This is honestly one of the best precision basses I’ve ever owned, for any bass player that has back issues or doesn’t like too heavy this bass is perfect. Sits in the mix just right!
I got that series too but the PJ one which is still designated as Precision Bass on the headstock. Mine is made is USA. Very pleased with it after three years. My "main axe."
I just received my player series P-Bass today, and saw your video. I love what you had to say, and wish that mine had arrived as ready to go as yours did. it was wildly out of tune, with a mild bow in the neck. Thank you again for your review, I just subscribed.
Great. Love the energy and appreciate you mentioning the weight. I'm getting older and many of the basses I love are just too heavy to hang on my shoulder at this point. Two thumbs up!
Nice review and demo. I looked at a few of these at two local stores several weeks back and thought the quality was very high. I think you're right about them being one of the best bass deals out there. Don't tell Fender, they'll raise the price.
love it when you present new basses to your viewers! I have an eye on the player series p-bass. but to be honest: some days ago I saw the review of your blue stinnett p-bass and I immediately fell in love with that tone :)
Well no wonder you should fall in love with that Blue Stinnett Custiom P. It is a top class instrument. I will be doing more reviews as part of my new affiliate program.
If you do choose to purchase a "Player Series P Bass." please us the"purchase button" above that is part of my affiliate program. Thanks. :) . ... and when you want a SCB just let me know. ;)
I have an elite jazz and picked up the P player and you know the Elite is tighter on the hardware end but it doesn't sound 1500 dollars better. This is a great bass honestly.
I think with prices of the American line going to cross 2k on upper models that there is more and more development going into MIM fenders. But truly in the last 2 decades the MIM line has been very playable. I have the players Jazz Bass and it is in my stage gear. Most of my American stuff stays at home.
I BOUGHT THE SAME PLAYER JAZZ BASS. IVE HAD MY EYE ON THE STAGE GREEN MODEL, I BOUGHT ONE ALSO ON LINE. ITS BETTER THAN I EVER DREAMED IT WOULD BE. YOUR VIDEO MADE ME MAKE UP MY MIND TO BUY IT. YES THE SOUND OF THIS BASS IF WONDERFUL. I HAVE A LITTLE FRET OVER HANG BUT FENDER SAD THEY WOULD FOOT THE BILL TO HAVE THEM FILED DOWN A LITTLE. NO BIG DEAL. I LOVE THIS BASS AND WOULD RECCOMEND IT TO ANYONE.
I went to my local guitar store to put my hands on these Player basses. I am a small woman so I was pleasantly surprised by how light and manageable they were. I had never played a fender ( I know I know) so wasn't sure that I would be comfortable with a P neck. I found it very workable... yes a tad wider and flatter than the jazz but still playable even with my small hands. IT wasn't "fat and chunky" like P basses are often described. I went back and forth between their white P bass and a blue J bass (VERY pretty with the maple fingerboard) and decided the J neck was immediately comfortable and kinda addictive! I really didn't want to put that one down. My only issue with the P bass at this point is: buttercream or sage... I'll probably end up getting one of each. Although an alternative is fender's deluxe active P bass; it has a jazz neck with PJ config and active/passive electronics. So hard to decide.
Great bass! Im convinced more than ever to get one after watching your videos....Used to have an American standard P, and going back to the P after playing several prestige basses. Love your attitude too!
Thats great. Thanks for watching. I will be putting up links tomorrow for an "affiliate" program where you can push the button here and I get some credit.
Looks and sounds great... I would love to buy a Pbass but I am discouraged by my previous experience with a 50's classic. It had a horrible dead spot and the neck at the first frets was too chunky for me. How is the neck of the Player series P?
GREAT review, just ordered one same color. I set it up after it arrived and have been playing it for a week. I like it far more than the American P's. Reminds me of an early cbs P but a better neck.
Hey man, wonderful review and a true gentleman. I want to purchase the player series for myself to add to my collection and I also seen that you dropped the E string down to D so where I'm getting at is I play in a professional cover band and our music is very diverse where I would have to drop tune my E string to D and sometimes C#. Are the existing truss rods that come with the Player series strong enough to handle these drops?
Stock pickups sound great! Are there any worries about the controls or anything? I'm probably going to get one of these beauties real soon and just want to make sure its as good as it looks. Thanks!
I have a 69 Fender Precision w/Jazz Neck at the time custom color, Ocean Turquoise, block inlay on rosewood neck/bought at the music store I worked for in 1969. 2024 and Fender Custom Shop says "Sorry we won't touch it because you don't have a receipt"; although I do have owners manual with name of "E Paxton", only Custom Shop in Colorado is HB Woodsong, Boulder. I thought Fender had control of their channel. I believe HB Woodsong is telling Fender that no receipt, no work. Moving away from Fender. If they would do this to a Senior, think what they'll do to you. Buyer Beware. I will post this on other sites selling Fender.
Happiest bass player on earth!
All bass players are happy. It's just nobody notices us but the drummer.
I love your lessons & reviews. Your passion for bass is infectious.
Thank you for such nice compliments Andy T

You are welcome.
I bought a player series P-bass in sunburst and pau ferro after watching this video. Wonderful feel and sound :)
What's your opinion on the Pau Ferro fretboard?
@@oza8578 A bit too light colored for me but after a few coats of fretboard oil and playing, it will get darker. It is very nice to play on as well.
@@ejmusicofficial planning to get the SB color as well and thinking to do the same but do you have good brand of oil in mind? thanks!
That thing sounds perfect. Great finish too
Joy of bass in person.
You make me want to buy this bass... In fact, I just did.. My first bass! Can't wait for it to arrive. Cheers!

Hi
Thanks for the review. You seem to play lots of fender guitars. Any reasons for this. Was thinking of getting this guitar.
Thanks again,
