To be in with the chance to win your own HOTBIN composter just let us know in the comment section which one you'd pick from their websites: UK: hotbincomposting.com USA: hotbincomposting-us.com You can choose from either the 100 litre or 200 litre HOTBIN composter and the winner will be announced in our next video! Goodluck 🎉
Would love to win the 100ltr bin as being on a pension, I have limited funds so unable to buy one. I hate throwing away green waste and making my own compost would improve the soil in my small garden and any left over I can use around the grounds of local hospice where I volunteer. Fingers crossed!!
Spookily, I have just been trying to persuade my husband to get a Hotbin. They look brilliant, and we use a lot of compost! I would love the 200litre composter ❤
We love watching or channel. It's relaxing viewing and interesting ideas. Would love to win a 200 litre Hotbin, like the one you promoted in this video. We are doing are own renovation, not on the same scale as yours. Thanks
I am a young teenager who had no friends and found a passion for gardening and after convincing my parents to let me have a raised bed made I now have a whole allotment 16 chickens 1 cockrall 2 greenhouses, also making flower beds everywhere and spend all my time in my garden, and I have a dream of having a small holding I would love the 200L compost bin to put all of my garden waste and chicken waste in.
I am so glad that your parents let you try and that now you have found what you like to do and by the sounds of it you are making a good job of it. Well done and I wish you the very best and do hope that you get your small holding, do not loose that dream. Have a lovely day.
You are inspirational. Please keep going, it’s obviously what you are meant to do. You will never regret the skills and knowledge you gain doing this, I WISH I had the opportunity to do so - I’m in my 60s now and love doing the same things. Your mental & physical health will be optimum- your general well being so good. Nothing beats sitting in a garden on a sunny morning with a coffee with your chooks before harvesting 😊😊😊
@xrtpd Start a TH-cam channel! You've got loads of content to show off, and any problems or stuff you don't think you're doing right can be shared with and learnt from the TH-cam community (they're not all bad)! Just film everything and remember there's always people who will love what you do!
When you're ready, a duck pond with all that clay. You can train your ducks to go into a secure duck house at night. They eat ticks, flies etc so are perfect at keeping your land clear. Their waste is also good for the land 😊
"Join us next time on Camp Out West when we will be taking a pottery course and learning how to throw mugs and teapots from all the clay we have on the land" Seriously though, it must feel so nice knowing you have all that drainage in now before the weather turns. A good job well done!
@@CampOutWest as a potter I can definately say you can make pots out of garden clay. Also, look at Raku kilns as well as "usual" ones as I think the effects from Raku would be right up your style. I'd have a 200l hotbin but frankly there are far more people who could do with one. I have a dalek type and have registered over 50 degrees in it this summer. I love your channel, one of my favourites on youtube.
Muddy fields are no fun! Great looking drains. Have you considered building berms and swales to make use of any uneven ground? It's a permaculture technique that collects rainwater and reroutes it along channels (or into small stand-alone ponds) that are planted with trees and plants. Check it out, it's a brilliant addition to self-sufficient homesteads!
