I fixed our loud squealing dryer today with help from this video! This was my exact dryer so this was very valuable in learning how to take it apart and put it together again.
The only thing this didn't have was replacing the belt and idler pulley which is what I did with help from another vid. But, this was great instructions. Thank you!

Sporadic squealing over the last two months became constant last night. This video was dead on and helped me disassemble my dryer for the first time. I vacuumed out the insides and as best I could the rollers and pulley and the squealing went back to sporadic. I ordered their pulley/roller maintenance kit because I couldn't figure out which single part was squealing. At least the dryer works ok so I don't have at the very top of my to-do list replacing the pulley and rollers.
It took me about 3 hours start to finish for everything I did but without moving the dryer, taking apart the lint trap and vacuuming everywhere (including the duct to outside and floor under the dryer), a disassembly and quick vacuum of the pulley/rollers would have only taken about an hour.
    Thank you!

Had to clean the lint out of my unit...this was the only place I could find out how to disassemble. Thanks so much!!!
BTW....since they make both electric and gas versions, you may want to remind folks to shut off the gas to the unit as well before they start working on it.

Here I am watching Apr 2 2021 with a 15 month old Whirlpool YWED5620HD dryer that has a vibration and noise from the drum. 2 old people wash once every 2 weeks, no pets and the thing is past its' warranty period. This video is most excellent if in fact my model is basically the same as this one. Now I can see if it is from a belt or drum rollers where the problem may lie. I can tell everyone one thing - DO NOT BUY A WHIRLPOOL DRYER or am I just unlucky? I subscribed to Repair Clinic. Most concise presentation Thank you.

We just tore the thing apart, and sprayed all the moving bits with oil. Reassembled and tested. Now it's belching out heat. I'm not sure if it's just because it was SO PACKED with dust, lint, and hair, that it was simply NOT running hot before and now it is just up to its potential, or what ... I mean, it hasn't been opened and cleaned in ~7 years...
Will run a text load and see if it is an issue or not.

These days if your dryer fails, you just freaking toss it. I replaced a belt on an Amana thats probably 16 years old. Also replaced the spark ignitor. If anything else fails, its going in the dump. Just buy the cheapest dryer you can, bc even a cheap one will last 15 to 20 years, and the time you'd spent repairing any of it, if you havent done it before is wasted precious time. The couple hours it took replacing the $8 belt is time I will never get back. Its dumb. And if you call a repair man, minimum, he is going to charge you half what you paid for the POS dryer in the first place. and the repair folks are generally dumber than a box of rocks, OR they are smart as the fox in the hen house, and your shredded belt will suddenly turn into multiple repairs (unneeded) and a drive by robbery of your pocketbook just to 'pad' the repair guys own dirty pocket.
