    Hi Emi, I learned the whole Airbus family, the Boeing family and the ATR family from your channel in 2 months. Keep up the good work, you're one of the best if not the best MSFS TH-camr out there. Big thumbs up.👍

      I certainly agree! However, I fly less the more I learn - realising the endless stream of details I can _never_ experience and know.
      Im obviously *not* the example to follow in a simulator…😂 Fly, have fun!

    Oh dude ... thats exactly why I love flights with (almost) real ATC so much! And then flaps 1, airbreak full and gear down at FL130. Yeah, thats it! What an amazing flight. You're the best cap! ***applause***

    Finally caught you making a mistake;)
    In the a319 you're not supposed to turn the APU Bleed on until 2 minutes after engine shutdown as the apu inlet is pretty close to the engine exhausts and poisionous vapors might get blown into the cabin.

      My company doesn’t have the 319, I have no FCOM for that 😂
      Well spotted!

    • @xeels2708
      @xeels2708 15 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      If I may add, I used to remember it was more about letting the oil seals of the APU compressor get up to temperature and working tolerances, as when cold, oil could seep through and atomize and contaminate the bleed air from the APU
      Because when I think about it, 2mins later the APU is still in the same place, it can't run away from the plane 😂

    • @Jannik_Stein
      @Jannik_Stein 15 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      This may be one of the reasons why you should wait 2 minutes after APU startup in every a320 family member, but I was talking specifically about the a319.

      @@xeels2708 Yes, but 2 minutes after engine shut down there is no danger anymore to suck in exhaust fume.

    Great video again, Emi! 👍
    One question regarding autoland. I was on a Discover flight from Marrakesh to MUC on Dec 01 2024. The captain informed us pax that they had to perform an autolanding due to low viz and asked us to completely switch off our electronic devices, not just have them in flight mode. My daughter experienced the same on an Easy Jet flight into Gatwick in late December. I this a new safety policy as I had never been asked before to switch off the electronic devices and I assume over the years I have been on autolandings before.
    BTW the flights to/from Marrakesh have been my first on Discover and I was pleasantly surprised. Very friendly crews and the flight deck crews on both flights have been very communicative and provided us pax with lots of flight technical and geographical info.

      @@FTStratLP It makes zero difference whether you put a phone into flight mode or switch it off. It stops transmitting and receiving either way.
      And on top of that I can't think of any equipment in an airliner that can be confused with a cell phone.

      We had that procedure ever since I started flying for airlines. For autolands additional safety precautions are necessary as modern PEDs can and do interfere with airplane systems.
      From crackling sounds in the pilots headset, over deflecting ADF indications, all the way to radio altimeter interference everything is possible.
      Now let’s be honest: How many passengers care a single bit about the crew telling them to put their devices into flight mode?
      I see them on the phone on approach at 3.000ft regularly when I fly as pax.
      If they’re instructed to turn the devices completely off there’s several benefits:
      1) Any possible interference can be excluded.
      2) ANY pax using ANY PED can easily be identified by the cabin crew and may receive special attention.
      3) the dedicated announcement creates a special sense of urgency with the passengers which may lead some who would otherwise not care to actually comply with the instruction.
      Always remember: The worst case of not following this instruction is that the rad alt signal may be faulty and the autoland might turn into an accident.
      You simply can not certify an airplane for any kind of device that’s brought on board.
      On a sidenote: The crews devices (EFB & cabin equivalent) are actually certified not to cause any harm to the airplane.

      If you have a HUD that is certified for manual CAT II/III approaches you couldn’t hand fly it.
      Without such HUD an AP is needed for both CAT II and III.
