I find the baritone tuned B to B is too loose/muddy for me. I tried several different string sizes and settled in with medium gauge strings and tuned D to D. This is where some people like to tune their 12 strings. I sold my 6 string and got the 8 string. The 8 string works very well for me. I use it for solo shows.
I want one of the guild baritones. I have the Alvarez artist version. It's become my main guitar, I go back to normal acoustics and they just don't do it for me tonally anymore. Could be that baritones just have SO MUCH fullness and resonance.
@Tex Haines You would have to use no bigger than 56-13 medium gauge strings to tune E flat... baritone is B to B with 70-16 strings... if you used the baritone strings, and tuned to E flat, the string pull would tear the guitar apart .
@@texhaines9957 got it... I always tune D to D, and sing there... strings are too loose for my feel on a 25.5” scale, even with 59-14 strings. The 27” scale on this, tuned DGCFAD should give me perfect string pull. Think I’ll try it... not expensive.
@@texhaines9957 yeah, just capo on 1 and then you could use the G shape voicings. Or capo 4, use E shape voicings. Shoot, I think I want to get one now.

as he's strumming, i'm thinking of the joni mitchell song "just like this train". nice guitar.
Really nice shape
Great fingerstyle, Quinton. It's time for a record, I'm telling you.
Nice value for money, just as the 8 string 😊 Grate playing yet again 👍
I'd love to hear how Buckets of Rain sounds on this guitar.

You reckon you want the Guild even though you own the Alverez? I can't decide which to get.
@@PatrickMcMahon-tz9rn oh yeah I do. I want more than I room for lol. Doesn't mean it'll happen. It would be nice though.
ギルドのギターに関しては、山下達郎さんが、「ギルドギターの音は、低音が鳴るのでロック向き」と言ってましたが、まさしくその通りだと思います。
Making me think how that would fit in with singing. Might be easier to play in Eflat.

@@jed1166 not tune to E flat. Capo & sing in E flat
My bad.

@@TheAcousticLetter Thank you! Beautiful tone!!!
How come the guy on the right never plays a guitar?
He plays.... but you always let the best player take the lead.
If you were in the backfield with somebody like Walter Payton, would you be getting the ball ?
@@jamesfyffe2610 lol...😄
He is a drummer.
@@jed1166 lol is he?
Nice but way too big omg for my ooo size as a player... 🎶🎶🎶

1:39 "These really shine when you plug them in" is all you need to know about a it. What a bunch of bullshit.
