I've found that if you approach some of the more technical rocky sections with lack of confidence you tend to slow down too much. Momentum is important so that the bike wants to roll over stuff rather than get stuck and bring you to a sudden halt or just react sideways to bumps rather than want to continue straight.
Sometimes speed can be your friend other times your enemy! The best thing to do when riding a new trail is to walk it first, this should give you a better idea of what speed you can enter the section at. But confidence is key like you said! 🤘
I've watched and rewatched 3:42 to 3:50 like 10 times and my brain 100% interprets it as you going up hill even though I know you are going down hill XD the camera angle or something is literally blowing my mind! great video though! I live in a very very rocky environment, 50-80% of my trails are bedrock so this was helpful :) thank you.
The most valuable, important fragment is from 1:20 till 1:55; before you will start to fly over the trail, it is necessary to get familiar, so first ride will not be amazingly dynamic; very valuable video, Anna is bringing new value and flavor to GMBN channel. btw: looking at the tyres, seems to be that pressure isn't such low that could be, tyres are not deflecting almost at all, right ?
I found out that wearing protection on knees, elbows and hands in difficult rocky sections give me more confidence when riding the trail for the first time. Then you can find the right line with more easy and stay away from the hospital. 😊 After some runs I know the line and maybe can leave away the heavy duty protection...
As someone living in an area that is 95% rocks, the faster you go, the faster you're moving away from the obstacle. Also recommend body armour to go fast over rocks, because sometimes the rocks are faster than you.
Easier said than done, but any roughness or corners are a natural brake so don’t brake there, only brake where you have maximum grip ie where is is smooth and straight
If you lock up while riding over bumps as well your rear suspension can sometimes lock up, which isn't fun going around a corner! But you should still control your speed in/on/out of corners 🤘
I went over a rock in a fat tire e-bike yesterday. I’m a total novice. Honestly, I’m still not sure what happened, but the bike basically did a front flip and landed on me. I’m guessing the back tire got stuck behind the rock. I’m not sure what I’m supposed to do to prevent that. I guess a bunny hop? Either way, I was on a trail I shouldn’t have been. I didn’t appreciate there was more to trail difficulty than steepness. Which sounds stupid saying it now. Either way, pretty damn lucky not to have anything more than sprained wrists and the worst muscle/bone bruise of my life.

Very cool spot! It is an interesting camera angle for sure 🤘

Would be helpful to have a video on “climbing” rocky terrain, that is, going up rather than down.
Keep your eyes peeled! 👀
you said Dynamic Risk Assessment. I heard SEND IT! wonder why I'm always banged up?🤔
They do sound very similar! 🤔

Perfect timing
Are you off to somewhere rocky?
Imagine John madden doing commentary for MTB. " in order to move the bike down the trail you really gotta pedal."
Is these the canyon torque fw special edition
Just send it
Just ride in North wales your choices are medium rocks to big rocks o and slate
Slate is fun for everyone! 🤙

Nice video… but… Just a little advice for British friends .. the accent falls on the I of Ligure not on the U... so it’s Lígure not Ligúre… 😉👍🏻
Dont use brakes and pump up the tyres, and sus then you'll brake before the bike, its the best stopping method
🤔
Wet kerbs are the worst...Ha !
Easy. Just do it and be careful. Some people are made for biking, some are not.
Some people make out that they have been good at biking since they emerged from the womb too 🙄
This screams elitist a-hole.
