Super video as ever, thanks very much. Brought back lots of memories our honeymoon 20 years ago riding a Moto Guzzi California around the Picos and Northern Spain. Such a cool place to ride in, perfect roads and mountains and eagles!
Excellent choice of music. Regarding language learning, I found out that learning to speak a language is much easier than trying to understand folks speaking it.
Ah brilliant Charlie, was looking forward to your trip to the Pico’s , lot of bikers on that ferry. Was that an Austin 1300 on the road there 👍, look forward to watching the rest of your trip, cheers, Mitch 👍
I'd spotted that too at a glance, likely1300 GT. Just before the meetup, was what looked like rear view of a yellow Caterham 7..! following a lorry and range rover...? Interesting what can be seen out there at time.
I’m totally inspired by your can do, get up and go attitude towards life. Motorbikes will hopefully always be here to give us motivation and opportunity to escape and enjoy adventure along with their comforting character and unique company. 😊
Great vlog Charlie, really enjoyed it. That’s some mileage in a couple of days. Loved the faces on the lads sitting together on the bunk 😂. Dolphins too 😍😎. Look forward to the next instalment and maybe a CFMoto squeezed in before that ?
Thank you Charlie, that is a lovely video all parts. I do like a ferry trip on the motorcycle and camping, looking forward to the next episode. Roger is the ideal bike for that trip.
You finished at Covadonga! Welcome to my home. I moved here in 2019 just before Covid struck. My family and I now live iin El Corralon up a mountain and love this area. We have donkeys, badgers, slow worms, frogs, 'wild cows' birds of prey, wall lizards, beetles and other creatures that regularly visit us where we live. Enjoy sharing your ride with others.. The Himalayan is the right size and power for these roads! XXXXXXX
OMG.... wot 'ave I signed up for here, was my first thoughts as I started listening (and watching) this here? Fortunately it fdid get better and now, i'm looking forward to Part 2!
Havent done that crossing in 19 yrs wow the ferry is a lot different with bikes. Probably about 30 bikes when I went! As usual fab entertainment thankyou. Having to give up my beloved motorcycling For health reasons unfortunately but will bike vicariously through u tube channels. Never thought would come to this. Thank you. Asturias and Galicia and the Picos are my favourite rides abroad and I’ve done most of Europe. The beauty is astounding as well as the people and the food. Was my hope prebrexit to live there. At 66 I will be able to in a few months but now can’t bloody ride
There's no doubt about it Charlie, The Picos de Europa area is probably the best introduction to touring Spain on a bike. I try to keep a lid on my excitement regarding my October trip every year, but you've blown that lid clean off! What a great warmup to what was obviously a great trip - it's going to be fascinating to watch as always. Oh, and that Austin 1300GT! Not seen one of them for decades! Looking forward to part 2 and beyond. 😎
Looks like a great place for riding, and a nice relaxing drink by the camp fire, you can’t beat a good camp fire to help you settle into a holiday ( and the beer of course 🤭)
Just wanted to say congratulations to Daisy on her achievement. You must be so proud, well done to her for doing the work and you for giving masses of support. Ride safe...
The whole coast is a great ride but Asturias is the most beautiful region of Spain, it is stunning. Covadonga is worth a visit whilst you are there, the seaside towns too like Llanes & Ribadsella. Don't forget to stay hydrated with Sidra. 👍
Twas early days to been able to ridden Sally on the trip, sure would have been a test for the bike. Another time, until then onwards and upwards, watching for pt2..
Beautiful video - feels like a last hurrah for Roger before the CMF Moto takes the stage. You now have me dreaming of my own trip abroad this year - possibly a ferry to explore Belgium or maybe a jaunt to Northern Ireland.
Done that crossing more times than i can remember and toured Spain, and toured most countries in western Europe. Now living in Penrith Cumbria it took me and my wife 7 hours to ride to Portsmouth to catch the ferry last year. We're now going to tour Scotland & Ireland. Enjoy the Picos, great area. When you tour Europe, decent hotels, a good restaurant is a must.
Good Evening Charlie , Off on your adventures again with the gang , what a bummer having to move camp after putting it up , good old Rodger he never misses a beat , so all of you take care & ride safe , looking forward to the next episode
There you see, -there is no need for a bigger bike. Abigger bike is more troublesome to drive and what not. An light bike is easy to handle and maintain. Easier to hold when stopping in front of roadcrosses, you name it. I have had a lot of big bikes so I talk of experiance. Now I have light bikes. Well the Honda 750 DCT is my havyest bike. And its a bit too havy. Like your videos! 👍👍🌷🌷❤❤🌹🌹👌👌
Wow looks great Charlie. Though getting of that ferry look like the stuff of my nightmares 😮 I am currently in France enjoying a first European trip on my Z400 with my husband on his Ducati Monster. No camping for us though. 6 days in and it’s be fantastic. Thanks for being an inspiration and hope you are having or already had a great time. I look forward to seeing the next episode.
i have never thought of the enfield as a long distance ride but it looks like i was very wrong looks like every ones having a good time and the lads had the chance to spend the night with a sam fox look alike cant be bad
Where you're made to park dictates how easy, or not, it is to get off the boat. You did very well from a bad spot, as you said " I didn't drop it.". Good Good. Good.
Well done, you did the first part the ferry! I have to say Brittany Ferries embarkment and disembarkation to Spain is a shambles, it was like that for us, bloody chaos, I’d love to know what idiot came up with that idea! Looking forward to the next episode albeit I don’t like the look at that incident you had! Hope your ok ❤