As a side note, l had a tiny house constructed, on a prepared concrete pad, in 2018. It was built in a single 24 hr period, spanning two half days, and then it rained, so very, very lucky to get it weather tight. Covid began the following Spring, which in turn, unforseen at the time doubled the cost of raw materials such as the wood, plus we are the only people who ever attempted this project, l dont think the location could be tackled again, as logistically it would be virtually impossible for anyone to attempt what was done here. We had very clever people, who overcame impossible odds, one example being the house was delivered two miles away, on a huge 32 tonne flatbed without lifting equipment , so had to be lifted off with a JCB, and then travelled on the forks whilst elevated over several fields. My point being, to attempt this today, would easily double the cost, plus when you add it's uniqueness in location would attract a further premium. It is probably the only building that has quadrupled in price during this short period, and so l am sure you two are also aware that everything you both do, ( in the rain, mostly) is adding value, plus a premium in price too, and though you are not wishing to sell, it still remains a very strong investment, which with hindsight leads to a renewed sense of financial security with all the money you both have invested, without ever mentioning the sheer hard work, which others would have to do, or pay for today if they wished to achieve your same fabulous goal.👍
Teaching my 7yr old how to grow our own food this compost bin would a massive help in cost and also another lesson in gardening and being self sufficient. Such an inspiration to us starting out too 😊
Happy for you that companies like hot bin have started to see how hard you worked to increase the reach of your channel and want to work with and support you. Well deserved! Hope summer comes back for a while! 😊
I am happy to see you got the break in the weather to get the much needed drains in, and they work well ,and will definitely make a difference. Hopefully, you will get the quad you need .all the best, Martin
You are doing so well guys, the drainage is a huge job done. I’d love to win a 200 litre composter for my garden. My garden isn’t huge but all my neighbours love growing things and I’d love to be able to help them out by providing the compost. We have a lovely community here in my village in County Durham, and my neighbours are just the best. It would be nice to show appreciation by being able to help out with compost. xx
A brilliant update as always folks. I would love to win the 200l hotbin bundle, it would be perfect for our organic waste and chicken waste from our land. Already looking forward to your next update, you’re doing an incredible, conscientious job!
I’m very lucky to have 2 allotments and all our excess produce goes to our local food bank / homeless shelter. The 200 l hot bin would be a great boost to us growing even more next year. Keep on doing your things, you two are amazing. 😊
Bite the bullet, spend the money and get a Kubota tractor, they do 0% interest finance deals and while they're expensive, that thing has already saved me so much money it's not funny. We have 4 acres and it's worth its weight in gold. We have the BX23S which is the version with the bucket on the front, excavator on the back and the 60 inch mower deck underneath. I couldn't recommend it enough.
Thanks for the suggestion. It would be an incredible machine for us but we just can't bring ourselves to buy anything on finance. I (Emilie) have always had a fear of debt or buying things we couldn't afford/or buying on finance - I know it's not a bad thing but from growing up in a very financially unstable home that was deep in debt it just scared me for life 😂 I also have a chronic illness that has cost us a lot of money via private health care and I just have that fear that if it got worse and it effected my ability to work how would I then pay off whatever I had on finance. I just can't bring myself to do it 😂
To add to the above, my father (age 61) “inherited” a used Kubota along with the 22 acres he and Mom planned for a retirement hobby farm. He used it continually, to deepen a stock pond, to spray potassium on his pecan orchard, to move manure, to stack hay, to mow pastures, and much more. It was indestructible, until I noticed, after maybe 15 years, he wasn’t using it. When I asked why, he said it needed a lube job. The previous landowner had thoughtfully left the tractor manual, which listed quite a long list of lubrication products required. I copied them down, and, since Christmas was approaching, called his local hardware store and ordered all that was required. After Dad lubed up his Kubota, it was back in use, and continued until the death of my parents in two successive years just after Dad turned 80. My brother and I included it in the sale of the land, as the new owner would need it. P.S. i’m not saying it went that long without maintenance; I have no idea how often he changed fluids as I was just a yearly visitor.
Good for you working on draining the land. That's a big job but one that will pay off immensely over the years. You're right about covering the pipes as animals will find that interesting homesites if you don't. :) Also, Emily, love your trellis and green house. Your plants are looking great! Great work!
The 100 litre hot in composter would be perfect to get us started in our new garden once we get moved in the next 3 months. Really enjoyed watching your journey along with my wife and it’s given us drive to do so many things ourselves upon our move completion.
Your videos have got to be the quickest 20 minutes of my life. I could watch for a lot longer as I find them so calming and therapeutic. But totally understand you guys work full time plus and building your beautiful home and homestead. Thank you. 😊 Good luck to those entering the competition.
05:38 It is absolutely amazing to me how delicate such a large cumbersome machine can be, although I'm sure it's the operator! It's simply beautiful to watch as the gravel gets in the hole and not all over your grass. How excited you guys must be, and Maggie, too, as her precious paws will not be sopping wet after a romp around your park! ❤😂😊
Hotbin - the 100L version would be perfect for our new vegetable garden we're setting up. Love the videos, always something different happening for you.
