Thank you so much for making this video!!!! After I watched, I thought that I should give it a try because it seemed like a fun thing to do. I started grinding everyday to try to finish, trying to keep myself on a pace of one state a day. This really didn’t work, as I started to feel tired and bored of learning the counties, and I kept forgetting all of the non-unique ones. But, after a few months of practicing and headaches, I finished the quiz. Thank you for making this video, because it got me into these weird kinds of geography. I am currently trying to memorize all of the Minnesota townships and cities, (I am a resident of Isanti county), and recently got this video on my recommended again. Thank you so much for the motivation!!!!!!!!
Don’t worry, most of us Texans don’t know any of em outside the Texas triangle-as well as some of the coastal, south, east, and central Texas ones. For sure know Tom Green and Deaf Smith tho since those are some of the more interesting names.
Oh. I forgot I made this comment! After about 2 months or so of grinding, I’m so happy to say that I got all of them! I saved Texas for last bc it seemed too hard, and I almost gave up because I kept forgetting them. I’m happy I stuck with it though, as it felt so good when I actually finished the quiz.
Congratulations bro! As a neurodivergent person whose hyper-fixation is geography, I'm trying to do this too. So far I have 12 states down. This is very impressive!
OMG NO WAY I AM TOO!!! I'M FROM HAMPDEN COUNTY TOO!!! Although not there right now as I am typing this, I'm in Sullivan County, New Hampshire. Near the Vermont border
Hi, your neighbor to the West here: can we borrow some Ken's Italian? The Pittsfield Walmart doesn't sell groceries and the North Adams is always out. We'd ask Rensselaer but Maura told us not to bother them.
@lackedpuppet9022 Ken's Italian sounds nice! Maybe we could also head over to summer house in Southwick, or if we want something simple we could head over to Chick-fil-A in Chicopee, one of the only ones in the area. After that we could head over to the Holyoke mall! Fun to just walk around.
This is so satisfying to watch. It's scratching an itch. I can only imagine how satisfying it is to actually DO. The mix of lightning speed typing, the pain of stimulation in the brain, and the satisfaction of seeing all the green spaces fill up, knowing you the name of every county in existence
I know I'm a whopping one year late but I just have to say, absolutely outstanding job. Also I find it hilarious that you swapped the pronunciation of the 'ch' in Schenectady and Chenango. (Chenango ftw!)
i’m so impressed you got all of the upper pensinsula and wisconsin counties, and it was really fun to hear which syllables you put emphasis on!! (like ontanogan, baraga, houghton, etc were the ones i listened to!!! if you’re curious about pronunciations, ontanogan is usually pronounced with a glottal stop where the t is, and the emphasis is usually placed on the third syllable [so like on-a-NOG-in]! baraga has the emphasis on the first syllable, so like BEAR-aguh, and then houghton is like HOE-ton! [also usually with a glottal stop where the t is!])
it's impressive enough that you have memorized all the names, but even more inpressive to me is that you guess them in such a methodical manor, top to bottom or left to right etc. it's not like you memorized a list, you just actually know where every county is
As soon as he. Skipped the rest of the Midwest, and shifted the focus to Florida and going up east from there, I knew he would get my county in either SC, VA, or PA. So I fast forwarded to my state, and watched that before watching someone else

Very impressive, but already out-of-date. As of this year, Connecticut no longer has counties in any sense and instead has planning regions as county equivalents: Western Connecticut, Greater Bridgeport, Northwest Hills, Naugatuck Valley, South Central Connecticut, Capitol, Lower Connecticut River Valley, Northeastern Connecticut, and Southeastern Connecticut. (Note that some sources incorrectly call Greater Bridgeport Planning Region "Metropolitan Planning Region," incorrectly applying the name of the COG that administers the region to the region itself.)
i am aware of this, and the quiz will be updated soon to fix this. i have made it a point to visit all 8 former county courthouses, as well as all 9 current COG headquarters. rest assured any change in the county map does not go overlooked by me.
