While CiT is budget based company, some cases are really nice. Personally, I spent a bit more £ for slightly better DeepCool. Also i5 8500 would be massively better with HT. Probably that's why Ryzen 2600 is so great option, instead of 8500 or even Ryzen 7 1700, which costs £40 or less. And 1050Ti seems to be holding fairly good enough, for an age. Great video!

Great build, but if I want a PC for casual gaming (targeting casual games and e-sport titles with 60 FPS at least), I'd rather go with the Ryzen 5 5600G. Better processor and despite the graphics might not be as powerful as 1050 Ti, there will be room for better graphic cards in the future
I love this little rig, well thought for its purpose. I thought you'd go the GTX1650 route but the 1050Ti is more than adequate for this intended use. If the need comes up, it should take a 9700/9900 CPU with no problems and a beefier GPU too.
I built a very similar setup for my daughter to play minecraft and roblox. Works great and was under $200! i5 8400, 16gb ddr4, rx580 8gb, 1080p great work as always

This build is the true essence of pc gaming...especially for a beginner. Sometimes us in the "PC Master Race" get carried away in the pursuit of maximum performance and lose our way
That is genuinely my HTPC lol. Except the mobo is mATX because of the form factor desirable for HTPC (put mine in Jonsbo v4s case). Other than that it has exactly the same parts (built mine 3 years ago). And it runs like a dream for some couch games. Just built my 7year old niece a PC of her own (well we'll build it together but I gathered and tested the parts, then took it apart) and it is based on i5 7500T (I kinda wanted a low power device for her and miniITX form factor and H110 is the cheapest miniITX Mobo you can find, also wanted to give purpose to my Fractal Design Core 500 case that has been in storage for like 3 years since i replaced my homelab with a proper server) and a 1660 Super. Wild that you can build a very capable PC now for less than $300 that takes less than 200W from the wall under full load. Am eying up a 6600XT as an upgrade for the GPU now. Shame nVidia abandoned compact cards and despite 1660 Super being good, I kinda want something bit more up to date in the system.
300 is still too high, tbh. Just because things are less expensive, does not mean they're cheap or as cheap as they used to be at one time. I refuse to let up on companies who charge way more than they should, just because it's less than when they were milking us dry.
@@anomonyous I bought all parts second hand apart from RAM and SSD which are dirt cheap now, and a PSU because I do not want to deal with one without warranty given the use case. And idk man, paying a $120 for GPU, $20 for MoBo, $15-25 for case (cheapest core 500 I found), $50 for 500W PSU, $20 for RAM, $25 for SSD and $40 for a CPU and ending up with a very capable system is absolutely great in my books, as someone who has been building computers from second hand parts for 25 years. IDK, used to build pretty bad systems for twice as much 5 years back. Used to be a $800 (adjusted to inflation) for ok machine 20 years back... so having decent machine for under $300 is great to me. My first PC that I got was a office Pentium 2 back in late 90s (what got me to building because that thing was attrocious for games) and that one was $400 adjusted to inflation. And could barely run anything but DOS games. So giving my niece a computer that costs 3/4 of what my first did and her being able to keep up with "the cool kids" that play all of them minecrafts? Yeah, that's great in my books.
For the requirements, I'd most likely have gone for a office PC with 3rd/4th gen i5 or i7 and put a 1050Ti or similar in there, but since it's for a family member it might make sense to keep upgradability in mind.
Bought one of those Hellcracks cases directly through their own website yesterday, very positive experience for the money - Tracking number sent to me within 10 minutes of ordering, delivered next day by FedEx free of charge, for a £29.99 case...3 pre-installed RGB fans, Fractal Torrent style front. Filter isn't the best, but for £29.99 it's a decent little case for a budget build. Had an email from them saying 25% off my next order if I specify my order acknowledgement number for the 1st order when I re-order. That would bring the price of this case down to £22.50 each, and there's no limit on how much you can order with the discount....
M.2 SSDs were such a gamechanger for me. I always hated how much space HDDs took and how we needed to install SSDs in case brackets so they fit in 3.5 slots. SATA and power cables clogging the PC were another big headache. I actually removed all SATA SSDs from my PC at this point and only fill the M.2 Slots. Since Multi GPUs are dead, PCIe lane limitations arent an issue either anymore.

First time hearing that. Maybe your case lacks the proper airflow? SSDs rarely overheat, especially if they have good airflow and\or cooling on top of them, like some kind of aluminium piece. Oh, nvm. It's cacheless ssd, those are trash, and worse than HDDs. Idk why companies keep releasing them.

