Universal heirlooms are definitely a flop for me, the whole point of heirlooms are how they fit the character and have a whole bunch of personality.

This is the same reason people hated the Ash heirloom cause it didn't really seem to fit. I really hope this event flops so respawn get their ass in gear and stop trying to squeeze every penny out of players, both the buster sword and this heirloom have like 3 animations which is pretty lazy considering the price

I was ignorant to think universal heirlooms would be rare and tied into a cool cross-over, like Final Fantasy was, I got the Buster Sword to tide me over until Vantage gets her personal heirloom. Now I’m realizing that the game will probably die before the circle back to that. So disappointed…
I rly think they should've kept these universal for colabs or do one of these for every anniversary event..But they want to over do this..5..5 more of these they want to add in a row.. Who's gonna buy them?.. What's the point?..Oh u can customize them..But it's worth 600$ to change a god damn color when recolors are 160$ or less and u can get 2 heirlooms+ banner,pose,voiceline, finsiher or emote.. Literally u spend 4 times the price and lose 4 items..

Looking back it just makes me sad the community as a whole didn't fight back harder even after the first event because no other F2P game seems to make you pay over 200 bucks an event potentially just to collect everything. It's such a scam
I've been playing Warframe. The equivalent to a collection event is a prime resurgence. $200 for everything in the event, but also you can get everything for free.
@@skylershuman7705Do NOT compare Warframe to Apex..U can get everything for free if u farm..Even the in game currency aka silver u can get by selling parts of primes..I have a friend that grinded everything and has many characters fully costumized all for Free..In Apex u can't even get 1 AC for free..

As a community we need to do better in standing up against respawn. Get your favorite content creators to stop buying out events for bland videos and get your friends to stop buying skins when they first come out.
@@mechaflood2247 It also doesn't help that you're rarely if ever left feeling forced to pay for things, there not being any other method of acquisition, or not being able to buy things directly when you have to pay in Warframe.
These aren't really problems the average player would face in that game since the most sound solution would be to just _Grind_ lol

Hey i get people that bought FF7 sword..It was first of his kind, it was a colab and it was FOMO..But this new one is pure trash.. Nothing is amazing in any aspect..Looks Ok, Has no good animations and clearly has no personality cuz it's universal..
I don't understand how they fail to realize how much more money they'd make if they made heirlooms more affordable for the playerbase. If it's less expensive then more people would want to buy it, it'd generate more trust/respect from players, and that would generate much more money in the long term. But no, they chase the short term financial gain and lose out on both player respect AND money.
That's what being blinded by greed does to these companies. It makes them oblivious to the better solution because all they understand is "Higher number is better!"
I've always thought about this. Why charge so much and sell so little when you can make it affordable and sell 3x as much.
The problem is that for every 3 people that say they would buy, not guarantee, that they'd get a 50$ heirloom, there is somebody okay paying 150 or 300 for these. So as long as they are making a killing, it won't matter. And unfortunately voting with our wallets does NOTHING. All they see is "oh this type of item didn't work let's try a different heirloom type instead". On top of that, the allure of them helps sales. If they were cheaper and easier to get, people would not spend as much on packs

In Group A, I can estimate that out of the 100 people only 10-15 people would rationalize buying the heirloom at $160. That would come out to a revenue of $1600-$2400.
However in Group B, I can estimate that out of the 100 people there'd be at least 40-50 people who would rationalize buying the heirloom at $60. That would come out to a revenue of $2400-$3000.
Making something more accessible to the average consumer means that more players will be able to afford it and more revenue will be generated in turn. Not only that, but you'll ALSO have many players who can now purchase multiple heirlooms rather than just the one heirloom for their main legend of choice. It has a compounding effect on the amount of people buying them and the amount of revenue being generated.
THIS IS EXACTLY MY POINT when I say that greed can blind you to better alternatives. When you're so focused on big dollar signs and making as much money as possible in the short term you miss out on making even more money in the long term by simply being more generous to the average consumer.
Because heirlooms are meant for the whales and not the average player.
Sadly the marketing team of every company is always the most developed department, they know what they are doing. In simple terms people tend to not care about the price AFTER they decided that they will buy it; in other words the hardest part in selling something is making the customer want not the thing, but want to BUY the thing after that the price doesn’t matter as much. So selling something at a third of the price is only a risk for the company as even if just one out of three customers is fine buying is at triple the price (and that happens because of what I said before) is not worth lowering the price

They basically stopped at the season 11 character ash it’s so sad seeing the game go down this path they’re literally telling us that they don’t care about the game. They only want to make as much money as they can with universal heirlooms.