Thanks for another interesting episode. Those drains look like will do the job well. Beautiful Maggie in the sun would make a lovely photo or postcard. Cheers from Carol in Australia.
The 200L HOTBIN would be an amazing thing to win as I would love to gift it to the Rays of Hope Cancer Support Group charity that has been supporting me over the past several months. They are creating a Hope garden for those on their cancer journey to be able to sit and rest their bodies and minds. This composter would be a fantastic way to help keep that garden happy and nourished, like Rays of Hope is doing with the people they help. 🤞🏻🤞🏻 Thank you for the chance and your generosity. x
200 litre hotbin. looks good, the temperatures should kill off pests. its probably a big job to amend your clay soil, might need to speak to some experts.
I have normal compost bins at home that don't work very well. I've looked at hot compost bins before but always thought they are expensive. I'd love one though. The 200 litre Hot Bin would be brilliant to try - help me compost my veg patch/garden waste and get new compost to use in the veg patch for growing more veg. love your videos btw - look forward to them.
My mum was an avid gardener and would have loved your channel. I’m useless so not going to ask for the bin but it’s fabulous one of your lucky subscribers will win one too!
A 200 litre hot composter would be great for us. We have a big plot with lots of garden waste as well as chickens and kitchen waste from a 4 person family! Thanks for the competition and the lovely videos.
Armature gardener here, i would love to with the 200l composter for my garden. Great content as per usual. Wished i could go live off grid and be more self-sufficient. Has a go t tomatoes thisnyear and finally ive not killed them.
Being 70 years young I’m looking for something easy to help me compost, the 100 liter would be amazing. Thank in advance for giving people a chance to win such and awesome product. Good luck to all!
oooh like the look of the Hotbins, Probably looking at the larger say 450 litre 'mega' one ! (would love to try the 200 if we won!!) ~ Much love from Devon!
Hello Jon and Emilee: and I did not forget Maggie. I am very happy that you are getting some good weather to work around your property. Yes in deed drainage on your plot will make growing and building items safe from floods and sink holes. The green house that you too built is producing hardy plants and all look healthy. The house is looking better each time you post a new video. A lot of love and care I can see and tell with your new house. Keep safe and have fun.
I love matching your videos and admire what you do. Not a criticism at all, but it's good practice to wrap land drains in a geotextile to stop it silting up. It would let the water through, but keep the silt out. Keep up the good work guys.
You picked the perfect time for your French drain system with this weather we are having. Love watching your videos and we’ve been growing our own food at home for a little while now and a hotbin is on my list of things I want to get, we’d go for the 200ltr as that would work best for us due to having fruit trees as well. Can’t wait to show my husband yours working so he oks me buying one lol
The drainage system you have done really made a big difference. Looking forward to seeing the tiny house completed. The 200 ltr Hotbin would be an amazing addition on my Allotment. To have compost ready after 90 days would be amazing and be so good for the ground, adding more goodness to the soil more than once a year. This would save me so much money and time as well. I would love to have a proper composting system. Best wishes
The positive side of having clay soil is that Acer trees love it! And Acers are beautiful. You can get lots of different varieties, and the colours they produce are brilliant- especially in autumn! We have clay soil at our house and 3 very happy Acer trees!
Hi Happy people. The work on the land is looking amazing & the thoughts you have as to the next upgrades is well thought out. Good luck finding the equipmentt you need & well done with the growing of plants & food.
I've already got a functioning compost bin which deals with the bulk of our waste, but a 100 Litre bin to deal with the bindweed kindly donated by the vacant house to our rear would be good.
Would definitely love the 200 litre hotbin composter, so much of our food waste goes in the bin, need something like this 👌 watched your videos since the start you guys do a great job.