Great build tbh, solid gaming pc that probably for bigger game titles will be sufficient in the future. 16gb ddr4,cpu and gpu should last a solid amount of time. And for lower end titles it will be still overkill but its great to have this kind of PC. The only thing that infuriates me is my PC is gonna be outdated in a couple of years, but in 1 year I'll turn 18 and get a job ASAP so I can finally ditch my old PC. Btw I can't find a job in my country because the age that is required for working is 18.
4:02 is that the evga Q1 600w by any chance? If so then that psu has a reputation of exploding and I wouldn't advise using it in any pc. In fact, I had the 500W version and it exploded even with just an fx 8350 and a gtx 1050ti so I'd really recommend staying clear from it
First off, just wanna say I’m a long time fan and I wish there were more channels like yours or icebergtech out there. Second, why did you opt for an 8th gen cpu and motherboard over a cheap 12th gen system? I’m not saying they aren’t fit for gaming and i have no idea how much those lga 1151 CPUs and motherboards go for, but you don’t really have a great upgrade path since the only decent upgrade would be the 9900 since most 8th and 9th gen CPUs apart from the 8700 and 9900 lack hyper threading. At least with a cheap h610 and 12100 they’d be able to go up to something like a 13400 and have less vulnerabilities.

I recently also built a budget pc, but i choose i3 gen 10 instead of i5 gen 8 since it has better gaming performance, and if i want to upgrade the i5 gen 10 is quite solid
Not bad if you ask me, though to be honest this system (in its current configuration) doesn't actually need a Z370 board - a lower end board would probably be OK. Having said that, the potential is there for GPU and CPU upgrades later on down the line. I don't really like that case because it has minimal front airflow and a lack of optical drive bay. I've recently changed from a case with no airflow, to a case with much better airflow (and DVD drive support!) and the temperatures dropped by about 20'C. Also, I would absolutely NOT recommend 8GB RAM on a budget, due to the amount that Windows and other programs use, I would say 16GB on a budget, 32GB for normal use, and 64GB+ if you need lots of RAM, like myself!
yeah, 8GB is legit dead besides bare office use. 16GB is starting to really become dead as well as DDR4 continues to drop slowly, making 32GB more viable. as for the case, large temperature effects do have a lot of concern. Went from an old discontinued Deepcool case to an older Air 540 and dropped 10°C in ambient case temps, and about 40°C on the GPU (which is a 6700XT). the difference a solid vs mesh front panel can make! granted this is all while doing VR, but older, less efficient GPUs can also benefit similarly, even more so if there's a fan blowing in-line.
Funnily enough, windows can work at 4gb ram or lower, even with web browsing and office. SSD is the must have. Gaming does work aswell. I dont recommend modified, only official ones.
Honestly, instead of a 1050TI, for this build I'd pick an rx 580, it's way more powerful at the same price used. My friend bought an RX 580 8gb for just 30 damn euros, and it was well worth it as an upgrade over a 950. It just makes sense to get the best value out of the budget you have for casual gaming. Still, I consider your build to be amazing and i commend you for doing a video like this for people with a lower budget.

Maybe to save even more cost, an older i7-3770 or i7-4770 can be considered (but no weaker than that). That's what great about used PC components, plenty of viable options... as long as you ignore 90% of 2023 games.
I even ignore 90% of 2023 games in rtx 3070 i9 12900 rig...
Love these kinds of builds, makes me want to replay company of heroes, Rome total war and anno 2070, all of which should run lovely on that pc
This beautifully illustrates the diminishing returns of higher priced components in PC building.
Man I love this channel so much. It's a haven for older and low budget PC hardware.
Oh man I will love to build a PC with similar specs for my nephew, someday I will do it for the sake of seeing him happy playing Minecraft. Love this channel!
I love your videos man. They have a 2017 feeling to them maybe its the editing it doesnt feel like other youtubers it feels like a video made in the early days of youtube. It makes me feel calm and your voice is soothing and not just that you do hardware tests I actually wanna see. I dont care ahout the latest and greatest gpus because ill never buy them you make reviews for stuff most people buy I also love when you test games on older hardware it's incredible how these old components still hold up especially the 10 series gpus like the 1080. Thank you! ❤
That is a very good idea leaving the cables loose, easy access and no fidgeting looking for snips
Low cost build on other channels are 800$+
Yeah I hate how most channels classify $600, $700, or even $800 as low cost. Nah "low cost" builds are anywhere between $100 and $500, depending on what your goals are, lol.
That's not a bad budget set-up to be honest, and so long as the new owner is happy with it then that's great.
The whole case design looks inspired by the original Xbox. I love it.
