I wanted to clarify some things in the comment section just for the sake of it: 1. Yes PewDiePie lives in Japan and respects the Japanese. He is not telling tourists to stop visiting, he is telling them not to disrespect the culture. 2. Many are saying, "oh this is not a big deal, tourists do this all the time." Just cause it happens all the time does not make it okay. You should expect your own Government to first and foremost protect your people. And IMO I do think it is a big deal in a peaceful country like Japan. When there is a sudden surge of toxic tourists, the shift is pretty noticeable and that will bother the locals. I mean recently, there have been many foreigners, not just Americans, that have harassed enough locals for Kyoto to start banning tourists from parts of the Geisha district.

Can agree with the KFC comment. Grew up in Canada, they use totally different seasonings there. The flavour is like 10x more in your face for the coating and alot more crunchy.
Born in NZ and grew up in Asia, and this is true. In Hong Kong, the original coasting is slop that just sloughs off the meat, but the hot and spicy/grilled skin is top tier. In Japan the original coating is thinner, lighter and crispier with better coverage (heavier than tempura, lighter than 'normal' original KFC). In New Zealand, hot and spicy coating is not available at all, but the original coating is done in the old way so its crispier thicker and covers better with a heavier flavor.
One of the reasons Japan is so friendly is because of their 90% court conviction rate. There was a Japanese guy once who tried to get equal welfare for widowers to widows and the courts said no. When the guy accused them of sexist discrimination, the judges said they don't care. It is a country where the police has the right to randomly stop and frisk anyone on the street. They call it "busy work".
In Korea, it's a similar situation. The conviction rate for sexual crimes is over 90%, and the presumption of innocence isn't really upheld. (For comparison, it's 8% in Germany and 23% in Sweden.) Recently, a 22-year-old guy was accused of sexual harassment by a woman in her 50s and was even booked by the police. But his mom, pretending to be a random neighbor, talked to the woman and recorded their conversation. Turns out, the woman's story didn't line up with the CCTV footage or even make sense logically, so the guy vented about it online. Later, the woman admitted she sometimes says things that aren't true because of her depression meds, which ended up saving the guy from wrongful punishment. In cases like this, if a woman's testimony is consistent, a guilty verdict can happen even without physical evidence. So, Korean police often book suspects without much evidence. It's easier to go after regular people than to chase down real criminals.

Not understanding the law is not an excuse. Being allowed into another country is a privilege. The responsibility of learning, knowing and following local laws rests with the visitor.
Do they have 420 dispensaries?
@@artistryspectrum512 They have drug dealers, like every other country, but it doesn't seem to be a big problem there.
In Korea, it's a similar situation. The conviction rate for sexual crimes is over 90%, and the presumption of innocence isn't really upheld. (For comparison, it's 8% in Germany and 23% in Sweden.)
Recently, a 22-year-old guy was accused of sexual harassment by a woman in her 50s and was even booked by the police.

The yakuza was in decline and the police/law enforcer isn't a scary enough entity
true, it'd helps to have rough around the edges types in your city to keep idiot gaijin in check.
Yakuza are in decline because the Police have cracked down heavily on them. The Police of old knew where their operations etc were but had this informal way of dealing with them until they committed super serious crimes.
@@matthew90276 you see this in USA too, cities with mafia, like NY, as bad as mafia were, I'd guess random crime in mafia run neighborhoods was quite low. Now not so much.

