- Sehr vernachlässigtes Gitane Racing Team Rennrad.
Aus Frankreich importiert und mit viel Liebe wieder frisch aufgebaut.
Ausgestattet mit Simplex Komponenten wie fast alle Französischen klassischen Rennräder aus den 80er Jahren.
Das Hübsche Rad war sehr sehr Schmutzig, der meiste Flugrost hat sich dafür leicht entfernen lassen, nur die Pedale haben etwas Zeit gekostet.
Mit dem Ergebnis bin ich zufrieden, die Kette fehlt aber noch im Video, ist aber schon montiert 😀.

Very neglected Gitane Racing Team road bike. Imported from France and freshly reassembled with lots of love. Equipped with Simplex components like all French classic racing bikes from the 80's. The Bike was very very dirty, but most of the rust film was easy to remove, only the pedals took a little time. I'm satisfied with the result, but the chain is still missing in the video, but it's already mounted 😀. Like & Subscribe

That bike is identical to my Interclub model I've had since 1980. Honeycomb dropouts, Maxy cranks,decals etc.
Good man! I’m glad you preserved the paint and decals. I love the drop outs and that’s the first drilled Maxy I’ve seen. I love it!

This looks to be an Interclub or Gran Sport De Luxe, assuming the model names stayed the same after the transition from foil decals to this style decal. I assembled a whole bunch of them back in 1974 when I worked in a shop. About half came through with Simplex derailleurs, the other half came with the vastly superior SunTour derailleurs. The Tour de France model came with Simplex Criterium derailleurs and Stronglight or Sugino cranks as opposed to the Sugino Maxy shown here, which was swaged.

I think...no, I'm actually sure it's a Gitane Tour de l'avenir 1975.
The tour de l'avenir was then built with the same honeycomb dropouts. these were produced by Huret from 1973.
honeycomb because it has a honeycomb-like structure.
In 1972, my ride was a Schwinn varsity. Loved it. Then my buddy got a Gitane Tour de France for Christmas. I totally didn't get it. It looked cheap to me. Plastic shifters and derailleurs. Cable clips instead of braze on open cables. Plastic pie plate. What did I know? I was in 8th grade!! Now, I would love to restore one. I am still a Schwinn fanatic. My rides now are matching sierra brown '71 Super Sport and Sports Tourer. Round Badge or bust!!!
Great video, nice job on the bike. I have a 70's Gitane Racing Team the same as this to restore but in silver. My one has the original tubeless wheels and I was wondering does yours have them too?

a brooks saddle would be nice yes but the current saddle is also beautiful and goes well with the bar tape