GIVEAWAY! To be in with the chance to win your own HOTBIN composter just let us know in the comment section which one you'd pick from their websites:

You can choose from either the 100 litre or 200 litre HOTBIN composter and the winner will be announced in our next video! Goodluck 🎉
200 Hotbin please 🙏 Better than the pile I've been laying on the ground😅
We would pick the 200 litre like you we have some land and a bit garden ,but no composter and no money to buy such a great big of kit
Would love to win the 100ltr bin as being on a pension, I have limited funds so unable to buy one. I hate throwing away green waste and making my own compost would improve the soil in my small garden and any left over I can use around the grounds of local hospice where I volunteer. Love that you have found your passion! Being a teen is hard and I promise you will find your tribe 😊 I hope you win 🤞🤞
Excellent story. So happy for you! Many of us never find what we are looking for. xxx
I am so glad that your parents let you try and that now you have found what you like to do and by the sounds of it you are making a good job of it. Well done and I wish you the very best and do hope that you get your small holding, do not loose that dream. Have a lovely day.

I send Jon cute duck videos regularly 😂😂
Duck eggs are sought after by bakers of cakes, so you could add them to your honey and bags of clay for sale.
yup
Great progress. My husband Stu just said that the clay is amazing. Let potters in the area know and have your own clay mugs made. All the best.
Thanks Darina, that's a great idea! Our friends actually have a potting studio, we should ask if they need any clay as we have plenty 😂
You should use the clay area to make a pond. So nice to look at and it givs serenity and biodiversity to your property.
From looking at the old pictures from the 50's it looks like their used to be a small one here before!

I do not need much convincing to buy a pottery wheel and kiln 😂

French drains are always the way forward. We live in the valleys and it saves us from loads of run off.
So excited we finally have them!
Thanks for the shout out! It was lovely meeting you at the Royal Welsh Show😊
Great to meet you! Thanks for showing us around 😊

Nice job on the drainage - sometimes you just gotta' ask for help, smart move! Tired baby at the end, haha.

The sweetest girl ❤️
Great videos! Really inspiring to see what you have both done. New subscriber ❤ 🙏
HOTBIN 400 ❤
Clay is awesome for building cob houses, it is a resource, and a hell of a cheap way to build.
Which it was aloud in the residential caravan act we have to follow 😂
100 litre compost bin would be perfect for our starting road to a small holding
Great video👍
Missed you guys glad you are back 🏴🏴🏴🏴
🥰🥰🥰
They are fabulous ❤
Grapples. Buckets. So many attachments.
They sold their home, so there no restrickemted with debt, so it's probably not an option for them. Good shout though for others here in the market
The small one. Just a regular small urban garden here but it would be very useful.
Glad you got the expert help it was worth it. Glad the Welsh weather gave you a break to do it 😊
Craig and Di were amazing 🙌 🙌 🙌

So happy the drainage is in! Thank you, can't believe we are going to have our own polytunnel too!
I so enjoy your story…thank you for having the courage to break away from the Rat Rest…and share it.
A 200litre compost bin would be great for all our garden waste. Love your videos and what you are doing.
I would go for a HOTBIN 200- loving the videos keep them coming guys!
The 100 litre hot in composter would be perfect to get us started in our new garden once we get moved in the next 3 months.
Really enjoyed watching your journey along with my wife and it’s given us drive to do so many things ourselves upon our move completion.
Great work as always guys 0 The 200-L hotbin would be a great help on our allotment plot to dispose of clippings and grass and feed the veggies!
Would love the 100L hotbin.

We would love the two hundred litre hot bin. It would help us so much in our garden and allotment .xxx
Great amount of work
Wishing you much success in all your endeavors
So glad to see you getting people in with machines - it's great to see the progress. Well done!!!
I like the HOTBIN (200ltr) as I have a lot of garden waste.
100l would be perfect for our urban mini farm 😊
Things are sure coming together for you still a long way to go.
A 100 litre bin would be very good, I could sit it beside our worm bin
Those drainage guys are experts . Neat work.
They really are! Maggie is also completely obsessed with them, she loved having them on the land for the week!
Maggie was our favourite part of this video ❤️
A 200 litre hot bin would be amazing for us. We have recently moved into our new home and have a lovely garden we want to get ready for spring!
What a great giveaway and slick composter. I'd love the Hotbin 200 but even the 100 would be awesome! Those trenches will be a game changer!
A 200 little would be great as just starting my garden
Hi Camp Out West - Thank you for arranging the giveaway with hotbincompositing, I would love the 100 Litre one.
100 litre hotbin would be great!
