Abaddon CK I feel like games like those just work better in single player. Gwent is amazing in Witcher 3 but the standalone multiplayer version just doesn’t do it for me. Systematically collecting better and better cards by defeating “bosses” like a card rpg is super satisfying and just not possible when it goes multiplayer.
Id like to add that the four campaigns were based on four types of story. SoH, PoS, SoT, and KoC. Being a hero story, romance story, tragedy story, and comedy story respectively.
“Do you remember the war horn?” I mean I laid waste to everything with it, it was one of my go to relics, so yes ant, AND I WILL NOT STAND FOR YOUR SLANDER OF MY PRECIOUS HORN-
What's crazy is you have Shovel Knight and Hollow Knight, and then you have everything else - Mighty No 9, Star Citizen, etc. There's absolutely no in between at all
I’d love for them to expand on both the Spectre Knight skateboarding and Joustus as their own sorta game, maybe not even being the same characters, but some new one who does both of the parts
I hated it. It worked with SOT because it wasn’t obvious and actually changes the player’s perspective of Specter knight. The KOC ending has no redeeming qualities. The sad part is that an empty and depressing ending would’ve fit way better in SOT. It just felt wrong for the most cheery campaign.
Let not forget they also supported 3D on the 3DS for every game they got onto that thing and MAN does that 3D look good! There was one level towards the end of Shovel of Hope that had rain effects and the way it looked in 3D was just stunning to me.
@@jamjars1971 Yeah I liked it too, I like Spector of Torment and King of Cards more, but it's still a lot of fun and I like it way more than Shovel of Hope.
The story may be light in KoC, but that ending... That thing hits you out of nowhere and it hurts. It's like you know it had to happen, but it still doesn't fail to leave you feeling depressed
eh, it's only 20 hours for normal playthroughs. Completion can't be that hard. He completed Hyrule Warriors. A game Nintendo made, in part, to break him. This'll be easy for Jirard.
The actual story of KoC is actually much different than just he says he’s good at cards. What’s happening is that he’s competing for a special crown, which makes him a king. He wants to rule everything, sort of like a child who wants to be the president.
My main issue with King of Cards was I wished the twirl mechanic wasn't tied directly to the dash attack and I could trigger it on my own. It felt so awkward to control compared to the other three campaigns.
Great vid! Keep up the great work! I recently played Shovel Knight for the first time and have loved playing through all the campaigns! One of the top games of the decade for sure!

The PS4 Light bar was used pretty well in Tearaway Unfolded. There’s a part where you go through a cave and you use the controller as a flashlight
"WaIt, So ThAt AsSiSt TrOpHy HaS iT's OwN gAmE?!?"
......what?
@@diannejohn5346 context: Smash Bros fans are super annoying. I know cause I'm one of them.
A -sightly more- sane one, i must stress
Id like to add that the four campaigns were based on four types of story. SoH, PoS, SoT, and KoC. Being a hero story, romance story, tragedy story, and comedy story respectively.
Waiting for king of cards was like a really long magic trick
While I love the gameplay, I did not like the story or joustus of King of Cards. Spectre of Torment is by far my favourite
“Do you remember the war horn?”
I mean I laid waste to everything with it, it was one of my go to relics, so yes ant, AND I WILL NOT STAND FOR YOUR SLANDER OF MY PRECIOUS HORN-
Honestly, the only reason I still charge my WiiU Pad is to play Shovel Knight
What's crazy is you have Shovel Knight and Hollow Knight, and then you have everything else - Mighty No 9, Star Citizen, etc. There's absolutely no in between at all
7:48
"And his partner dead"
I’d love for them to expand on both the Spectre Knight skateboarding and Joustus as their own sorta game, maybe not even being the same characters, but some new one who does both of the parts
2:30 Wait so you're saying that my 3DS version of Shovel Knight will become the Treasure Trove version even though it's on a dead console?
Yep.
