i truly feel watching all the 3-5 minute shotgun movies (about 96) is a good substitute for taking a formal course......wdc
and if USMLE expects you to know more than this, then they can go to hell

You, sir, are the perfect example of how histology should be taught. I finally understand and it only took 5 minutes. And the best part is that I actually enjoy it.
Thank you and may you have a wonderful life!

    Thank you very much Professor.
You are the best histology professor I've ever seen.
This material is undoubtedly the gold standard to study histology!
I've seen 93 videos already, this is going to be the last one! So sad! :(
    Thank you very very much!
    Best wishes from Brazil

You sir, are a savior. I have a very good histology instructor. Your shot gun explanations coupled with my professor's have immensely helped me to be comfortable in not only recognizing slides but more importantly explaining the main features. Thank you very much!!

thank you so much sir for great explanation, I expect to get a good grade next week :)
    greetings form Croatia!
I would gave everything I have if I could find histology videos of omasum and rumen which are explained so good like rest of your videos. but something also has to be learned from books

Can you clarify where the cells that give rise to papillary carcinoma come from? Are papillae normally present in the thyroid? I could not find an answer to this anywhere. Thank you for your incredible contributions to students worldwide.

@frankenboston calcitonin is not substituted, which is why thyroid cancer survivors run a slightly higher risk of osteoporosis, especially if the subsituted thyroxin dosis is leaning towards the high end for reasons of tumor supression. Still, your calcium metabolism in the absence of a thyroid is run by your kidneys and the parathyroid glands, so it's not completely out of whack.

i'm a thyroid cancer survivor, and had to under go a thyroid ectomy . i'm still kinda pissed about the fact that it's gone and how instrumental and important this gland is that many take for granted in their own bodies. i'm studying this particular video a little bit and it does confirm a little bit more, to me that synthetic thyroid hormone , is not the same as natural made hormone in the body, and does my medicine even have the "calcitonin" within synthroid, and Levothyroxin? or levoxyl?

Actually he is correct. According to Junquera's Basic Histology Text and Atlas 12th Edition, C Cells or Parafollicular cells can be found both in the basement membrane of follicular cells AND in isolated clusters between follicles (362).

Totally incorrect , the parafollicular cells are NOT in the spaces inbetween. infact they lie either between or we can say within the basement membrane of the follicular cells ... so 3 mins onwards is rather wrong.

just wanted to say that we really appreciate what you have done on this channel! You save us precious time and energy in studying histology and AP, whilst also making the learning extremely enjoyable (atleast for me). Keep up the good work. I do propose perhaps renewed updated videos, with the use of newer accessories to enhance the learning process even more. However these videos are already excellent and I am just listing a proposition.
