    Nice review, but there are issues with it. FYI PG Tips is the number one tea brand in the UK, and the company that owns it is Unilever that also owns the Lipton tea brand in the USA market that already appeals to the Americans taste in tea, which means the PG Tips sold in the USA tastes the same as the PG Tips in the UK, but the American version of Yorkshire tea is blended differently, so it does not taste the same as the UK version, so you would probably have to make the USA version of Yorkshire tea with two tea bags to get the equivalent or close to the same strong taste of the British version of Yorkshire tea, or you could just buy the British version, which comes in a similar looking box, but with 80 tea bags instead of a 100 tea bags. If you did the review again making the same tea with two tea bags or just bought the UK version the results of this review could have been different. In fact the results might surprise you. Yorkshire Tea is the number two tea brand in the UK, and is endorsed by the Royal family, and has the Queen's crown stamp on the box. Also Yorkshire tea may not be certified organic like the black teas your used to drinking, but they still put in the time to make a quality product like a certified organic tea brand. th-cam.com/video/CPOdCVX5I5g/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/xvvkA7xURgg/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/Az5EdmxAe08/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/m_Zb3tRsxFg/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/Z27v7OWugN8/w-d-xo.html

      Awesome Osayawe. I appreciate you educating me on this a bit. I'm especially glad to know that Yorkshire, although not certified organic, is grown with high quality standards.

      It's not just USA. It's all the world. If you are outside of UK, it is hard to find proper tea bags that use enough tea (>3 grams). Only the british put a lot of tea into a bag, and you get a proper brew. Also the cost of tea outside of UK skyrockets. Yorkshire Gold 80 bags costs 10.50€ in Finland. The best was Tesco Gold 80 bags / 250 grams at 2.49€, but the brexit is causing Tesco to discontinue exports to EU completely, and it will be impossible to get Tesco tea ever again. LAME.

      @Alfie What is the best tea in England now? It had been PG Tips for decades.

    • @OsAbliNgin911
      @OsAbliNgin911 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Alfie I wonder if PG Tips took a bit of a hit because it is not made in England. It is made in India, and I remember last year there were issues with Indian farmers. Anyway as much as I love PG Tips nothing beats tea made from fresh, and high quality tea leaves rather than a tea bag. I know from experience, and a lot of companies tend to put low quality tea leaves in their tea bags.

    I have yet to try PG Tips, I do like Yorkshire Gold and Builders. I grew up on Lipton, the flavor is bland and boring to me. I visited the UK in 2010 and finally had REAL tea .... thank god you can get real English Tea on Amazon.

    The PG Tips won just because it has more tea in the teabag .. as other commenters have said, the proper Yorkshire tea has more tea in each bag, and there is no string. So in this case, Yorkshire lost because it was weaker because you should have used 2 teabags or the UK version with the bigger bags.

    The usual Yorkshire tea here in England doesn’t have the strings, they come in rectangular teabags that come stuck together in pairs in the box.
    I think you might have got Yorkshire tea similar to “one cup” types which are sold to caterers and cafes. They usually contain less tea because normal teabags most people use can be used in a teapot.
    One cup tea is known to be quite bad compared to the regular kind because of how weak it is. The other commenter was right about the 80 cup box - they use the same amount of tes as the 100 “one cup” box.

    THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS!!! Yorkshire is known for its food and drink; its literature and historic towns and cities; its stunning scenery (3 national parks) and its friendly people SO WHY WOULDN'T IT HAVE THE BEST TEA???!!! PG Tips is NOT from Yorkshire so why would you even drink it? Honestly, I'm at a loss for words...

    I'm a Yankee newbie at this. My UK buddy here in Colombia didn't like the yerba mate that I offered him so I got interested in English & Irish tea a few monthe ago. Note that there are different recommended steeping times for each one. Like the mommy I found PG Tips to be too acidic, bitter in aftertaste but I had steeped it for three minutes. Then I noticed that on the box the recommended steeping time is maximum two minutes so I steeped a cuppa for 1 minute 30 seconds and the acid bitterness disappeared. It's wonderful. I like a cup later in the evening because it gives me a gentle boost instead of a jolt.
    My Yorkshire Gold has a 4 to 5 minute steeping time so if both of these test cups were steeped for the same time then the results would not be optimum. I find that the Yorkshire has a bit more complexity; that is to say that the individual flavors in the blend of leaves are revealed more than the PG. But bear in mind that I have Yorkshire Gold which is nearly but not exactly the same as the blend tested here.
    I tried Tetley and loved it for breakfast. The caffeine kicks in all at once. Another good one for subtle complexity is Ahmad. Then there's the Irish Lyons which I like best for sweetness and lack of bitterness when steeped for two minutes & twenty seconds.

    There is Assam (indian) tea Pekoe (chinese) tea and another variety I am forgetting but the difference between brands is their source and blend....Assam goes great with milk. If youre gonna add sugar the tea should be bitter first. You can make any tea more bitter by repeatedly pressing a spoon against the tea as its brewing. If you're drinking tea without sugar then pressing the tea is a no-no as making the drink more bitter makes it more yucky

    A late reply but I needed to get this out. I have got to say the way you say Yorkshire is weird no offence im from UK and iv never heard anyone say it like that. My preference in this is that there both good teas but I like PG more as it is stronger however Yorkshire tea is smoother but I also like Tetley Tea.

      I don't know if you live in the UK but I do and I can categorically tell you that PG Tips tea isn't exactly the cheapest tea in the UK market. On the contrary, it tends to be quite pricey which I think actually reflects the excellent tea quality that you get. PG Tips stands for top quality.
