Nice review Cooper. I met you a couple weeks ago when I was in town. You and Chris and the staff were great and made us feel welcome. Keep up the good work. Adding this guitar to my wish list.
I also enjoy Cooper's guitar playing, and Chris as well...but if you have never seen the guys on Anderton you owe it to yourself to watch a couple of their offerings. Those Brits really play with joy, especially some of the older videos. Just be certain to buy from Alamo!
Thanks for the review of the Guild Baritone, Cooper. Your demo answered many of the questions I had about the guitar. Very much look forward to you reviewing more Guild guitars, especially more affordable ones, in the future. Keep up the great work and playing!
Sweet playing Dude. Love my Guilds. I have a 75 G37 and a newer GAD125CE. Almost bit on an Alvarez BT until I saw this video. This Guild blows the Alvarez away
I have the 8 string version. Great guitar, but, the string pins are too tight in the holes, so risk splitting the bridge or breaking when removing them. I put brass ones in, it improved the sound. Also the strap buttons I found to be too small, (they're like ones from straploks), so I swapped them out as well. The action seems a bit high, but it needs to be since those fat strings need some space to vibrate. Sounds fine plugged in, plays great and opens up lots of possibilities and alternate keys. I love mine and play the h##l out of it!
Go get a proper setup on that bad boy! That sounds like such a fun guitar to play! I want one 😂 but for real though, I just spent like $70 plus strings for a full setup and a few small tweaks and my acoustic is playing like a dream now! That would get your high action sorted out and get it set perfect 👌 keep shredding brother!
If you are a baritone as a singer and want to start learning to play guitar so one can sing to ones playing is it a good idea to choose this type of guitar that is already a bit lower so to match ones own voice best? My voice in a rested tone always lands in Bb.. can one get these in Bb then? how does it work? new to guitar and foremost interested to learn about music to explore and improve my voice... thanks! :)
☑️👍dang güdd guitar just got one _ never really considering a baritone guitar before , and so glad I did ; not only does it have awesome tones but plugged in sounds even better ; now I can sing all the John Denver songs my bad badd vocals could never reach before to my heart's content , without tuning my acoustics D#_d# , anyhoo maybe not all JD songs ‼️🤨🥺😣😖☻️🙃😝
A question that I have been trying to find out is can these be used for open tuning slide guitar. I have big problems with my wrist and can only really play that style.
Question: Does anyone know how good the ladder bracing is compared to X-bracing? I have heard the ladder has better tones but may go out of tune, and the tp may not hold up from cracking. What do yo think?
As for me, the ladder bracing sounds more delicate and balanced between strings but less dynamic, more vintage in a way. No pb with tuning. No pb with cracks on the top if properly built with steel strings in mind (the very old ladder braced guitars designed for goat strings may be unable to handle steel strings) and stringed with moderate gauges. Imho, the main reason for cracks on the top is the lack of humidity control, eg storage in the attic.
Well done Cooper! I'm really wanting a mid-sized solid mahogany guitar, I'm torn between saving the $$$ and getting a Guild OM-120 or just going for the tried & true Martin 000-15m. If Guild would put out a USA version without the gloss finish, I would be very inclined!
Furch blue om mm > martin 000-15. The furch is African mahogany vs Martin's North American mahogany. Fruch is 44mm nut vs martin 42mm. Furch is dove tail joint vs Morrison (what martin uses in cheaper guitars). Furch is tap toned bracing vs martin using very thick bracing not even scalloped.
For whatever it's worth, I greatly preferred the Guild M-20 to the 000-15. That comes with a satin finish, at least in the natural finish. Slightly cheaper than the 000-15 too.
That guitar sounds great acoustically, but that Sonitone is just useless terrible-sounding quack! I would buy this guitar in a heartbeat if it didn't have the Fishman.
Agreed! The only decent acoustic pickup I've found is the Fiahman Rare Earth with the little microphone attached. And that's only with the mic engaged and in the right spot. And then you have to worry about feedback. The pickup itself is better than many, but still leaves much to be desired.
This fellow is an outstanding player. These vids are worth it for the playing itself.
I half expected Cooper to say "Sorry folks. I need to cut this demo short. This guitar just got sold." Great video as always!
Indeed. I tried to order one the day this video posted and it was sold out.

You are my favorite TH-cam musician. I love your playing style!!!

Excellent video! Great job! Because of this video, I'm now considering a baritone acoustic, which I had no desire to look at before.
" They are having a renaissance in my mind."
Classic😊
I have a Guild parlor guitar and love playing it. I had to get a Guild as I grew in Oxnard and would not be a daughter of that beach town if I didn't.
Lovely playing and sound bro!
Sweet playing!
I really like Guild. Wish they still made some electrics in the US.
@Billy Donuts Guild has been owned by Fender since the 90s.

Well played young man, bravo.
ive never owned an acoustic and almost exclusively play high-gain but who knows, maybe ill buy a baritone acoustic next
Would love to see you guys do a review of Guild’s OM-150CE!
Darn, I wish I could play like you!
Thank you for the great video. One question: Can I tune this to C standard? (C to C?)

Sounds amazing! Looking at one on reverb
Excellent guitar!
I'd like to see you guys do a comparison of the Guild D-1212 all solid Mahogany 12 string and the Guild F-1512 all solid 12 string guitar.
I second that. That’d be a good comparison.
4:32 - 5:09 belissimo
Can a different string set to be used for the baritone tuning on a “normal” guitar, or must one buy a baritone guitar?
nice but i suspect it comes with no case and where do you find a baritone acoustic case?
gator makes a jumbo case
Guild also makes a really nice gig bag, which I have, it's nicely padded, has one big pocket. Good alternative if you can't source a case.@@blindlight
That piece at the end sounds strangely familiar. I just can't remember where I heard it before.
Question being beritone can I play a regular ccr song it ? In that tuning

This question does not apply to this guitar. This is an X-braced guitar, not ladder braced.

Like your versatile styles...great playing God gave you skills you seemed to maximize them

Not enough music is recorded on these.. modern music is missing out..
Cooper can just intimidate the guitar into performing.

WHY is your THUMB WRIGGLING around like a worm on a hook when FINGER PICKING???😂🤣😂
Just get to the point. The entire first 2 minutes of this video was completely pointless.
The part where he is describing every detail about the guitar and what it is? Ya who cares about that stuff right!? 😜😂
@@JayBoogie666 I said the first 2 minutes. Give one example of anything remotely interesting or relevant in the first 2 minutes. I'll wait.
