This is 2D animation, which has basically no limits in comparison to 3D. While the actual skins themselves have to adhere to the hit boxes and proportions of the game.
If Cass says "See you Space cowboy" for his high noon it would be peak.

Man one thing overwatch really knows it's way around is getting the fans hyped through animations, whether it's 2D OR 3D. The animations they produce are always a hit and make me wanna play the game more.

This is why we’re never ashamed to be cowboy bebop fans. My god this is so good. I especially love the fact that this isn’t ripping off the original CB opening frame for frame, instead it adds its own visual, overwatch flare (unlike a certain live action adaptation). I’ve never played overwatch but this almost makes me want to
They also added some things from the action you do in the games and phrases that are said during games. This is the perfect way to tribute a golden show like CB after understanding it's true nature and mood. That's what they didn't understand with the (money-making) live action
No matter what people say, Overwatch is still an amazing game.

Not only is this the first official animated Bebop material since 2001, this crossover has such attention to detail. Spike's hat is from Cowboy Andy. Andy plops it on his head and he wears it for a grand total of like 10 seconds. I'm so excited to see all of this in game.

i'm more impressed than i thought i'd be. Cass' gun is styled after Spike's ship, whereas Bob is styled after Faye's, which is more detail than I coulda hoped for. even Ein got a skin! Hammond and Ein do have pretty similar origins... I think they'd get along well.

Not sure why you stopped but for me it was 100% the players. I don't care about skin prices, nobody is forcing you to pay anything. It's just the toxic text chat in rank. It always causes players to start fighting in the chat which means they are not playing or it cause someone to flat out start throwing. 99% the players that start this mess by calling teammates out are hardstuck, dont bring the rest of us down too!! Doom could have had something more to his, but Saitama is a pretty simple design himself, so they were working with what they had lolll. Also the designs shown in this trailer I assume are what the skin will be directly based off. So, I think they will turn out well. :)

based on this I was expecting to buy the whole bundle... the cassidy skin in game is just nothing like this trailer. unfortunate execution of what looked like it could be great (and I really think could be if they bothered sticking to this design for the skin/in-game model)

Sorry but no. Some of the scenes comeout pretty goofy and doesn’t have the rough graphic style the og had, check the op final scene with this one and you’ll see what I’m talking about, the profile of the characters and stuff

Not only is this the first official animated Bebop material since 2001, this crossover has such attention to detail. Spike's hat is from Cowboy Andy. Andy plops it on his head and he wears it for a grand total of like 10 seconds. I'm so excited to see all of this in game.
Righttt, I just watched that episode. But for some reason didn’t catch that. Their attention to detail is amazing. :0 His gun being his space craft is so clever too.
I genuinely cannot tell if this is 2D or 3D animated. The overwatch cinematics never cease to amaze me.
Who said it was the Overwatch team that did the animation? Could of been the original animators. Unless it’s credited somewhere
It's 2D mainly and I think they mixed in 3D some parts like the revolver reload.

The hard surface objects seems to be 3D while the characters are 2D.

Agreed. I have never played Overwatch so I am not 100% familiar with the game characters, but I know Cowboy Bebop and its opening sequence and this was so good it made me tear up. I'll add a few 1000 views to the video's total. 🙂
