@peggys7585 I usually block a project when the shape is uneven or if I want to make something longer or wider. Because when I crochet I usually have a tighter tension, so blocking helps make sure i get the desired shape and length that i want
@@lilyybr-kc5qn I think they're trying to say if they wash their project when they're done, is there any point of blocking bc it will become loose from the wash lol
Set in sleeves requires a 4 panel unfortunately and I love square sleeves so I sew a lot and wish I were not a tall and thick guy 😂 but in the end it is all worth it
The problem in my case is how do I make the stitches look like the one that I found on Pinterest🙁. I don't really know how to make any type of stitches I see!
when i search "how to crochet thing" THIS IS THE TYPE OF VIDEO IM LOOKING FOR!!!! not a step-by-step guide/pattern, but a GENERAL explanation!!!!
This!
“Work smarter not harder” I like that. Thanks for this incredibly inspiring guide
okay, that’s it. you’ve officially convinced me to start blocking. i think the first thing i’ll block is the cardigan i made from your tutorial 😂
Same! I've been resistant to blocking, but I will block the projects I'm working on now.
Thanks for this easy to follow approach. I prefer oversized, simple lines that let the yarn be the focus. These designs lend themselves to exactly that.

dude the “one panel” sweater is so clever ! why didnt i think of that😅❤
You are not a “lazy girl”. You are brilliant and efficient! Love this vid!
Young lady, you read my mind. How to structure a sweater or any top. I love your chat as if you’re talking to a friend. Thank you. ❤
you have the same energy as me towards crocheting and ill owe you forever for this
Love the way your brain works, Girlie… thanks for the inspiration! 🩵🧶🩵
Gonna subscribe for the tutorials but equally for the vibes 😄 I enjoyed the side commentary it kept me engaged (I have ADHD).

Girl I love your VIBE, thank you for the great video.
I love this video so much because I’m an overthinker and it has kept me from trying sweaters. This gave me some inspiration to give it a whirl!
You’re an absolute legend! Your inspiration is off the charts. Crafting my own crochet gear now, thanks to your brilliant TH-cam vid. Cheers for taking the time to make it!🌟
Thank goodness I ran in to your video I hate to attach sleeves that’s why I wouldn’t do any more sweaters your are awesome thax
This is the kind crochet video I was looking for, thank you 😊❤

This body is tea. Thank you for that 😚🩷

TH-cam algorithm for the win, this video just got you a new follower lol.

Do you have a tutorial on the sweater you’re wearing? ❤❤❤
Looks like it's in her video from about a month ago titled "How to crochet a ONE PANEL striped crochet sweater." 😊
I loooove this!!! Can't wait to try it ❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉
love this!

Hi from France! Raglan are easy too ☺️. Have a nice day 😘🌺
thank you!!! 💕❤️

thank you for video but over whelmed by it ❤
One panel all the way!
Hello, love the information video. Love the plants in the background. What are they called? I crochet and I create my own patterns. I know that my question about those amazing plants are off topic, but they provide relaxation when crocheting. Love this video.
Giving us the blueprint. I appreciate you
Thank you!!!!!!!
this is an incredible video. thank you so much!
Love your graphics!!!!
I love this so much! ✨ Innovation ✨
Do you have a method for working in the round? I’m thinking…even less sewing, but also good for gradient yarn.
you have given me ideas!!
Great advice thank you 🧶

Thanks for this! How do you skip those 14 stitches when you reach the shoulder part? I mean how do you make that hole for your head?
Which yarn do you suggest to use? Do you think acrylic yarn will do the job?
I use 2 panel when the directions of the stitches matters and you want the same direction front and back. Sew the two panels and leave the sleeve opening to fit your arms. You can then do the sleeves as a spiral instead of a panel.
love these tips!! also i love your sweater, it looks perfect for fall 🍂
I think you could work the sleeves like this but do it in round so you don’t have to sew them and only have to sew the sweater sides.
Thank you so very much 😊😊😊

merci ^^😍

I’m confused with blocking. What happens when you launder the item for the first time?
if it’s acrylic it should be fine but I wouldn’t put it in the dryer. I just let my garments air dry because in the past I’ve lost beautiful works of art to the dryer 😢
@@lilyybr-kc5qn so then why am I blocking it? Wouldn’t I just undo what I did with blocking the first time I washed it?

Awesome 👍🏾, TGIF 👋🏾 blessings
Hello! TGIF💕❤️
You forgot the Raglan style! It’s worked in one piece with zero sewing!
The problem in my case is how do I make the stitches look like the one that I found on Pinterest🙁. I don't really know how to make any type of stitches I see!
Do you have a raglan style video? No sew on that
Wouldn’t the back stitches be upside down? ie V stitch
