      my black truck does it, too, really helped the engine after fixing it all, but I think my black truck will run forever without it. Lol. i'll do it at some point

    Dude I wish this video came out before I did my timing chain! I would highly recommend the OSK kit though.

      I heard that was a good kit too! I tried too fond one but I don't think I could find one with the parts I was trying to get as a full list but funny enough I only used the chain the tensioner and guides hahaha

    how did you set the timing with gun what do you have to disconnect to get it a base timing and i imagine you would than turn distributor.

    Hey buddy on the timing cover bottom left where there is a 10mm bolt and a little above it it's another bolt(looks like a broken bolt), is it just to make sure the timing cover aligns good or is it an actual bolt spot just broke stud stuck in.

    • @JapaneseMinitruck
      @JapaneseMinitruck  ปีที่แล้ว

      if there isn't a hole to access it from the outside, that it's definitely an alignment pin!

      @@JapaneseMinitruck did you have any issues with the tensioner? ive seen most people swap them out with the self adjusting one

    • @JapaneseMinitruck
      @JapaneseMinitruck  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @purpleRider05 i just stayed with the factory style one that came in the kit, the new guides are no longer plastic. If I remember correctly we're just having metal guide so that's where you pretty much have. Most of your issue is the plastic trash guides, I don't think you need to use the self adjusting adjuster

    Hey man nice work!!! What year model is yours? I got a 92 and I'm wondering if the firing order is different.

    • @JapaneseMinitruck
      @JapaneseMinitruck  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Damn I don't have a straight answer for you in that, mine is a KA24E but it's a 91 it's either 94 or 95 Nissans ka switched to OBD2 using a different timing chain cover and new style distributer to from OBD1 To the crossover year OBD2 the plug set up on the dizzy mag be different but I imagine the firing order must've stayed the same, I'm not quite sure though so take this info lightly!

    • @brianshepherd1183
      @brianshepherd1183 ปีที่แล้ว

      I got my timing chain back together figured out the firing order and on start up the truck runs nice but driving down the road it's running trashy. Do you think I'm off a tooth and can I advance it a tooth without taking them cover back off. I hate to bother you man but out of all the videos I've watched you're the only one who get theirs running correctly.

      for sure, my issue, I think in this video was that at the start of the next video I end up going back to a different thermostat, mine wasn't opening at the right temperature

    So basically if you line up the marks on the cam gear and the crankshaft it should start right up

    • @JapaneseMinitruck
      @JapaneseMinitruck  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Make sure you properly timed your distributor and have your spark plug wires in the right spot if it's not starting after doing the timing chain
