We should use this M3 as a tow car instead!! Love your work especially for engaging with the audience and chronologically going through the process of saving abandoned forgotten machines
I did the same steps but added the borla mid pipe to get rid of that last bit of rasp. Didn't have to touch the headers or cats. Loved mine and it was quiet enough to run Laguna Seca (notorious sound limited track).
You should also get another mid-pipe and cut out the resonator and weld it next to the other one. Really helps with the droning and rasp having two resonators
My brother and I have been following both the 350Z and M3 builds from the start and absolutely love what y'all are doing. What really caught our attention though is the fact that you two own the same cars we own in the same colors, albeit slightly differently configured since my 350Z is an HR variant and his M is a coupe but still, theyre too close for us not to follow your builds. So happy to see the M car being complete, now just post up some exhaust vids so my brother can make his mind up on which route to go on his haha.
I am a nissan guy.... and I think I like this build better than the 350z!! Sounds good and looks baller as heck with the seat and the interior. Nice work guys!!!!
Any chance you guys can to a breakdown on total build cost? Even if it’s MSRP on sponsored parts that may not have been a cost incurred on you guys? I think it would be cool to know. I’m guessing 12K total
12k for a drift-ready street M3 is pretty good. A standard M3 in good condition is 10k or something and you'd still need to modify it to make it track ready.
Noticed your rear view mirror has a glass plate over it, I'm guessing the auto-dimming liquid within the mirror is leaking. Radar-Mirror is going to be your best bet for replacing that. You should definitely get it resolved otherwise the liquid will leak over your dashboard/seats and stain them. radar-mirror.com/Mirror_Repair.html
I feel like all Canadian men should be handed a set of bolt extractors at birth. You guys really need to invest in a set of bolt extractors and fear rust no more
Giving me motivation to get my e36 back together! Does the clutch delay delete change where the pedal bites? Been thinking of removing mine, but I’ve also seen a “neutered” valve you can replace it with, but that might be $50 wasted if it feels fine without it.
It doesn’t change where it bites, but increases the feel of the bite. The CDV's job is to lessen the impact of quick clutchdrops and gearchanges to the transmission at the costs of clutchfeel and wear. It’s easy to reverse if you don’t like it, but most do.
Can we get a proper exhaust video? I have an E46 M3 (in the same color, too!), and I've been trying for years to find the "right" exhaust setup (I've tried Status Gruppe, different restonators, even sunk so far as to try an eBay exhaust to see how it'd sound) and absolutely nothing sounded good to me on this car. Would love to hear your setup in high quality!

Hey guys loving the channel and the content, I just want to touch on what your drift pro mate has been suggesting to you and add my 2 cents as a casual drifter in Oz and Japan as frankly i feel his suggestions are about 50% correct. Without going on a giant rant just please for the love of god read this www.superstreetonline.com/how-to/chassis-suspension/modp-1201-basic-drift-chassis-setup/ these guys are fantastic and their suggestions have been tried and tested many times by me and others in many countries for many years. Now that you have done that take your drift expert and put him in the bin of "no you don't need lock mods to drift you fucking idiot stop pretending to help when you are making it worse". Then get some actual cones setup on your skid pad (ideally wet) and work on the basics of drifting, donuts in both directions focusing on being as close to the cone as possible with minimal power output, figure 8s in both directions. From there goto an actual drift day with actual drift people and go through process of learning how to drift, ChrisFix on youtube hit the nail on the head for this and I know there is some really good learn to drift stuff in Canada. You have a great channel with some seriously good content that is so varied and in depth, I just would hate for you guys to try to learn to drift but get totally steered in the wrong direction and in doing so misinforming a bunch of people as I know you have the best intentions. (Also sorry for saying I won't go on a giant rant but preceding to go on a giant rant, kinda passionate about drifting and I just hate fuckheads who spout bullshit)

Honestly such an underrated channel!
The rebuild for sure cost double what the car was worth. . But it is beautiful.

Popular mod (I just did it) is to stick in an ar25 in the section 1. One pipe already has it so just put one in the other side. Lots of rasp gone!
You should also get another mid-pipe and cut out the resonator and weld it next to the other one. Really helps with the droning and rasp having two resonators
Good job! The rack has a centre mark too.
I really enjoyed this M3 resto series. That trick with the exhaust hangers will get used on my m3, no more low hanger muf!
But wait for it to set before you put a load on it...

-Sounds Real Good-
The rasp is caused by the section 2 pipes after the headers. Add another resonator or get an aftermarket section 2 to remedy the noise
On rusty bolts you have on the exhaust hangers, you can brush on 50/50 ATF and acetone mix and leave it for a day and then have a go at them
I've never had much luck with that over pb but I've heard a lot of guys swear by it