The bright green setting gave me Xbox vibes and I love that
Ah finally. A slow and nice explanation video for building a good pc without any over exaggerated graphics and crazy prizes.
Like breathing in fresh air :D
Holy Lens Flare, Batman :) honestly, I consider that a perk for the machine.
Great little build for a starter pc for sure with headroom for upgrades if ever wanted 👌🏻
You've earned a subscriber. Thanks for watching over low to mid teir gamers and not the main stream high ones in this video
Great video!
if you build on the regular I was surprised by a company called ionz (bought the black aether ) just put my 9900k / 3080 combo in one for £60 it's a lotta case Cit are a bit too cheap for all but the most budget of builds I normally grab cases from MSI sub 100 but didn't want rgb for my own build
honestly the gpu should be the first thing to be replaced, a 1050 ti is easily beaten by a 1650 (or if ur lucky 1660 in the used market) which can be easily obtained for a similar price used, looking at the statistics in the video the cpu at most maxes out at 60-70% while the gpu is stuck at 98% constantly, at
dude if i received this pc as a kid i would be amazed, what budget hardware can do these days is incredible!
I love budget builds! There's a certain charm and modesty to them.
That 6 core i5 8500 is still a beast for most things. Using an 8400 myself for HD video capture w/o any additional graphics card daily.
I bet person this PC was for is still happy with it now, I love the fact your channel is all about budget PC gaming! ❤ I would also like to see more CEX buys, as a fellow brit I can appreciate any bargain for PC components from a retail store
Works great and was under $200! i5 8400, 16gb ddr4, rx580 8gb, 1080p
great work as always
Can I ask where you bought your components from? I'm planning to do the same for my son.
@_Quint_ majority of the parts were sourced locally 2nd hand and from friends.
@@_Quint_ please consider getting a processor with hyperthreading. Even though 8500 is decent, lacking threads may lead to inconsistent frame times. Something like 2600/3600 or 4770. They're a bit expensive, but will save your son from frustrations :)
Thats close to my old pc. The nostalgia is real
Very nice video! Reminds me of my pc I bought on eBay with a 8th gen i5 and a 1060 for just £210 earlier this year.
I could always watch budget PC build.
So much better than high end. :D
Nice! Those hellcrack cases and these CIT ones can offer great value for money
Very nice and clean PC. Works perfect for its use case. Damn, its super clean.
This is a great starter build. Depending on the PSU you could easily upgrade to an older but still capable i7 and a used RTX card.
For the same i might go with xeon e5 2650v4 for $5 and x99 worth $50
The GPU can be amped to rx580 and warzone2 shud be playable at balanced preset
Would you consider a vid featuring any of the msi £50~ price point pc cases available on amazon? Loved the case today
Perfect for Minecraft, I probably would've looked for a GTX1070 instead of the GTX1050TI but the build is ample, great video once again 😀😊
“Cheap n Cheerful” you’re a real gem Steve! Hope you never stop bringing us your polite shenanigans😜
Giving Toasty Bros some competition across the pond with these builds.
"All that's left to do before putting the board into the case, is slot the SSD into place." Damn. Bars.
😂
New mobos can surely be had for same or less than such a beastly base than the one shown, yeah? Maybe not. Good to see your work again, it had been a while! ✌️
GOOD-LOOKING MACHINE when its all together!
The 1060 6Gb is also a great card still😊 I build alot of low priced starter gaming pcs, and I mostly use 1060 cards in them with the rest of the specs changing. They do great and my goal is to give people the option to buy something cheap and not overpriced that can game😅
My old rig with a 4790k and 1060 3gb still run gta, fortnite, cod, r6, insurgency, arma 3, escape from tarkov decently well. I was still impressed lol
agree, Shoudlve got a slightly better gpu imo
@@jponz85The 4790K is still a great cpu😁 I even use i7 3770 in builds if they pop up, but 4th gen and above is really the way to go for a budget starter😊
I have the Crucial P3 1TB. It is an absolutely awful drive to install windows on. I decided to just format it and have it to store games on. Works fine that way. It overheats and causes the system to hang often with windows installed. Hope your family member has better luck than I did. (now to watch the rest of the video :P )
@@assetaden6662 that and emmc are the absolute trashiest forms of storage. sata ssds and nvme are the way to go for boot drives, and I like hdds for mass storage because im a cheap bastard lol
I think that with 300€-350€ in my country you can build a decent PC
Ryzen 2600:40€
B450:40€-50€
RAM:2x8 2666Mhz 30€
SSD(new):1TB:50€
PSU:500w-600w(new):40€
Case(new or used):30€
1660 GTX:100€-Rx 580 4gb/8gb 70€
and that's what I got quickly through second-hand pages, now is not a bad time to build a simple PC
You can set the BCLK at up to 102.9 without upsetting the non K ecu's so thats basically 3% free extra cpu and memory performance
Builds like this are always the most enjoyable.
this has literally been my pc for 6 years, man, time flies
Show the prices at the same time!...I wanna see if I can afford it so I can get excited...I'm still gonna watch anyway
Always love these kind of videos!! Thanks a lot mate!!
