    Beautiful! I wish I would have learned fishtails like this!! I had a teacher that called them "Idiot Twirls"...not because they are so easy to learn, but when they suddenly "click in" and work for you...you feel like such an IDIOT!! Forty years later, I am still learning new ways to teach young folks! Thank you so much.

    Wow, thats a super interesting method of teaching fishtails. Ive found it really helps a lot to tell people to focus on the upswing. Its the advice i gave my friend which helped fishtailing click for them with less than an hour of practice. But that kind of feedback of where it clicks for someone can be priceless for teaching purposes.

    I'm a juggler contact/non contact I've been learning these so I can incorporate them into a devil stick routine it took me about 40 min to pick this technique up I had a rough version at 20 minutes but got it smooth around 40.

    Only bc I had a hard coach and we had to learn our routines really fast this video made me mad cause of how slow it is but now I look at it a couple years later and this is pretty nice

      @@delainad i learned these in the sixties or early seventies. twirling was popular then and i watched other people do it, figuring it out for myself. this is one roll, after all these years, i am still proficient at. keep at it. it will come.

    Does your baton have to be taped, or can you just use a plain baton?

    • @catiedonalds8290
      @catiedonalds8290 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      politepancake you can use plain but if you would like to tape it you can use dollar store decor tape electrical tape or tennis racket tape a plain baton tends to be slippery and its harder

      Catie Donalds Thanks love! ;)

    • @sandyyy2
      @sandyyy2 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      politepancake it would be easier to grip if u had tape on it so I suggest tape but u can use plain old washy tape and it will increase the grip so in my option I think u should have tape but if u don’t use tape it will be a little slippery because the place that u hold is metal so it’s slippery and if u sweat when u get nervous or just have sweaty palms I hope that this helped😁😁

      You can. Fishtails are very frustrating for some people to learn. Try every day. Set a timer for 2 minutes and try for 2 minutes straight. Then rest your arm. Do something else, then set the timer again. It will arrive eventually.
