    Dynamite doesn't represent what BTS is. This song had two purposes: cheer up people during pandemic and to be used in commercial purposes in US (because we all know that USA is not open for foreign language music to the absurd extent). So it was strategic, but still fun. Dynamite has this particular Western sound and not really contains heavy meaning, but still this is very fun and good song that served its purposes.
    One important thing with it that it wasn't written or produced by BTS which is rare occasion. They usually make their music themselves (some of them did songwriting and producing for other artists too, including American artists). And while Dynamite served its purpose and was a huge and somewhat unexpected success (for BTS themselves), unfortunately this song now used to portray what BTS are in the West. And this is far from reality but leads to heavy prejudice amongst people who are not familiar with them and their catalogue.
    Once person is open-minded enough to dig past their three English singles and fake image of shallow boyband that was put on BTS by western media, they quickly realise how diverse and talented BTS are. They have over 300 songs in almost every genre. Pop, hip-hop, rnb, edm, rock, even latin pop. So just tell as what genre you prefer and we'll provide you with songs we think you can enjoy.
    And, yeah, JK just likes milk. And most of the sets are not green screen. I think only the last one with rainbow was green screen.

    • @amberpearce710
      @amberpearce710 ปีที่แล้ว +90

      Respectfully I will disagree about Dynamite about being a “strategic” song to get in the western market. That song as NEVER intended to get that big according to BTS. They liked the beat so they decided to use it. This song was one other their ways of coping through the pandemic (they also have mentioned this). They tried doing the lyrics in Korean but it just didn’t sound as good so English it was (they also mentioned this). The song was only meant to uplift people during the pandemic that was it. Of course we all know getting non English songs in America big is nearly impossible, but that wasn’t BTS intending purpose. BTS entered the western music market pretty much with this song by accident.

    • @volhan.p.9722
      @volhan.p.9722 ปีที่แล้ว +35

      @@amberpearce710 maybe you right. But I think at least after Dynamite they figured out what's going on and Butter and PTD weren't an accident. It doesn't makes these songs bad or ill intended (Wasn't PTD gift from Ed Sheeran?), they just understood the tendency. And BTS being BTS when they decided that they don't want to do English singles anymore even if these songs boosting their success in the US.

    • @amberpearce710
      @amberpearce710 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      @@volhan.p.9722 I also wanted to add that Dynamite, Butter, and PTD are not their only full English songs. Actually Waste It On Me was their first all English song (also the remix of Old Town Road with RM). I do think that song did very well but didn’t do as well as Dynamite obviously (I wasn’t part of the fandom when this came out so I could be wrong how well it did). So I could imagine how surprised BTS could have been when Dynamite came out and how well it did. I do think BTS has pretty much always known how hard it is hard to enter the music market but just released it even more later. Butter I can see why people would think this. I honestly agree and disagree with this is Butter. I will agree that they used more for western success but mostly because they saw a chance to win a Grammy but at the same time BTS (especially RM) pretty much knew they weren’t going to win. With PTD yes it was a gift from Ed Sheeran so it would make sense that it was in English. Especially with Butter and PTD they really didn’t know what to do, because of covid but because they didn’t know what to write/talk about and everything (I mean Black Swan says it all). I would say Butter and PTD were song that they did because it is what they could do at the time (mentally) and those songs where some of their ways of coping. So I will also agree and disagree but I do understand your point of view as well.

I used to think they sounded like girls when I first heard of them 5 yrs ago, until I realized they just have beautiful and unique vocal tones. I don't have a problem with people not knowing Jimin just has a high voice and thinking he looks feminine. What I hate is when some reactors are like "that's a girl, there's no way it's not", and mock him too cuz a lot of reactors laugh at him and his voice, which is disrespectful af. My mom always thought Jimin looked just like a girl and sounded like one, and wouldn't give them a chance until a few months ago I finally got her into them....and now Jimin is her #1 bias lol

      Same, sometimes when I encounter a bts hater I always ask them why they hate bts, and they dont repond. "Have you ever seen a bts video??" They always say no. But some ppl have a reason like my brother, who respects them, but just doesn't like the army fandom, while my sister is just a mule (stubborn as hell), with only her ego and "reputation" to show, I showed her many bts videos but she says she doesn't like it, yet she doesn't have a reason to hate them. Even all and I mean ALL of her friends and my friends are army, we'll be vibing and having a conversation about kpop but she's just there...sitting, completely lost. Tbh bts is the first boy band I've had interest in, I think the issue is that people have problems trying new things and ultimately think it's garbage, society nowadays like to read a book by its cover, some might not even need the book cover.

