- After losing to Fulham, Liverpool had to wait a fortnight to continue their hunt for the league title, hosting Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield.
Bill Nicholson's Spurs had won the double five years prior, but by 1966 all except one of that side were gone. Tottenham came to Liverpool looking just to defend against the Reds, but that was easier said than done against a team looking set to become champions for the second time under Bill Shankly.

6:37 That was something I also noticed about Greavsie. I saw a video of him coaching kids once where he even said to one: “You don’t have to kill it son. Just pass it into the net,” As a Liverpool fan I had those words ringing in my head one particular game when Origi was clean through and blasted against the cross bar. Jim was a deep thinker (and unfortunately a deep drinker).
The League trophy Ron Yeats and the players had doing a lap of honour wasn't actually real. It was created by a family who lived near the ground. The original wasn't available so had to make do with this.
Great watch. Excellent as always.
That is some claim from Shanks. Better than the Busby Babes? Better then the double winning Spurs side of 1961? I'm not saying the Liverpool team of the 1965/66 season wasn't, just that it is some claim.