Basically Heirloom shards are useless for a part of the community, that will grow overtime..So don't say "Oh only the low picked legends won't get one" cuz even the future legends won't get one..In other words..Respawn can release a banger of legend that has 3rd highest pickrate but it will never get his/her legend based heirloom and that will be fucked up..Universal Heirlooms or Artifacts are ok if they where the free version and u can spend money to costumize them like a pre legend heirloom thingy but not smth to overcome/overshadow the legend based heirloom bc cmon now u can't say the big sword and this Katar are better than many legend based heirlooms bc both of us know ur lying..🤷

i've played almost every day since season 4 and I have one heirloom. every battle pass, every collection event, at least 100 dollars on packs....and I still have just one. lmao

@blankshadow2050 most people that haven't played as long saying they have multiple have bought tons of packs and just don't want to admit it. Have a friend like that, he has 3 or 4 and said he only spent 20 dollars a couple times on the big pack bundle sales. Months later finally got him to admit he spent hundreds 😂
First on level 220, second on Level 860. Bought maybe 3-4 times 20 pack bundles. Played not all seasons.
Recolors of heirloom are worth less instead of release new recolors they just had to make em level up to new color just like prestige skins

I really doubt that legend heirlooms will stop. They're releasing new legends at a much slower pace, so they'll eventually catch up to where every legend gets an heirloom weapon + skin... they are probably just trying to spread out the time a bit with the universal heirloom and upgrades.

As a Crypto main, I would've considered getting the heirloom just for the finisher, if the finisher was better.
Default finisher: Asset Procurement - He grabs a USB like thing from the downed fellow, which has information which Crypto wants, he takes it, and then he's gone.
The legendary finisher: Grab the downed fellow, have his drone scan the fellow for all their worth, while he's looking around to make sure no one's sneaking up on him, knocks him out and leaves.
"Heirloom" finisher: "Heirloom - A memento of legacy" - Grab a blade that's fractured into pieces, assemble it, start "floating"/"jumping" while t-pose horizonal slash them (WHILE SPINNING MIND YOU). - It has nothing related to Crypto except the blade.
The previous 2 finishers where all to "gather information" and just "knock out" - the "heirloom" finisher is not there for information, Crypto knows you're guilty, and he's there for the kill. But what does he do? An unassembled blade, slow kill, ineffective kill, no urgency or desperation from a fugitive, no caution, no rage against his assailant - just an expressionless ineffective kill. It just felt so disappointing.
Bloodhound at least used technology, that which went against their principles from their youth, and combined new ways and the old ways of the hunter.
Bangalore had an intimidating presence with brutal "Going in for the kill" with effortless execution, worthy of that of a soldier.
Caustic with the unholy abomination of poison corroding flesh and bone to a mere sludge, fitting for toxic trapper.
Valkyrie bringing a storm of blades to skewer the down foe with impunity. (Fitting if you know Valkyrie from nordic mythology, since they were battlemaidens (although this may be me missremembering popfiction and mythology)
Revenant grabbing your soul and pulling it into his shadow realm. (Hella metal, if I was revenant main I'd get it for sure, shame I'm Crypto all the way)
Loba finally getting some actual claws fitting for her, (although imo disappointing), she stabs the foes up close and personal and makes them disintegrate. She really robbed them of everything they had.
Meanwhile Crypto: Wonky horizontal spin slash attack while floating/jumping.
Of course it's a little bit unfair to compare 15 mythic skins to merely 1 finisher, but it's only mythic finishers that I can compare with

If they want to add things, they shouldn't complete cancel or leave unfinished other things (like the heirlooms for characters that do not have one yet, how some prestige skins and heirlooms have certain features that the others do not have, making some of them look like they have less value)

Im a day one/season 0 player and still to this day, i dont have an heirloom for any legend whatsoever
I haven't played the games in months, I never payed attention to the new updates to the game so when cross progression happened, I got all my heirlooms but I had duplicate heirlooms so I lost that money and I also lost 80,000 kills because I logged into my pc account not my PlayStation account. That killed my motivation for the game and I haven't touched it since. I got burned by Respawn and now I don't buy in game items or skins anymore.
Spending money over virtual shards to unlock virtual skins in a game is such a dystopic idea. And thanls to EA, it's real. Not leaving anytime soon.

The smartest thing they could do is drop all the remaining legends heirlooms at once, and release new legends with their looms, and just do periodic collection events for shards.

as someone who has only recently picked up the game after dropping it in season 4. the current state of heirlooms baffles me. there's so many and it feels less like a fun side thing to get rarely and more like a way to show you spend tons of money

I played Season 1, 2 and 3 and the most crazy thing you can have back then were the Wraith Knifes.
Now I came back to Season 20 and it feels nothing special any more tbh.

