    • Live - Lightning Crash...
For the first time on the channel, we are checking out the band Live with their song "Lightening Crashes." This tune was absolutely beautiful not only lyrically but also in the musical choices they made instrumentally! I love the imagery presented in the lyrics and it really makes you reflect on the important things in life! I cannot wait to hear more from this incredible band! Hope you enjoy! #reaction #lighteningcrashes #90smusic #90srock #musicreactions

From an interview with lead singer/songwriter Ed Kowalczyk in Spin magazine in June 1995. "While the clip is shot in a home environment, I envisioned it taking place in a hospital, where all these simultaneous deaths and births are going on, one family mourning the loss of a woman while a screaming baby emerges from a young mother in another room. Nobody's dying in the act of childbirth, as some viewers think. What you're seeing is actually a happy ending based on a kind of transference of life."

You gotta remember every day. Someday you’re gonna be old bones. We are Stardust. It’s true. If life is beautiful so is death because it’s the same thing.
I’ve done a lot of end-of-life care. I’ve spent many hours holding hands of people who were dying and been with them when they did. There’s something about it just being there for someone so they’re not alone. It could be somebody special to you. It could be a stranger, but we all go and there’s a certain beauty to that.

I first heard Live mentioned by some young drunk festival chick interviewed on the Headbanger's Ball in 1990-something and laughed. A hundred years later, that first album is a cherished part of my life and we'll be listening to Live for the rest of our life. What a surprise they turned out to be. Ed's kind of a dick sometimes, but most artists are. Glad to hear they're back together in some capacity. Maybe cooler heads will now prevail and more great music will be made. They had 4 or 5 really great albums in a row. Would love to see a return to that. Yeah, there were a lot of great bands in the 90s. There was one called Candlebox you should look into. They were a band that I bought the album, they exploded, and I became almost allergic to the sound of the band, but that first album, especially a track called "You" was epic. Yeah, he said "placenta". Ed was a little weird, too. But always great. (Ed Kowaljczyk is the singer. Don't quote me on that spelling. I know Ed is hard to screw up, but... 😁) This album had a ton of great tunes, esp. "T.B.D.", "Pillars of Davidson" and "White, Discussion". Yeah, glad to see Live back. Love your channel!

Unpopular opinion: I was there; I hated this album then and still do. I thought it was because of how much it got overplayed by the radio back then, but even re-listening decades later, I still hate it.
The reaction, as always was great. no shade on you or on anyone who likes the tune. This one is one of the few from back then that genuinely makes me angry the second I hear it start. MMMM MMMM MMMM MMMM by the crash test dummies is the other.
