What to do with dried alliums from your garden

Alliums are one of my all-time favourite plants. But what do you do when they have dried out. A member of the onion family, this ornamental flower looks absolutely stunning when in flower. In fact, I always think that they have the appearance of a continual fireworks display.
However, when they have finished flowering, and their purple or white flowers have faded, the heads retain this incredible shape which, I have seen used in floral displays in the Great Pavillion at Chelsea Flower Show.
But, I've got another idea of what I plan to do with mine...

Can't remember exactly when it was I became interested in dry flower arrangements but at a guess, I think it was 2016. I so many, they have been sent up to the loft in cardboard boxes (accompanied by blocks of soap which is supposed keep moths away!?) 😊

Hello :) Can you tell me the advantage of hanging them upside down as opposed to say just putting them in a large vase and enjoying them whilst they dry. I have about 40 flowerheads heads and I want to dry them. Thanks!

Hi, it's just make sure all the moisture is removed from the plant.
