Something helpful occured to me when Dan talked about setting your boundaries & rules ahead of time: After you've decided on your boundaries, it prepares you in more than one way; when it happens, when a boundary has been crossed - in that instant when you recognize it and are getting ready to respond, looking at it as a rule you're following and how you're going to respond kind of replaces what emotions it might've caused. You're getting a jump-start on using your logical brain, by thinking about what you've prepared, vs reacting with your amigdala.

Proper, assertive, loving communication is a MUST for the workplace. Without it, the entire workplace is negatively affected. One person can either contribute to a hostile workplace by saying nothing or using the wrong tactics, OR, one person can set a good example for everyone.
It's not just to serve yourself or the other person, it serves everyone, the entire workplace.

Thank you for clarifying that calling someone a liar is name-calling. I put it in the category of rude / bad manners / coarse upbringing, but hadn’t thought of it as name-calling.
In 1998ish I became interested in metaphysical healing topics and being in tune with energy. So that has been part of my life over the years - not a mission or career - but present. You might benefit from plugging into healing energy. You are already in a healing profession.
When I hear your voice I feel there is an angry edge that needs an infinite hug from the universe/eternities of love.
You have it together in the mental logical realm.
Allowing healing energy to flow into you may or may not turn you officially into “woo-woo.” 😍😍😍

@@TheWizardOfWords Mate you are good value. Here in Australia, most people don't talk as fast as you.
But when I'm teaching I do it too, it's because I love it, I'm excited, and what to get the message out.
Please don't take my words as constructive criticism, video formats have to be fun.
But I have a question if you don't mind.
In my subject field, I seem to have information output that's above most people's input level, and for some reason, I don't get that they aren't keeping up. I do the repeat reexplain loop and still the same problem. Dan any tips, please

Thank you Dan! I find a subtle-yet-devastating statement to highly judgmental family members/relatives/people who criticise lifestyle choices is:
    *”At least I’VE lived”* 🙃

Do you have an app that would allow to practice sentences based on case scenarios whilst on the go? Pretty much like an app to learn a language? Great videos btw!

I usually think it's me with a problem with communication. My instincts are always right. Someone who points in your face when they talk is rare but an example. I'd love to learn not to take things personally that's my next god given lesson. If someone is rude, i say" that's the first time and the last time" period

Very true, people will try to help you if you in need, or try to make you miserable if you don't need it, which is never.

You are helping to change my life. Do you feel the same way if the person is your sister? My sister said she feels like she has to walk on eggshells around me because I have so many "rules" and then if she breaks a rule we gotta have a talk about it. She says I need to just understand that siblings say things to one another and I just need to get over it.

Cynthia, it's possible you have too many rules; I don't know what those would be. But I do know that siblings should NOT be saying cruel or thoughtless things to one another and then expecting the recipient of those words (or actions) should just "get over it." No way. Why should we be less kind to family than we would be to colleagues or friends?
