Great to see your views as this has had a few tests on TH-cam recently. Problem is that for the price (it’s about £200 in the U.K.), you could have an LC Racing Vehicle eg the EMBT truggy which is stunningly engineered and is faster on 2S than the Dee is on 3S. I think if you can get one in AUS, it’s a must for your collection.
Not an RC guy by any means (my last rc car was when I was probably 10) but my wife picked one of these up for me from Amazon for Christmas. They have started sending these with a different battery pack that is triangle shaped, not square. The specs on the side are 18650 11.1v 16.65Wh 1500mAh. I'd have to say mine is almost twice as fast as the one you have in this video on the stock battery and based on the detailed look at the guts the only difference is the battery they sent. Perhaps now it is a 3s battery instead of 2s? The 3s test drive looks very similar to the speed mine hits. I'm pretty happy with the thing, its just a toy for me to waste time with so I don't need a Traxxis or whatever the good brands of R/C are, I've hucked it off some dirt bike jumps and sent it flipping down the road at max speed and it just keeps coming back for more.
You are correct- they HAVE updated this to a brushless motor and 3s battery packs. Pretty good deal as far as that goes. Durability and driveability (handling) might be the questions I raise. Edit: I'm leaning towards getting one, btw
Mine came with the 3s Li-ions and I'll say it's a decent car except for the steering. Maybe it's just me but I bought 2 of them and the steering sucks on both of them. The servo is fast and responsive but no matter what I do the thing just veers too much. The wheel alignment is off a bit and can't be adjusted, so what happens is when driving at any fast speeds you try to make micro adjustments and it's only going to turn one way or the other because there is going to be play on one side or the other. It makes it hard to steer cause you try to veer a bit left to straighten out, but it doesn't do anything and after veering further over to the right you overcompensate. Then when trying to veer the other direction it's actually responsive. So like at any given time it's going to be properly responsive in one direction and not the other. It's almost impossible for me to even do a top speed test because I can't keep it straight. When it's going slower speeds or driving off road it does ok though. I tried to turn them both into FPV rigs and am regretting it now because they are just too impossible to steer at anything close to top speeds. I've tried looking for upgrades to the steering but I can't find anything compatible.
Really? Something always breaks on it everytime i drive it. The wheels break super easy. The axles bend really easy. Did you have to repair it after every jump? I would be surprised if it last more then 1 battery pack in its stock form
Yeah first 10 minutes of having this rc car I took it onto a bit of grass, and it stopped right away and now the motor is having stutter issues and not sure how to fix it 😅
Help! I bought the knock off axial crawler like you have with the broken wheel. My first one was missing parts and they sent me a whole new truck for free. Anyways, it seems to me that I almost immediately want all new electronics in it.. the steering seems weak (thankfully it is proportional) and the servo doesn't respond well to slight steering trim adjustments. Shocks seem a bit too bouncy for me too. I know it's an inexpensive truck but I expect a little better. But my main issue is throttle here... Is it not proportional???? Because both trucks I have are not proportional throttle and I don't want to even drive them like that... What should I do? Please help!
you should get the newest version, but one of the things i problaby hate the most about this rc car impardicular is that the diff isnt locked, so you cant drift it and you cant have any drifting fun with it unless your on a compleately flat surface
Nice video, it would be nice if they would advertise the correct speeds. I do have one question, do you know what amps the ESC will go with on the FC610?
Great vid mate! We are seeing this more and more with these cheap brands. False speed claims, advertising wrong scale etc! A bit disappointing. I had a deerc 9300 recently and that was the same story. Hope you had a great Christmas 👍😎
I think as reviewers we need to call them out on it. Even if it takes 3s and needs 3s to get the claimed speed, they need to put that on the box like traxxas does with their speed ratings. I had a good Christmas thanks dude, how about yourself?
Certainly looks great, but I don't get why the manufacturers 'lie' about the speed of their cars? Surely it would be better to, either be honest and say what it will actually do, or put a system in it that will live up to the claims, even if the latter means it's more expensive?!! I recently put a very cheap (£20 at the time!) brushless system into my sons FTX Zorro, after the brushed motor burned out on the first run (not unusual for a brushed FTX, apparently!!). System fitted, and Holy cow!! What a difference!! Stock it would do about 20mph (estimated). Now, it's more like 40mph+!!! If that kind of system went in it from the start, offsetting the cost of the original brushed system, it would hardly increase the cost of the car! I know there might be durability issues with the drive system, but 3 months on, nothing has broken or stripped!! Yet!! 😁👍🏻 Happy Christmas to you and yours, Matthew. Have a safe, happy and healthy New year. 👍🏻
Hey Rob, I believe they do it to sell more rc cars and make more money, but it wouldn't be hard or too expensive to make it hit 60kmh claimed, but it seems this is becoming more common.. hopefully we can get it too change
@@MatthewSimm hopefully, yes. I'm sure they'd get more brand loyalty, knowing that any claims on the box would be close to being true?! We can live in hope?! 😉👍🏻
I just got one my self as a Birthday present and it's insane, I will say this it will plow through a half foot of leaves like nobodies business. Small stick's what small sticks plows right over them as well.
These cheapo companies need too tell the truth about speeds or people won’t buy those brands again. It looks good though and seems like an alright skatepark RC
100% agree bro and I'll be definitely calling it out as I think it's becoming a joke. The 200e is actually rather durable and I think with the right fixes, it could be an awesome rc car 🤔

I actually bought this car, biggest mistake ever, it sucks so bad, it burned out the first day, then they kept sending wrong parts, took 3 weeks to receive, and they still haven't made it right, I said F**k it and threw it in the trash, this car isn't worth 25.00 let alone almost 200.00, waste of money.
I'm trying to do more high end rc cars and more entertainment type of content but I'll still review the cheaper rc cars as some people cannot afford an expensive rc car, some are super fun to modify haha 😉
What 3s battery fit in this rc?
These are coming standard with 3s 18650 batteries now days. Just got mine todat. Questio is, is the 18650 batteries lipo or li-ion?

how do i get a 3s miter and where from
Which is better the Deerc 200E or the HBX 2997a?
HBX, I'm not a big fan of Deerc
what is the name of the 3S battery Matthew used in the truck and does where can i buy one?
Do you know what size is the nut that holds the wheel on? Mine didn't come with the wrench.

I believe it comes with an optional pinion gear that it comes with