I genuinely to this day believe that heirlooms didnt only not fit the character but didnt feel that much valuable after they released the third heirloom like with the first and second that is wraith which was there since even before season 1 and blood hound they were so good and detailed that felt like it has to be with that said character but what really made people realize the downfall is after the purchasable heirloom that can be equipped with every legend the coblat knife and that giant Guts sword

the PK recolor was the most egregious heirloom for sure
What mostly bugs me is i have wraiths recolour kunai and prestige, but they don't seem to want to give the older mythic items love, i just want the dive and to swap out the emote for a finisher. sadly this wont happen

it went wrong when they started releasing recolors of heirlooms after the community said no more recolors in event skin.... i knew it was over when i saw people with the wraith recolor heirloom. they could've just updated animations and colors for free, but here we are at deathbox skins.
in season 8 i lost heirloom shards for no reason, but i think it was because of the crash. ( i had 150 before they gave everybody free shards)

Most of the history of heirlooms exists before EA bought out respawn. Now all we get are overpriced universal heirlooms. New Castle was going to get his heirloom next but they trashed the work
I’ve been dreading this moment. This really pisses me off because they made an octane heirloom recolor a few weeks ago when they could have released another characters heirloom like mad Maggie or Newcastle. Really pisses me off how lame respawn and ea are.
So what happened to those skins that would change the legends character select screen animation?? I think that detective pathfinder skin is so rad why Don't they do that for all prestige skins?

I’ve only bought 2 of the heirlooms I own out of 6 total, the rest, randomly from 500 loot box openings and random shard drops, I’m really lucky compared to most people I play with but I’ve invested hundreds in cosmetics and I’m pretty selective to what I spend my money on in game purchases nowadays, EA already got too much of my money over the years, I haven’t spent any real money on Apex for well over a year and it’s gonna continue on this trend
They can do whatever they want with cosmetics. Character heirlooms are great, but the target market is limited. Universal heirlooms are for everyone and if you dont want do do the collection events that are fine too since they are rng and expensive. the new materials for them seem cool since now you can get them along with the reactive skins using the currancy, but we dont know how much that will cost. I think they format the seasonal challenges for the flatline is meant for engagement along with the battle pass with a plus of earning the skins for a heavy discount to being free though playing. We are able to play the game for free. if you cant afford it then thats tough. Riot has been doing more stuff for the whales to make them feel more separated from the free to play/ small spenders. they had a 500 dollar jhin recolor you got from grab bags similar to how this current event is going.
Make a video to of that they still didn released the new bloodhound heirloom anitmations i want them to know.

Wait I just realized that after I bought out the s8 collection event with the heirloom shards it reset my pack count and I got more heirloom shards 17 packs later😭

As someone who bought out the Secret Society event in a moment of weakness... Yeah I have serious regrets.
The thing that put me off heirlooms was the fact that I had opened upwards of 300 packs from just levelling up, never spent a penny on packs. Not a single heirloom in sight, my friend spent money on 100 packs and got 2, I refuse to believe that paid packs dont have increased heirloom odds, all I ever wanted was Caustics hammer and I never got it, now I dont even have the game installed because I stopped caring

I should at least be able to use heirloom shards on the "artifact heirloom but I can't ... figured I would be able too on the buster sword once the event was over.... I like the newest one but it's still another sword thing. Only cool because you can change the color but too expensive... so once again only money gets you somthing special when we should be able to achieve these things by just playing the game and they could make money in other ways
i was in the second to last wave of people to get their accounts back in season 8, i got nothing, and my friend who got his account back literally 2 days later got the rewards -_- still feel a little cheated about that
Random heirloom shards in apex packs is one of the best things in the game. I got mine around season 9 I think. But it’s really crap I have played since week 1 and have only gotten 1 random heirloom. Are people still getting them? Every 500 apex packs like it was originally? It’s too late now but I wish they would have heirloom grants based on number of kills or wins with a legend. Even if you had to pay a reasonable price to access it lol no way that would happen.
Thank God I got my heirloom shards in the free packs. And then like 20 packs later I got more shards. I was a day one player without an heirloom for like 14 seasons and getting them almost back to back kinda made up for it

I used to buy every heirloom, no you couldn't give me the money to buy them... Used to be events every 4-5 months, now they're every other week
Can we also talk about the fact that they give us trail (when we jump at the start). And then they remove our trail like that for buisness reason ? I feel like it's so unfair to just remove something to your players like that
heirlooms fucking suck in general because you're either doing an ungodly amount of grinding for what is essentially some cool idle and melee animations or you're paying a metric tone of money.
and I'd like to remind you, that EA DOES NOT CARE. I had issues with shards...I opened shards 2 times, right as server crashes happened. OK, I didn't get them - talk with support. Great. Back then there was live support and I kid you not, they escalated the issue both instances many many times. Turns out, server crash happened before they got recognised, buuuut it didn't stop there. Because the first time it bugged, it reset the counter. So I opened my first permanent heirloom that I still own on pack 700+ . So, now I have 1 instead of 3 :)

I was technically over level 1000 before prestige was a thing now I'm about to prestige again and still don't have an heirloom. I very much question the certain amount of packs and you get one, if I'm not over 500 packs opened I'd be surprised
apparently u need to reach level 2500 or something to guarantee one
Every legend deserves an own unique heirloom
Got one after playing for since day one the lost my account in 2 months thx ea
They don't want to put in the effort of an heirloom and a full event for characters with low pick rates, they won't get enough sales.