Theres always extremists, but what Asmon said about most Japanese being totally okay with foreigners is right.
Ones that are respectful and assimilate well generally blend in well.
The problem is a lot of bad actors. It's still hard to get a credit card here becuase for years people maxed out their cards and dipped back home. Its hard to find an apartment becuase foreigners are way more likely to do damage and be a nuisance (especially military).
A few, very inflammatory people ruin it for everyone and make people think the japanese are more xenophobic than they are, when a lot of times theyre just covering their asses.
its the most american thing Asmon said about he feared he would be fired, bro not only japan but in whole as europe is practically impossible to fire anyone without any good reason and in japan they practically cant fire you, they would put you in a chair doing nothing in your work hours so you would fire yourself...
The end result is the same. Also that is an old story. They will make you redundant and you will lose your job, it isn't near impossible for them to fire you. You clearly have zero actual knowledge or experience and are going off of old stories. I know people that got let go from their jobs when I lived in Japan... it isn't almost impossible, it is very very possible.
Workplace isolation is crazy, I would probably start using it to practice a new job position or go nuts.
Felix is the Japan man. Matured youtuber ever. He is the only TH-camr that is succedful and stayed humble. Asmongold can learn from him.
Just got back from japan and ive been going for over 10yrs. First time i seen ppl openly being disrespectful. Had some streamers filming the mcdonalds menu at 6pm in a busy tokyo location. There was a massive line behind them cause they took forever at the screen - just get some fucking self awareness. Do your video off peak or someone less busy not dinner peak ffs. Do the research before you go and know the basic customs like not talking at max volume on the trains. So sad to see japan treated this way.
you don't need to understand their ways, you just need to show respect, if you can't do that, then you should get deported
Jaywalking is almost never necessary in Japan - the streets are designed with flow in mind, lights are timed and synchronized. I was there for a week and I barely even had an opportunity to jaywalk.
Once I did manage to jaywalk, and a little old lady trailed me without looking (because it didn't even occur to her that someone else would jaywalk) and she almost got ran over by a small truck. I felt horrible.
Not understanding the law is not an excuse. Being allowed into another country is a privilege. The responsibility of learning, knowing and following local laws rests with the visitor. Anyone who does not know or follow the laws of the country they are visiting has absolutely no business visiting said country. So yeah, I agree. If a person breaks a single law, any law, of a nation they are visiting they should immediately be deported and never again allowed entry. Without exception.
Certain immigrants in European countries don’t care at all about another countries culture or laws
They should have researched the laws, culture and etiquette before setting foot in a country thousands of miles from their home.
Countries are fake and laws are agreements from local gangs. There can only be one ethically correct law/rule for any given situation, so I will follow what I believe that to be rather than the arbitrary rules that the local gang has in place.
I’m going in a couple days up to Japan, I will not get the same authentic experience I would have 10 years ago because of all these fiends running around.

How about learning Japanese properly?
Wait till you try to learn a tone language, you could say the exact same word but in different tones for hours until you hit the exact right tones and everybody around you will slap their forheads and be like "owwWww you meant THAT"
Bro did you decide to live in japan and not learn japanese???
Yeah, I was 12 once. I remember doing stupid shit, messing with my neighbor's vehicles and houses at 3am. But I grew out of that and became an adult.
That’s a coincidence I was 12 once too. It’s funny how many people were also 12 at one point. I think it must be a thing or something
26:00 the problem with a lot of situations that get escalated is that all these scumbags have a warrant and they don’t want to be identified or detained. A normal, law abiding citizen wouldn’t mind being detained because they will be released right away when things are settled. The people who fight with the cops know they have a record so they do something trivial, get pulled over or whatever and know they are gonna be in trouble when the police see the warrant.
Such high standards and expectations for a foreign country while ours is a sh*t show of illegal immigration. Make it make sense.

I was lucky to visit Japan on 10 day business trip. I didn't have a single bad experience as a foreigner. I only felt bad once I returned home and realized how self-centered and bad mannered people are. We need more Japanese social discipline. @@Nabuchadnezar Funniest shit is when someone drinking 5 or more coffees a day calls someone drug addict or alcoholic
I don't know a single person who drinks energy drinks, it's just bad Internet meme
@@xinlou6707If you do some math and some research, 4-5 cups of coffee generally includes as much caffeine, and less sugar, than 1 or 2 energy drinks. It does depend a lot on how the coffee is brewed, what beans were used, and so on, as well as what energy drink you compare to, but on average. Most research, albeit limited in numbers, point towards energy drinks being far more addictive than coffee, mostly as a result of the added sugar contents. But neither coffee nor energy drinks are bad in moderation, and 4-5 cups of coffee a day, or 1 or 2 energy drinks a day, is considered as in moderation by most counts. 7 and up is generally seen as excessive.

My FIL worked in Saudi Arabia for several years, he had a coworker who had his wife and autistic son fly in for a visit. The son was really fixated on cameras at the time and happened to take a random photo out the bus window as they were headed to their compound. A policeman saw the flash go off and stopped the bus. He made all the non Saudi people get off, verbally abused the son and father and threatened them with extensive jail time (non-citizens taking photos is illegal almost everywhere there), and confiscated the camera. So by all means, send these goons to the Middle East to play hardcore FAFO. They will most likely not return.
It's always funny going on the internet and reading these fake ass stories. 42% of the saudi population is made up of foreigners, and you tell me they can't take photos? It's not that hard to follow a simple rule in the Middle East. You can take pictures anywhere you want as long as it's not invading someone's privacy.
