It never seizes to amaze me how people make the argument “how have we been doing as a nation with our health based off of the dietary guidelines.” WHAT MAKES YOU THINK people actually follow the guidelines?? You think the average Joe is eating fruits and veg and beans?? NO! They eat fast food, protein bars and powders, microwaved dinners… like wtf
What about oxalates in plant food? What about the issue of many vitamins and protein from plants is not bioavailable to humans. The nutrients from plants are available to many animals but not to humans.

Hey I tried this but the hard drive isn’t popping up when I plug it in. I’ve tried multiple usb ports. I’m using windows and it’s my old Mac’s hard drive so I guess that could be it but I feel like it should show up regardless since the cord works for all different operating systems. Any thoughts?
Dr. Gill sounds more like most clueless MDs in terms of nutrition and is biased because he is a vegan. Hey… to each his own in terms of what diet plan you follow but all the vegetarians I personally know are all in poor health and overweight due to their overconsumption of grains. Great video. 👍 I am happy to see several people hold Dr. Gill accountable on the nutrition/health information he shares.
you judge based on the evidence not on your political bias. You obviously don't watch his videos. Most vegans and vegetarians are thin, weight is about a calorie deficit. Nothing to do with grains. It's about calories consumed

Yeah , he has commented on it before, but he doesn't demonise meat eaters. he is quite balanced and provides evidence. He even dubunks vegan claims too. He does have what he eats in a day vids form ages ago
Dr. Carvalho is not overweight and it in excellent shape. He's a flexitarian. It seems those who are full carnivore get bent when someone else has a different view. Health wise, it's probably best to look at both sides to make decisions.

I'm a Yankee newbie at this. My UK buddy here in Colombia didn't like the yerba mate that I offered him so I got interested in English & Irish tea a few monthe ago. Note that there are different recommended steeping times for each one. Like the mommy I found PG Tips to be too acidic, bitter in aftertaste but I had steeped it for three minutes. Then I noticed that on the box the recommended steeping time is maximum two minutes so I steeped a cuppa for 1 minute 30 seconds and the acid bitterness disappeared. It's wonderful. I like a cup later in the evening because it gives me a gentle boost instead of a jolt. My Yorkshire Gold has a 4 to 5 minute steeping time so if both of these test cups were steeped for the same time then the results would not be optimum. I find that the Yorkshire has a bit more complexity; that is to say that the individual flavors in the blend of leaves are revealed more than the PG. But bear in mind that I have Yorkshire Gold which is nearly but not exactly the same as the blend tested here. I tried Tetley and loved it for breakfast. The caffeine kicks in all at once. Another good one for subtle complexity is Ahmad. Then there's the Irish Lyons which I like best for sweetness and lack of bitterness when steeped for two minutes & twenty seconds.
Also, comparing Smoking and cancer to cholesterol lowing meds and CVD is different because stopping smoking has no downside, no side effects, it's all upside, all benefits. Taking statins or PCSK9 inhibitors, etc., have side effects. Cholesterol is necessary for life, and messing with it is not all benefits like stopping smoking. Smoking does lots of bad things. If you look at Smoking and it's association with any disease, it probably makes it worse. Comparing smoking cessation with cholesterol lower medication is not similar at all.

It is bothersome to me that he fast forwards the majority of what Gil is saying. And he doesn't bring any evidence to refute it other than his opinion. If you want to espouse something then show the evidence. Gil does and that seems a more honest way to do it. Perhaps would be better if you had a one on one conversation with him and let us contrast your views and the evidence behind them. Would love to see that video. :) But on the other hand oatmeal and fruit spike my blood sugar something awful as a type 2 diabetic on diet only control, no meds and a recent HbA1C of 6.0!! Keto seems to be working for me, but I take a very low dose of statin to keep my cholesterol and LDL down.

The entire vegan community doesn’t matter how cool or “highly scientific” they sound, have firm believer in lipid hypothesis ( even though it’s never been proven not even once) and what the “mainstream” tells us like ADA/AHA or Harvard. I have far too many conversations with these people and concludes that they have restricted their thoughts and in case of the most intellectual vegans, can’t dig below the surface of lipid hypothesis. Btw, Bart had torn him apart and also he has done Plant Chompers quite thoroughly in one of his latest releases.

i used to be whole foods plant based. now im carnivore. i wasnt actually too unhealthy when i was plant based. i was fine. when i went carnivore my health improved significantly. i feel faster, smarter and stronger. recovery from exercise is better. my memory improved. life also seems happier and fun. for some reason i feel happier in general now, unlike before.