      I feel like some people just tend to avoid popular things because everyone seems to like it all of the sudden. I don’t think most people who say they hate BTS really “hate” them but it’s more like they don’t want to join the hype, especially when it’s forced on them and they feel like they don’t get to discover the artist because they chose to. Which can also be seen as weird because when you think about it, if something is liked, it has to be for a reason.

    Suga said before that if you listen to their music without prejudice, you'll like it. The Dynamite MV was mostly greenscreen because this was filmed during the height of the pandemic so they just build the sets and CG everything else. BTS' music videos and performances are known to be very practical and big-scale, and they rarely use greenscreens.
    If you want to react to more, I would like to suggest Mic Drop or ON Kinetic Manifesto Film to react to next, both have good cinematography and smooth transitions. If you want to hear a variety of genres they make (not just pop music) I want to suggest the Festa Room Live 2021, where they sang a medley of some of their b-sides from 2013-2021.
    Edit: I don't know why did you find it weird for him to drink milk in the MV because it was literally mentioned in the lyrics "shoes on, get up in the morn', cup of milk let's rock and roll". You should turn on closed captions next time 💜

    I can relate to you because I was once a hater of bts for no reason. I've heard of them in 2019 because my niece is a huge fan and I literally scolded her each time she plays their Korean songs. It was just so annoying because I couldn't understand what they were saying. She knows I love pop music and when Dynamite was released in August 2020, she played this without telling me who the singers were. I loved the vibe and it kept playing on my mind. Then I searched for it on TH-cam and to my disbelief, it's BTS. But it was only in January of 2022 that I got really curious about who they really are because they're all over different social media platforms. I started watching their documentaries, their MVs, their live performances are amazing. Aside from Michael Jackson, I've never really seen any western artists performed better than BTS. They are not just known for being great singers, rappers and dancers but also, their Korean lyrics are so deep, meaningful and inspirational. The message they send through their music resonates with the general public because they tackle depression, anxiety, mental health, discrimination, social expectations, self love, hard work, following your dreams etc. They have 3 English songs Dynamite, Butter and Permission To Dance which they released during the height of the global pandemic to bring positive vibe and hope to all their fans across the world. Their 3 English songs are not really that deep compare to their Korean songs. The seven members are all songwriters, producers and composers. Although they have in-house producers, they are actively involve in writing, composing and producing their songs from their debut album in 2013 to their solo stuff until now. Their music genres include Pop, Hip Hop, Latin Pop, EDM, R&B, Ballad. Name it, they have it. Their fans ARMY are not just screaming teenage girls but people who are in their 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s even 60s and 70s. I'm 48 and I'm an ARMY. Here are some recommended songs for you to discover BTS'

    Also Dynamite is "NOT" what BTS music 🎶 sounds like. That's a huge MISCONCEPTION.
    All their insanely popular songs like Butter and Permission to Dance in the West, DOES NOT represent their music at all.
    Mainly because it's not written and produced by BTS themselves and the purpose of those songs are merely exposure purposes cause the Western industry doesn't particularly accept any foreign music.
    BTS music is quite DIVERSE, very diverse.
    They don't stick in one particular music genre, so if you think Kpop is a music genre then they don't fit KPOP at all.
    BTS is mostly known for deep lyricism and positive messages behind their songs.
    And most songs they produced are written and produced by the members themselves.
    Their song topic are uncommon and very controversial so some of them got banned 😅. Their songs are about mental health, depression, OCD, life and death philosophy, dark side of education system, corrupt government, unfair society, the system, suicidal thoughts, Greek mythology, planet, their life, human emotions such as pain, sadness, and anger, including human ego, persona, shadow, their love for music and so many more.
    The members themselves especially the rap line write and produce songs or albums and they releases it for free and it's completely non-profit.
    They've been around for like 10 years, so don't think they just popped out of nowhere and become famous overnight because of their "wealthy and powerful company and their huge label" backing them up. Cause I know that's what most people assume about BTS which is literally far from reality, cause they literally came from a very very very small company near bankruptcy with no power to promote them or whatsoever.
    They started as the the underdogs in the music industry, from literally creating their music from a very old garage to creating the biggest music company in SK