Thanks for watching:)
I built a system using an i5 9500, rtx 2060 and 16gb of 2666 ddr4 and a 500gb sata ssd for my 7 year old during the summer and it runs all the games he plays very well (minecraft, roblox, fortnite all over 60 fps with medium-high settings. great system so far
doing something similar with an old 6700k in a H110M mother board after the Z77 main board failed paired with a RX6600.
Intresting , just proves you dont have to pay massive amounts to get in to gaming .
Some of the older bits still have some life left in them .
That was my first mid range PC build back in 2018. Excellent CPU for the price back then and still capable of good gaming performance. I paired it with 16GB of DDR4 2400 MHz and a GTX 1060 6GB. Even worked well with an RTX 2080. Now my 13700K and RTX 4090 make this seem like a potato...haha how things have changed!!
I love smart budget builds, I feel like my ryzen 5600 + rx 6600 combo will be just as competent as this PC is in 4 years
Here I am with my 3090, still watching this video. Great stuff as always.
My first gaming PC 4 years ago was running an i5-8400, 16gb oloy ddr4 3000mhz, and an xfx rx 580 8gb, powered by an evga 450w psu. Pretty good system for 1080p medium settings.
nice to see the 1050ti still chugging along! Budget cards nowadays really can't compare with the value that this card had in it's day.
Wow, nice build 👍
Your voice is so calm. I love it!
hey mate. awesome video!! btw, how much would smth like this cost? Thanks!
Great video, just a few days ago I had a friend ask about some recommendations for something that will run some games at decent performance.
Great channel, really great. So much fun!
Thanks!
Upgraded my friend's PC from GTX750Ti for him to play CSGO2... Since He was on tight budget, So this was the best upgrade path at the time... Upgraded i3 4170T, I think to i7 4790, 24 GB of 1600Mhz DDR4, Gigabyte Z97 Mobo, 1T Kingston SATA SSD + 2T Barracuda HDD *He loves his Animes* & Palit LP 1050Ti... Like you said, It'll not run the latest & greatest titles but for FPS/Casual Competitive, It did just great... 🍻🍻🍻🍻
In fact, I had the 500W version and it exploded even with just an fx 8350 and a gtx 1050ti so I'd really recommend staying clear from it
This is honestly what I want to have. I just need to save money and hopefully will build one soon.
I built a crazy value PC with a Ryzen 5 3600X, 16GB 3600MHZ RAM, and an RX 5600XT for only 330$. Was the best PC I've ever built for that value.
I spent $450 dollars in a gaming pc with a monitor. Bought everything used, took me 2 months of put together but its an amazing build.
Ryzen 9 3900x
Rx 6700xt
64gh 3200mhz ram
1tb nvm
3tb hdd
Lian lee case
B450 motherboard
The monitor is an LG 165hz, 1400p, HDR, monitor.
I also got the StellSeries Arctis 9x headset for $30.
And yes i paird this gaming beast with xbox gamepass.
This was during the summer.
I recently also built a budget pc, but i choose i3 gen 10 instead of i5 gen 8 since it has better gaming performance, and if i want to upgrade the i5 gen 10 is quite solid
I have a similar pc, where I have a ryzen 5 2600 and an rx 6500 xt, and its a pretty good pc for around £300
I dont recommend modified, only official ones.
i play cs2 and other games and I've got 8gb and it works great, i've got a friend who plays minecraft and League of Legends and he's got 4gb
You could have used a more powerful GPU with that i5, if the customer had the budget for it.
Good video as always. Good job, mate!❤
Perfect Linux computer for office/home work.
The ancient cpus can do it aswell on linux
what earther do you use or recommend, i'm paranoid about doing any build work
Every time you post im like is this the day that its better than my pc😢
Only thing i have better is a 2060
The main thing I could see not being tested here are Minecraft mods, like texture packs and such.
Great Minecraft rig. :D
Can you make a video about the cheapest sub-20L Itx pc that’s worth it for gaming?
I saw that Amazon still has new 1650s just if you wanted something newer. Think they were around £100. But was a month ago I saw them.
Great content... Keep it coming!
