Thanks it's wonderful to see this I don't think I've ever seen June Whitfield looking so young and Ronnie Barker has the timing for his lines spot on as usual, always a pleasure to see Jimmy Edwards, there isn't enough of him available to see which is a pity as he was such a lively character.
How very extraordinary. Just last night, halfway through frank muir’s autobiography, I reached the part when he and Denis norden were writing this. What are the odds seeing seven faces of Jim the very next morning?
I saw this yesterday at the BFI - Edwards was made for TV; he was very good. The episode itself wasn't especially funny but Jimmy brought outstanding energy... IMO.
Wow! What a find, I remember whilst working in the theatre doing a panto season with Jimmy Edwards, and another panto with the wonderful June Whitfield, oh happy days, thank you CBT, for bringing back such memories, stay lucky!
RON: 'I think about you all the time, Eth - all day long. Even this afternoon, when I was pumping up me bike, the pump seemed to go 'Eth, Eth, Eth, Eth.' (Blimey, that's a brill line! Muir and Nordern were such a hilarious writing duo - right up there with Galton and Simpson.)
Wow what a find! I've long been a fan of the classic 1950s radio recordings of The Glums, but I never knew this TV episode existed. Thank you 👍

The Lord bless you and keep you. Simplicity, humour and beautifully scripted & acted.
A real rarity - Must be one of Ronnie Barker's earliest comedic performances - Many thanks for this!

An interesting watch. Goodness was there ever a time, in recorded history, that Ronnie barker, didn't have white hair.
@@pepwaverley2185 He might have a colour TV lol
What a gem!👍. The characters played by June and Ronnie could easily be the model for Some Mothers Do ‘ave’ Em!