    70 year old BTS Army here. Not bad? This song got them their first Grammy nomination. They now have 5. They also have 11 American Music Awards including Artist of the Year and a record breaking 12 Billboard Awards in addition to 700+ awards globally. Drinking milk is weird? My husband, a rock bass player drank milk and fruit juice every morning. He didn't drink coffee or tea. No offense, but I think it's weird that you think it's weird. 😁 also, they normally don't use much CGI if at all and there is usually a behind the scenes video you can check to find out about a specific MV.
    Since you're late to the party, saying you have a lot of catching up to do is an understatement! ( BTS made their debut in 2013.)
    How about "Mic Drop", Steve Aoki Remix, (I am going to assume you know who Steve Aoki is.), then "On - Kinetic Manifesto Film", then "Black Swan". That will be good for starters! You will need to turn on your English CC. Their lyrics are really important to most of their music and it can be quite deep. Turning on the CC will let us know you are serious. Thank you! 😊

    The group has a 300+ discography, covering 10+ genres and the highest credited member has 210 credits but the rest of the members are also leading upto that number. Each member also has a thorough and ongoing solo artistic history. Most people hating out of no reason come from a generalised bandwagon of poorly researched, wrongly interpreted and barely tolerant ideas around the group due to the misconceptions over the group's years of history. If you simply patiently explore the group with an open mind, without assuming that will do. I can guarantee there will atleast be one song you like from their huge diverse discography if not more. But if diving into bts extensively doesn't interest you that's ok. All I hope is if people took to understand that for the fans, the largest reason of such a deep connect is they introspect and articulate extremely well in their music. Leading to a help and encouragement in a variety of everyday issues. A lot of their music also adresses to sociopolitical issues, bringing clarity to someone who might have had a tough time articulating opinions.

    5:33 had me sent. I think you were trying to impersonate V, and his smirk in the end. The thing is, he wasn't trying to be weird, that's just the way his mouth moves when he side smirks, because of his square shaped smile. You'll learn as you watch them more. Plus...V doesn't just try to be weird... he IS weird lol, but in a good, fun, down to earth and unique kind of way haha. The members show all their goofy and weird sides to their fans through multiple platforms, and they aren't afraid to be themselves. I imagine it helps some of their fans to embrace their own quirkiness too.

    Prejudices limit us.
    BTS are seven very different artists in a group, their discography is huge and it is practically based on the different chapters of life and our development as humans, a lot of psychology, a lot of criticism etc.
    They are 3 rappers and 4 vocalists, they do hip hop, R&B, ballads, pop etc.
    Their English songs are not made by them, just a rap part in Butter made by RM.
    Those songs don't really represent them as a group because they were just to bring good energy to the pandemic.
    I recommend "RUN BTS" at the busan concert or dance practice. (Careful, only "RUN" is another song with a video clip belonging to a universe created for albums and you wouldn't understand it).
    Or if you want a small sample of various songs I recommend "BTS festa 2021".
    PS: their lyrics are very important, they make their music, they comfort people through their story. 💜

    It's when one particular member do the ending scene with their own free style, most common is when they pretend to act like their out of breathe, act cute, look cool, etc.

    BTS's music is really diverse. A good video to react to that will show their range is BTS Festa Room Live. It's a medley of a bunch of songs. As for the Dynamite MV they used green screen because it was during the pandemic. The lyrics also say "cup of milk" so that's why he was drinking a cup of milk, lol. Glad you gave BTS a chance. All 7 members are so talented...not a weak link in the bunch. There are two groups of BTS haters...fans of other kpop groups that are jealous over how successful BTS is and non k-pop fans who see other people hate on them for no reason and just join in for no reason. I'd try to stay away from just straight up "hating" people for no reason. Especially when you're not familiar with the culture. I only say, I wish people would move away from saying you "hate" something or someone because its spreads a thought process that HATE is a viable emotion to things you havent taken time or energy to try and, if not understand, then become less ignorant about.
    That being said, it's wonderful to try and understand new things even if they end up not your thing. With this song, its a fun song from a time when everyone was stuck inside and feeling scared and terrified of what was coming next in the pandemic. If you dive deeper into their catalog you will find many different genres of music and lyrics that have multiple meanings. I recommend BLACK SWAN, MIC DROP, AIRPLANE PT 2, AND NOT TODAY. ARMY (BTS fans) will help you on your journey.

    According to member J-Hope, the name signifies the group's desire "to block out stereotypes, criticisms, and expectations that aim on adolescents like bullets".

    Okay, it's banana milk, which is Jungkook's favorite. Just to let you know. Again, other's addressed the green screen, due to COOVID. I suggest doing a little BTS research...