Yeah, even the Wii U, Vita's and PS3 versions
Link in a boss fight for the Nintendo versions would have been awesome
Even though I saw it coming a mile away king of cards ending still depressed me
It's a bit anticlimactic for the last campaign, but I really liked it. It's empty, and it totally fits.
I hated it. It worked with SOT because it wasn’t obvious and actually changes the player’s perspective of Specter knight. The KOC ending has no redeeming qualities. The sad part is that an empty and depressing ending would’ve fit way better in SOT. It just felt wrong for the most cheery campaign.
The Battle Toads boss fight is also in the PC version, just FYI.
King of cards is good. It’s really good. Also how the heck did you get that sweet looking golden hud?
Jordan Ranney buy it from Mr Hat
kingvideogames wait mr hat sells you stuff in king of cards? TIME TO GO ON A HAT HUNT!
Let not forget they also supported 3D on the 3DS for every game they got onto that thing and MAN does that 3D look good! There was one level towards the end of Shovel of Hope that had rain effects and the way it looked in 3D was just stunning to me.
AntDude: I'm not a fan of the relic system
Danny Sexbang: *hold my INFIIIINIDAGER* !!!
I like how you uploaded this a little before I finished King Knight's story. Thus finishing all 4 stories.... What great timing. =V
I mean, i love plague of shadows, but that’s just me
Same, I was surprised to see that disliking it wasn't an uncommon opinion.
It was the first campaign I replayed and I really had no issues with it.
Oh, Jirard is gonna go nuts trying to re-complete Shovel Knight...
Looking forward to that episode now that the entire game is out.
eh, it's only 20 hours for normal playthroughs. Completion can't be that hard. He completed Hyrule Warriors. A game Nintendo made, in part, to break him. This'll be easy for Jirard.
@@tomhill3248 You need to do every campaing deathless
@@lordpetroollo6979 OH...
The actual story of KoC is actually much different than just he says he’s good at cards. What’s happening is that he’s competing for a special crown, which makes him a king. He wants to rule everything, sort of like a child who wants to be the president.
4:15 ‘Nuff said. 😆
BTW, have you done Celeste yet? I started playing it. And... boy howdy.
Celeste best indie of 2019 easily
@@foxycrystal8961 but the graffics are bad
Edit:BTW I'm joking
6:56 talks about ProtoMan in MegaMan 9 shows footage of ProtoMan in MegaMan 10
Lol
Has he reviewed hollow knight yet or did I miss it, I'd really like to see his opinion on that game
My main issue with King of Cards was I wished the twirl mechanic wasn't tied directly to the dash attack and I could trigger it on my own. It felt so awkward to control compared to the other three campaigns.
16:05 but…but UNDERTALE?
"Ducktales-styled pogo jump"
*Zelda II: The Adventure of Link would like to know your location*
I mean it’s kind of a mash up of both games mechanics
If only shovel knight was a character in smash *sniff* but hes an assist trophy-
Also yeah I know assist trophy is good but still-
I thought before release that some assist trophies would be playable using single joy con in a seperate mode
So wah, shovel, virtua, crystal, and a few others would be playable
0:24 OOOH THAT STILL HURTS
Plague of Shadows was the least interesting for Anthony, huh? I guess you could say it *_plagued_* what was otherwise a completely perfect game.
Why have I seen three of your comments starting with a sentence followed by , huh?
Great vid! Keep up the great work! I recently played Shovel Knight for the first time and have loved playing through all the campaigns! One of the top games of the decade for sure!
My fave indie game.
Also, I'm early
Also also I love plague of shadows fight me
Ahh shovel knight. My favourite game of all time. It was the first game I bought on steam, and it holds an incredibly special place in my heart... I love it so much
Nobody literally nobody ever:
Me:
Shovel Knight was in brawlhalla
i remember playing shovel knights and plague knights campaigns. then i just stopped playing the game but to see that they put more stuff in and are continuing to do so makes the game even better
I love the fact that you get to keep all the sub weapons whenever you find one unlike in Castlevania where you can carry a thousand weapons but only one sub weapon what the hell Alucard You have to be kidding me.
