Bisti Badlands is badass! Get away from the parking lots and you'll see very few people.

We'll be there in July, but we have done some research and seen that it's very easy to get lost.

yeah, I read all that stuff too. Which is why I didn't venture too far away. I met some Germans there who did venture out- we met up later. they had no issues there's lots of footprints to follow back. Have a GPS route plotted to be safe.