    I feel like most people just hate bts because they just want to?? I've met people whose only argument were "do you even understand their songs" or just straight up being racist towards them .
    I feel that if you actually listen to them without having any prejudice you might actually come to like some songs since they have literally all genres in their discography.

    I like how you said that Jimin has a unique voice and I rlly am not suprised that you like this song because it rlly is a great song with lots of happiness put into it and I agree with you, this song sounds very nice at the end because there are little harmonies with the main voice at the same time which makes it sound rlly nice. Tbh when I see ppl being rude to haters I don’t exactly think it is right for them to be rude, for me if I see a hater saying something rude about my favourite group or artist, I would tell them to stop kindly because if you tell them rudely it’s 1. Disrespectful and 2. Not the best way to tell a hater to stop cuz if your parents didn’t know them and said something like “oh they are all so cringe and nobody should like them” I am pretty sure you wouldn’t tell ur parents to Stfu or anything rude to make them stop, right? So yeah but I am not saying that Haters should always say something rude then we should just be like omg it’s a hater oh well it’s not like it’s gonna hurt his/her(his/her in meaning your fav artist) feelings or anything, I am just tryna say that you can’t Jude someone for not liking what u do cuz they might have their own reasons and it’s their opinions and if they say smth rude then tell them something kindly not rude (if u know what I mean by this)
    Ik this is prob the worst explanation cuz I am rlly RLLy bad at explaining, hopefully you understand what i am trying to say🙃

    I personally think that most of the people don't actually hate " BTS " . The thing which they hate is actually their Fandom. Sometimes, The fandom becomes so toxic, you can't even say anything about BTS without being verbally attacked by them. Which further leads them to hate btw as well...
    *My Opinion*

    React to more BTS. Dynamite is just a snippet of how good they are. You will be very surprised by the variety of music they have. They are not the typical boy band as everyone think they are. Oh and yes, you will become a fan....I can guarantee it. I just started to listen to them about a year ago and I was really surprised of how good they were. I'm mad I didn't find them sooner lol

    You should react to BTS more.....like you at first i dont like them but im a music lover, given them the chance...whew🥰im impressed with their music. They do different kinds of genre and the lyrics are meaningful. Since you are a 1st timer let me suggest BTS room live FESTA 2021, they're singing live and medly of their songs. Just turn on the caption. I'm so sure that you will be surprise. They are famous because they are amazing performers. They are not a typical boy band.🥰

    Wasn't sure I wanted to watch this when I saw your title, but I'm glad I did. I have no doubt you'll fall down the rabbit hole, and I'd like to stick around to see it, so I'm subscribing. Don't keep me waiting though, lol. BTW, you should see how diverse their range is; for starters, I suggest you watch "On: Kinetic Manifesto Come Prima", "Run BTS" (the song, not the show), "Black Swan," "House of Cards" (live, please), Mic Drop, Not Today. Don't forget subtitles. Have fun!

    3 years ago I never wanted to listen to their music, but then I hit a low spot and found one of their videos and just watched it. I love and appreciate them now because they made me smile with their music when I was at my lowest. Kinda cheesy but they changed my life and inspired me to chase after my dream. My life is completely different now all bc I clicked on one of their videos randomly.

    Thanks for being open-minded. It’s okay not to like certain things. Others have responded to the green screen. Dynamite is far from one of their best songs and it doesn’t feature their own lyrics as they write and produce many of their own songs in many genres. They are not a “typical” boy band! They really shine in live performances.

  • @hankakah4180
    @hankakah4180 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    There is something I always say to new listeners to BTS. They have over 300 songs in their discography and cover many genre. They have rappers and vocalists which gives them a multitude of different songs to produce, as well as their dancing and choreography. The problem with most people is that they try to put BTS into ONE box, a stereotype of what their beliefs were about what this band should be. The problem is, they are NOT what people expect them to be, they are what they are.
    My saying is that not Everyone will like all BTS songs, but there IS a BTS song for Everyone!

  • @TheHorses95
    @TheHorses95 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Thank you for giving them a chance. They have som many different genres and they alle help write and produce their music. They I would really recommend you to watch their live Tiny desk concert, Room live but also there Live performance's in general because they are incredible and always sing live.
    If you want to se amazing music videos i would recommend their 2 videos of On, Fake love and Black swan. On their TH-cam Channel Bangtantv they have behind the scenes off all there MVs but also dance practice, more behind the scenes stuff and alot more.
    I really hope that you would check them out more and see why they are really different from a lot of other artists.
    I really look forward to your next reaction.