(One important reason why I enjoy living there). You might consider the Pyrenees next time (from either Santander or Bilbao). If you go that way next time you may also want to practice your French on Duolingo!
Great video, are you going to visit the cathedral at Santiago d'Compostela whilst in the region - more or less. Would the Portsmouth to Santander been any easier?
I have two pics that were taken many years ago boarding the ferry, one on a 1200 Bandit and another on a Triumph Daytona. We had an overnight stay before boarding the ferry. The number of bikes boarding was about 20% of what now seems the norm. Got that same pic of the wake behind the ferry too. It used to be 24 hours, someone told me it is now 36?
I was glad to see that you made a film of doing such a long journey on a Himmy. When I inquired about one at my local dealer, he said that, while it was fine for pottering about country lanes, it was an absolute pig on the highway, which rather put me off. I take it you would disagree?
Oh boy, I could feel your malaise while turning on the wet slippery floor on the boat, and I was right there with you holding my breath. Hi Charlie. Many thanks for the video. One question: This black metal frame Roger hast right behind the windshield.... Where's it from ? I am searching one like this. Many greetings from Germany, Stefano 🙋
Too soon to say for comfort, I added a sheep to Rogers seat, but power j can safely say the CF has it in the bag! First long ride coming up today on the CF. 😊
I felt your heart racing going off the ferry, I think it would bother me too, with the load you're carrying. I look forward to seeing your adventure, as I did your previous ones.
Hey Charlie, just wondering about how you transfer footage, edit whilst away, i'm away to Europe end of July and first time with cameras, not really got an idea of what to take, part of me just wants to save the fottage until i get home...
Hi, I take a lap top and an external hard drive, then at the end of each day I transfer everything across from the SD cards and can then wipe them for the next day. 😊
Great video but I hadn't realised you had posted anything for a while then I realised TH-cam had unsubscribed me for some reason ? I only saw this video as it popped up as one I might like. Not sure if it affected anyone else or if you had noticed a change in the number of subscribers but Wiltshire Man said he had the same issue 🤔
@5:45 When I bought my ticket I read the terms and conditions and I can't remember where it says; "You acknowledge that you're a lizard and you enjoy being left under the sun for hours on end just waiting to enter the next phase of the boarding process that consists on being left under the sun for hours on end". I certainly didn't expect an air conditioned lounge with cold drinks and live music but this?
I was a bit confused at the start. But you explained that it takes a while to edit and produce the video. I love it that you can chat and get your mates voice so clearly. How have you achieved this???
Yes, awful loading un/loading, anchoring set-up. Those steel mushroom-like anchor points - don't catch one under your back wheel whilst you have full lock on and are barely moving. Tipped me over.
Remember in Spain indicators are an extra and if a car is emerging from a side road they will wait until your 20 meters away and roundabouts the outside lane has priority! Just saying , ride defensive all the time enjoy 🤣😂

Very enjoyable as ever, Charlie. The music was spot on also 👌
Thanks! 😊
My wife and I were on Irish ferry on our Himalayan and I was anxious like you
Scary times!
Arhhh, Northern Spain, Picos and the Pyrenees my favourite biking destinations ❤️
Excellent music, very Spanish theme. My last years trip memories came flooding back.
I do try and find fitting music, takes time but I think it's worth it!
How excellent another trip with you. bloody hate having to move camp when you've just set up.
Great stuff... 👍 how fortuitous, I'm catching the ferry tomorrow to do a northern Spain tour on my Royal Enfield.. ! Great timing 😃 enjoy... !
How amazing! Have a brilliant and safe adventure. 😊
Super video as ever, thanks very much. Brought back lots of memories our honeymoon 20 years ago riding a Moto Guzzi California around the Picos and Northern Spain. Such a cool place to ride in, perfect roads and mountains and eagles!
Ohh I saw some eagles at the top of the cable car 😊
Very nice, clear sound, super video and a proper story. I am looking forward to the next episode.
Thank you! It takes ages to pull the editing together so it's nice to hear. 😊
Excellent.
Excellent choice of music. Regarding language learning, I found out that learning to speak a language is much easier than trying to understand folks speaking it.

Wow, the number of motorcycles on that ferry is staggering!
It was an eye opener!

I will certainly try to juggle both bikes . 😊
Awesome, another great trip series from Charlie! Lezzz goo! 👍👍

Excellent vid. I like when Jay said, is Roger ready to do 60 and you replied , he thinks he already he is.
I've since discovered that he really wasn't. 🤣
Can't wait to see the next episode. That ferry was massive!
Coming soon!
Awesome first episode Charlie, looking forward to the next instalment👍What a beautiful part of the world👌

You have some great friends. My bike group is lovely but a bit ManxTT
Oh I couldn't ride with folk like that, these guys have tolerated my pace for years and I'm so grateful!
Spain and France = Smooth roads, little traffic, great scenery, food and places to stay. Enjoy on any bike.
Absolutely agree. 😊
One of my favourite destinations. I am sure you agree😊
It's definitely up there!
Looking forward to the next episode!

I think I held my breath the entire time through fear. 🤣
Very good video, Charlie. Hope you have an amazing trip. Look forward to the next instalment. Cheers and ride safe, Dan. ✌️🏍🇨🇦

It's the seed of doubt on the mind!
Thanks Charlie for that amazing video. Can’t believe there were that many bikes on that ferry. Looks like an amazing ride. See you in the next video.
