Splitting a Big Rock

A fairly large (as compared to my 6foot tall frame) you see how big this rock is and I split it with merely a cole chisel and a regular hammer. Then discard it and retrieve a BIG ROCK. next video. cutting real soon. First run hopefully with counter weights.

How come you don't use the thumper device? Hang weight from the center of tripod place thumper between heavy weight and rock. Two legs towards cutting third leg behind heavy weight. You can swing the weight and walk the tripod

I'd get a slightly bigger hammer. A stubby one (to limit your swing) that's about twice or thrice as heavy. The idea being that it imparts a specific impulse to the rock. Tho, it is true that you also need the splitting kit for it to work right, wedges and spreaders.