The 200L would be lovely
The 200L HOTBIN would be an amazing thing to win as I would love to gift it to the Rays of Hope Cancer Support Group charity that has been supporting me over the past several months. We have a large alotment plot so 200 litre hotbin would be great, fingers crossed
I am interested in hearing how the composted does. Being "hot " hopefully it will kill weed seeds. Thanks for the inspiration. ❤
I can't believe how hot it gets. I find myself giving it a hug on sunny days as it's so toasty 😂
Love seeing the progress as always.
Thanks David! Been working on your wedding this week, can't wait to share it with you both 🙌🎉
I have normal compost bins at home that don't work very well. I've looked at hot compost bins before but always thought they are expensive. I'd love one though. The 200 litre Hot Bin would be brilliant to try - help me compost my veg patch/garden waste and get new compost to use in the veg patch for growing more veg. love your videos btw - look forward to them.
Love your videos ☺️ HOTBIN 100 looks so good, would be a fab addition to our veggie plot!
Great videos as normal, a 200 litre hot bin would be good for us, a large veg patch needs lots of compost.
Those land drains are really going to help the land dry out in our rainy weather here in Wales. They are going to get great use this winter too
So excited to see the difference they will make on our land over winter! Di & Craig did such a good job 🙌
The 200L hotbin would make all the difference in my West Wales garden ❤
Good morning you definitely need good drainage in Wales. Maggie chilling in the sun ❤
Maggie was so sweet sun bathing ❤
A Hotbin 200 would be fabulous 😍
Hello Jon and Emilee: and I did not forget Maggie. I am very happy that you are getting some good weather to work around your property. Yes in deed drainage on your plot will make growing and building items safe from floods and sink holes. The green house that you too built is producing hardy plants and all look healthy. The house is looking better each time you post a new video. A lot of love and care I can see and tell with your new house. Keep safe and have fun.
Hotting 200 Ltr would be a great addition to the ongoing renovation of our garden. 🙏
I think the hotbin mini would be perfect for my garden.
I love matching your videos and admire what you do. Not a criticism at all, but it's good practice to wrap land drains in a geotextile to stop it silting up. It would let the water through, but keep the silt out. Keep up the good work guys.
HOTBIN 200 - Great video again, showing immense progress each time!
Those hotbin's look great. We go through a load of fruit and veg everyday so the 200l would be brill!
Amazing opportunity for your viewers thank you for sharing! I’d love 200L hot bin! ❤
Best wishes
Definitely a 200 litre hot bin. A great addition to produce some golden compost for the next plantings.
Your doing amazing job guys xx
Thanks so much 😊
A Hotbin 200 would be perfect as my traditional compost bins take so long in the cold Yorkshire weather!
Great progress on the land. Well done! I would choose the £255 large composter if I had the money to purchase one 🌞
The positive side of having clay soil is that Acer trees love it! And Acers are beautiful. You can get lots of different varieties, and the colours they produce are brilliant- especially in autumn! We have clay soil at our house and 3 very happy Acer trees!
I would choose the 100L compost bin, but would be fine with the bigger one too 😅 thank you
Hi Happy people. The work on the land is looking amazing & the thoughts you have as to the next upgrades is well thought out.
Good luck finding the equipmentt you need & well done with the growing of plants & food.
Thanks bob. Can't wait until we are ready to put up our Polytunnel! 😍
Amazing to see your progress over the past year+ I'm inspired to start composting, the 100L Hotbin setup would be great for my setup. Thanks!
I've already got a functioning compost bin which deals with the bulk of our waste, but a 100 Litre bin to deal with the bindweed kindly donated by the vacant house to our rear would be good.
Would love the hotting mega!! Fab videos!! ❤
Love this, it’s very therapeutic watching the digger. The 200L compost bin would be amazing x
Love seeing you guy's making good progress and it always gives me a smile. Thank you.
With 4 people in the house and multiple raised beds gardens, a 200 liter Hotbin would be great! Thanks and best wishes!
Would definitely love the 200 litre hotbin composter, so much of our food waste goes in the bin, need something like this 👌 watched your videos since the start you guys do a great job.
